To think Megan is expecting?

I know it’s none of my business, but does anyone else think Megan Markle is pregnant? And why isn’t the UK media speculating?? They usually speculate about this stuff. The US media has written some comments about her choice of clothing, which looks to cover a bump. I assume, they want to keep it private. I love news about a royal baby 😀 and does anyone think Kate will have one more?

Well it seems you were right. She was fortunate to conceive so quickly. I'm very pleased for them. I'm even more team Sussex after some of the vitriol aimed towards her on this site over the last few days.

Gingerrogered · 15/10/2018 09:35

Yeah, the royal family are so shit hot on protocol etc there is absolutely no way in the world they would have made an off the cuff announcement at the wedding.

Either it was prearranged with Eugenie or made up by the DM. I suspect the latter. Because for one thing there were 1,400 people at that wedding and there’s no way they could have kept a lid on it over the weekend if they announced it to that many people on Friday!

Ghanagirl · 15/10/2018 09:35

@Gingerrogered
If you read some the vitriol directed at Meghan you can understand what poster was getting as for calling her “nasty” why don’t you direct your comments to the people posting hate against a young woman whose done nothing except be herself. Of course on mumsnet it’s much worse being accused of racism than actually being subjected to it.

StylishMummy · 15/10/2018 09:44

BBC JUST REPORTED THEY'RE EXPECTING

Love the royals and their status as a British entity. Good luck to them

MargaretDribble · 15/10/2018 09:53

The wedding was a two day affair so it is possible that they told people on Saturday. Mama bearwere you there?😉
Anyway it doesn't matter who told who and when, it is lovely news for any couple.

SillySallySingsSongs · 15/10/2018 10:00

Apart from the fact they didn't go.

SoupDragon · 15/10/2018 10:02

I’m dying to know if the poster who refers to Eugenie and Beatrice as “blood princesses” is going to refer to the new baby as the “half-blood prince(ss)”

😂😂

HeartburnCentral · 15/10/2018 10:11

It appears all the speculation was correct. The Palace announced this morning Meghan and Harry are due expecting their first baby in Spring.

EmperorTomatoRetchup · 15/10/2018 10:12

I'm sure the Royal family 's pr machine will be delighted that it takes the focus away from the bill the public are left for (over) policing sparsely attended crowds at the marriage of someone 9th in line of the throne.

PortiaCastis · 15/10/2018 10:17

All the bitchy vitriol on this thread has made me like Meghan more but I expect we'll get the odd cowbag comment about who the father is, anyway it's great news and I eish the couple every happiness

mikado1 · 15/10/2018 10:27

Snort SoupDragon :)

Lweji · 15/10/2018 10:39

As I said in one of these threads, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Grin

LittleLionMansMummy · 15/10/2018 10:43

Not a huge royalist, but I quite like Wills and Harry and wish Harry and Meghan all the best, it's lovely positive news whatever your position in society.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 15/10/2018 10:45

I really do wish these two the best

BigChocFrenzy · 15/10/2018 10:50

Congratulations to Harry & Meghan

Ghanagirl · 15/10/2018 11:18

@IdaBWells
was pretty neutral on Megs and Hazzer but with all the completely unnecessary vitriol on here and in the Daily Mail I am now firmly Team Sussex.
THIS
Mixed race woman marries into royal family jealous uneducated Daily Mail readers start frothing and heaping ill will on a pregnant woman.

Gingerrogered · 15/10/2018 11:26

I hadn’t thought of that, good point.

PawneeParksDept · 15/10/2018 11:26

As I've posted on another thread Eugenie and Jack live at Kensington Palace and Eugenie and Harry are close.

She will have known before the wedding and therefore all York's and all Wales/Cambridge's

The Queen will have had to be informed due to the Australian tour

By members of the RF finding out at the wedding they probably mean Prince Edward, Princess Anne and the like of Sarah Chatto and Freddie Windsor.

So fucking what?

But the Mail will use the new found goodwill for Eugenie to claim Meghan tried to steal her spotlight with all the usual attendant undertone and snobbery

Gingerrogered · 15/10/2018 11:35

Oh give it a rest ghanagirl, I made an observation about her nose now to her nose before she was pregnant. I didn’t make any reference at all to her race.

I haven’t read every post on this thread and have only responded to the ones I’ve seen. I think there are quite enough people hypervigilantly trolling every thread about Meghan making racism allegations at the most innocuous of comments already, don’t you? I don’t think there’s any need to add to that. And yes, if I get accused of racism when it was nothing of the sort I am going to stand up for myself and I have every right to be offended my being accused of it. Some of us aren’t absolutely fixated on race and it’s not even in our minds when we comment, let alone making some sort of triple layered coded reference.

CoughLaughFart · 15/10/2018 11:40

Personally I’m looking forward to the likes of the Mail and the Express realising the baby won’t be a prince or princess and using it as an excuse to churn out endless speculative articles about how this means the Queen must disapprove of Meghan.

Thymeout · 15/10/2018 11:55

The Queen held a private lunch for close family immediately after the service. She and the DoE weren't all mingling with the other 850 guests. I imagine it could have been announced then.

It was awkward timing but the last possible moment after the 12 week scan that it could have been announced before the tour. If they hadn't announced it, and Meghan had to drop out of an engagement there'd be massive speculation. Announcing it before the wedding would have been taking the shine off E's big day and it's wise not to go public before the scan.

karmap · 15/10/2018 12:03

Wasn't her (relaxed) hair recently used as evidence that she was in actual fact NOT pregnant?

karmap · 15/10/2018 12:04

^i.e she can't use chemicals to straighten her whilst pregnant. I'm sure there are alternatives but as a non-African, I'm fairly naive.

SoupDragon · 15/10/2018 12:07

realising the baby won’t be a prince or princess

Will it not? I thought it would be the same "level" as Beatrice and Eugenie.

Gingerrogered · 15/10/2018 12:09

I think you can comb it out to look flat in a bun or ponytail type style even when not relaxed. A relative of mine who is mixed race did that and had these extension things you sort of put over the bun so it looks like a long sleek pony or messy bun thing but it’s not really your hair.
