DH brought the kids ds 3 and dd 1. They watched at the finish line with Bil and then we went for food after the run. I'm super tired. We got the train home, then he sorts out dinner for the kids. Smashing, however I equally sort fire out, change dd into pj's and pop to bed. Then go for a bath. Whilst in the bath, dd starts wailing, so I shout to dh to get her. He then rants that he's tired etc and can't I help. Jeez!! I'm in the bath and I've just run 13.1 miles!!!!!!

I think hell would be a more fun place than a world where parents aren't allowed any hobbies or time on their own PissedOff Grin

Pissedoffdotcom · 14/10/2018 21:28

OP i hope you are now cosy on the sofa with a large glass of whatever your poison is. I don't envy you in the morning tho 😂

I'm guessing even the devil won't be as strict as the 'running widows', so you'll be fine Pissed! Grin

Pissedoffdotcom · 14/10/2018 21:35

I'll happily do all the devilly shit he needs, as long as i have a shower & flat screen for afters hahaha.

Am i allowed to hobby with the DC in the room? Or is that selfish too...

Antigon · 14/10/2018 21:38

Definitely selfish...you should be cleaning whilst they play...preferably in a hairshirt!

Pissedoffdotcom · 14/10/2018 21:40

Aww man

Oneandoneontheway · 14/10/2018 21:58

I grateful for all the comments, some a little less so. It didn't seem a biggy to me, but apparently it is! Marriage is a partnership . I ran, he didn't. Bit like when he played football and I didn'td 🙄

It's okay OP, tomorrow he will go back to work & you can relish in your easy week. Take comfort and drink wine

EmmaGellerGreen · 14/10/2018 22:11

Well done OP. I don’t think you’re unreasonable at all. We had the oppon-site last weekend, DH ran his second marathon. He was exhausted, I drove the 3 hour journey home, did dinner whilst he wallowed in the bath etc. I did it happily because we are a team. Be proud if your achievement OP.

The replies on this post are fucking mental.

Why is this fella being lauded as a hero just on the back of looking after his own children for 3 hours??

I pity some of you women if a father looking after his own children for a few hours is so remarkable.

WelcomeToShootingStars · 14/10/2018 22:40

Also, I work away frequently for weeks at a time. It's crap. But it's crap because I crave cosying up on my own couch, having access to all of my things and having the luxury of eating proper food from my own kitchen when instead I'm sat on a bed or at a desk, living out of a suitcase and eating hotel food every day.

However, I do get to have a nice relaxing soak in the bath and a good night's sleep every night I'm away.

And if the hotel were particularly noisy, I'd book a different one.

AnonaMouse1 · 15/10/2018 08:03

I pity these women too stars

Totally agree
