I have realised I am in a biscuit no-mans land, having eaten, but not loved many a biscuit in my time. I’m now in search of ‘the one’, the lifetime partner biscuit that only death or removal from manufacture will see us parted. I do love a proper highland shortbread, but at the same time they are just a little too plain. Chocolate covered/filled/chips is good (but please don’t recommend hobnobs, I do not have the spare time available to remove those from my teeth). Any kind of fruit filling/coating could also be interesting. In particular, these biscuits are required to go with my last tea before bed at night, and also with a coffee or two during the week when I’m working from home. So
A) AIBU to ask, and
B) what do you recommend?

Chocolate Kimberley.
Can you get them in the UK ?

SilentIsla · 15/10/2018 20:56

Deans shortbread

imaginativeusername · 15/10/2018 20:58

Chocolate bourbon. Dipped in a Yorkshire brew. If there's a heaven on earth this is it. Oh I've tried all the fancy biscuits, all the Duchy singing and dancings but sometimes it comes down to respecting the simplicity of things. The delight that's to be found in, not the first bite of a dipped bourbon, but the second and then the rest of the whole packet...

I like a freshly pressed custard creme Biscuit.

MustStopSnacking28 · 15/10/2018 21:02

I have eaten four packs of Lotus biscoffs in two weeks so I would say that’s proof they are the greatest (and I am the greediest)

Theweasleytwins · 15/10/2018 21:05

Either m and s half dipped chocolate shortbread

Or their milk chocolate rounds

UpstartCrow · 15/10/2018 21:07

Lidl oat and raisin biscuits.
Asda own brand peanut biscuits.

lms2017 · 15/10/2018 21:07

AwkwardSquad · 15/10/2018 21:11

Waitrose 1 lavender shortbread. They’re delicious; great taste and texture. And pretty too 😁

lynmilne65 · 15/10/2018 21:17

Trouble with danish butter biscuits is my lack of control 😋😻

liquidrevolution · 15/10/2018 21:19

Lotus or, as my DD calls them, mummy biscuits Blush.

Havent had choco lebeinz for ages will get some tomorrow.

So jealous of the PP with chocolate Polos. I loved them as a child.

Oldraver · 15/10/2018 21:21

Sainsburys Shortbread rounds with chocolate chips

Asda's the same if they still do them (not in ours)

greenlynx · 15/10/2018 21:28

I agree with thisisreallyfunny — M&S all butter biscuits

al2002 · 15/10/2018 21:31

Mrs. Crimbles biscuits are very nice for those who are coeliac. 170 calories per biscuit though.

buckeejit · 15/10/2018 21:33

TTD fresh choc chip shortbread or boxed choc ginger or salted caramel.

Also love tunnocks teacake. Enjoying the dull but always pleasing Sainsbury again - organic ginger biscuits atm

Tigger001 · 15/10/2018 21:45

Aldi do a Viennese finger with jam and cream, blooming lovely
Fox cream crunch
A good bourbon
Jaffa cake ( cake, biscuit ? I never know)

timtam23 · 15/10/2018 22:02

Co-op, from their Irresistible range, choc chip and ginger Grin

April2020mom · 15/10/2018 22:04

Chocolate biscuits dipped into hot tea sounds scrumptious. I also love tea cake and hot cup of milk or cookies as a snack too. Especially when it’s late at night.

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 15/10/2018 22:17

Dark chocolate hobnobs

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 15/10/2018 22:17

Dunked in hot tea or coffee obviously!

YerDaSellsAvon · 15/10/2018 22:19

For me it’s a chocolate polo. I’m not sure if you get them in the UK but it’s a coconut shortcake type affair with chocolate on top.
This needs further detail. Do you do deliveries?

CatherineCawood · 15/10/2018 22:21

Abernathy. Plain and simple but sooooooo good.

neveradullmoment99 · 15/10/2018 22:27

Leibniz
Also agree about m&s extremely chocolatey biscuits. Tunnocks tea cakes or caramel wafers.....there are so many.

OrigamiZoo · 15/10/2018 23:35

A belvita is also hard to beat.

tillytrotter1 · 16/10/2018 00:07

Border Dark Chocolate Gingers, bliss. Lidl do a stem ginger one that is very nice too.
