To think the tide is turning with transgenderism

abacucat · 11/10/2018 10:05

There have been a flood of articles in mainstream newspapers criticising transgenderism and putting forward the feminist perspective. It is not long ago that no mainstream newspaper would carry these articles. The tide seems to be turning.

Just to say Verbeena won't answer any of your questions because she has no coherent argume...

Yeah, I know. It's not actually necessary, to be honest.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 11/10/2018 18:57

The only real instance from the examples that poster gave Verbeena. Not the only real instance of all time. I thought I made that pretty clear in my post tbh.

So MNHQ have made deletions? That's good then. That means what little transphobia is here is being addressed.

VerbeenaBeeks · 11/10/2018 18:57

If you have a general negative perception of trans people, particularly if the only trans people you DO like are not exactly "typical", you might want to ask yourself if you have a problem

Indeed.

Ereshkigal · 11/10/2018 18:57

I'm not a transphobe. That accusation is so meaningless it describes most of the population. It's about women's rights for me. Yes I do centre them over male feelings. Sorry.

BigChocFrenzy · 11/10/2018 18:57

FWR has an amazingly high number of hits, exceeded only by AIBU and Chat
It was also rated in that MNHQ thread as by far the most important board on MN

Women are flocking to FWR, presumably to discuss what is by far the most frequent topic there: self-ID
So, women are becoming aware of what self-ID means and hence many don't like it

Elephantinacravat · 11/10/2018 18:58

There is no POINT pointing it out to people who can't see!

I'm looking. I want to see. I have never called you a handmaiden or anything like that. You have no reason for not engaging with me or any other poster here. You sometimes hang on the coat tails of other people's arguments but you have nothing to offer yourself.

Ereshkigal · 11/10/2018 18:58

Yeah, I know. It's not actually necessary, to be honest.

If she did it would be word salad.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 11/10/2018 18:59

Again nobody has claimed there is zero transphobia. Making ridiculous claims like this is why people are accusing you of being hard of thinking.

Elephantinacravat · 11/10/2018 18:59

Oh and I'm still waiting for the links about Pips Bunce wanting to transition but not being able to take hormones for medical reasons. I'm starting to think you are just full of shit, but I would be genuinely happy to be proven wrong because it would mean I wasn't wasting my time with you.

CaligulaBlushed · 11/10/2018 19:00

I didn't call you a transphobe, but do I think that if your specifically don't want to be a transphobe you might have some work to do.

But if you don't care if you are or not then why not just own it?

Hyppolyta · 11/10/2018 19:00

Verbeena i dont have a problem with anyone calling themselves trans.

I do have a massive problem with anyone lying or pretending they are of the opposite sex, or forcing entry into a space meant for the opposite sex.

Is that still transphobic?

Ereshkigal · 11/10/2018 19:01

I didn't call you a transphobe, but do I think that if your specifically don't want to be a transphobe you might have some work to do.

That's nice. I'll be sure to think that over.

VerbeenaBeeks · 11/10/2018 19:01

So MNHQ have made deletions? That's good then. That means what little transphobia is here is being addressed

Only because you have more disagreeing voices in this thread away from FWR, so they're likely to get reported, can't you see that?!
In the FWR board they go more or less unchecked because nobody can see they're bloody doing it and are all of the same opinion!
See some more of the main names on there are piling into the thread now, did some kind of klaxon go off and a call to arms or something?!

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 19:02

Oh and I'm still waiting for the links about Pips Bunce wanting to transition but not being able to take hormones for medical reasons

I suspect you will be waiting a very long time for those links.

Lazypoolday · 11/10/2018 19:02

There is no POINT pointing it out to people who can't see! There's been posts deleted on this thread but apparently there's none on here. hmm

Two posts have been deleted on this thread. Rampant transphobia you say?

PlantsArePeopleToo · 11/10/2018 19:03

But you are diverting again aren't you because you know fine well we're asking questions that make you think twice.

So I will ask again. In what way is Danile Muscato a woman?

In the time you've spent arguing with us about how you're not going to answer you could have have just bloody answered us by now.

And if you really do believe Danielle is a woman it should be a really simple enough question for you to answer.

VerbeenaBeeks · 11/10/2018 19:03

You sometimes hang on the coat tails of other people's arguments but you have nothing to offer yourself.

Because.There. Is. No. Point. Have done so in the past, if you don't agree, you're wrong and it all starts up.

Datun · 11/10/2018 19:04

As far as I know, Pips Bunce doesn't identify as a woman. Despite using the female facilities when she wears a frock, (and the male facilities when he wears a suit) and taking an award for women in business.

Bunce is a transvestite, or gender fluid as he calls it.

Anyone who can read about Bunce and not see the rank sexism is part of the problem.

Ereshkigal · 11/10/2018 19:04

They're all diverting. Because they don't have one solitary substantive point to make apart from "TWAW!"

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 19:04

Rampant transphobia you say?

When you have a hammer you treat everything like a nail.

MissSusanSays · 11/10/2018 19:05

Pointing out that a woman is an adult human female and that women’s concerns and needs are different to those who are transwomen I.e- still biologically male, should not be controversial.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 11/10/2018 19:05

In what way is Danielle Muscato a woman?

VerbeenaBeeks · 11/10/2018 19:05

Two posts have been deleted on this thread. Rampant transphobia you say?

AGAIN, there's not as much on this thread as there's more voices disagreeing with you as you're out on the main boards instead of the echo chamber.

Ereshkigal · 11/10/2018 19:05

Doesn't Bunce call Bunceself "a proud husband" or something?

OunceOfFlounce · 11/10/2018 19:07

Was a really interesting thread about the issues but now seems to be wild, vague accusations of transphobia.

I think some posters know you cannot prove a negative, which is why they're so keen to throw around said vague accusations of transphobia (how would you prove you're not irl, let alone on an internet forum) rather than make actual arguments.
