Important to note that this is not even just about risk of sexual violence. Women in prison are forced to be naked together a lot. They shower together, often without any curtains, share cells.

Putting a male-bodied person in there is forcing these women to expose their names bodies to him on a regular basis, and to see his. It is an enormous violation.

I agree with a PP who stated wholesale prison reform is urgent. Women’s prisons are not needed IMO. In the meantime though we can surely agree not to make these women’s suffering even worse by putting males in with them.

Women in prison are some of the most vulnerable in this country, over half have traumatic brain injuries from DV or beatings from pimps.
There were 21 reported sexual assaults in Womens prisons last year - that piece of shit Male rapist was respnsible for 25% of those assaults - he will be included in Female Sex offender stats. 😡

Wow. That is extremely concerning. What is the explanation for this massive over representation of sex offenders in the trans prison population?

There are problems with that statistic for sure. For a start, it does not include prisoners with a GRC - they would be recorded as their legal sex. So there may be quite a few more than the 125 cited (who are trans prisoners with no GRC who have already had a case conference which means they’re in for a fair while).

So what we know is that 60 of those 125 trans prisoners on longer sentences with no GRC have been convicted of a sex offence.
There may well be more trans people on shorter sentences who haven’t committed sex offences, and I’m sure there are trans prisoners with a GRC.

Why are such a huge percentage sex offenders though? Surely that needs some investigation?

Am I the only one not surprised that a male who has a predisposition to dress in clothing usually associated with the opposite sex, are likely to be sexually deviant?

It would have been presented to the judge as a sign of deviance. Now it’s presented as a reason to let men off heinous crimes.

I’ve said it from the beginning, we will see a lot more examples of why this behaviour is a precursor to acts of harm against women and children.

If trans women do not wish to be imprisoned with natal men then they need to campaign for their own wings, which I will support.

Part of the kink for this type of paraphilia is enjoying the feeling of naughtiness - of getting away with something they should be doing. How much more are they going to have to "get away with" to get their kicks if this paraphilia is now supposed to be accepted and tolerated throughout society?
