To think this “hilarious” card is actually depressing?

I have 2 DDs and hate how this kind of crap is being normalised. Fucking hilarious Layla Hmm

This thread is absolutely ridiculous!

AuntBeastie · 05/10/2018 12:03

*Surely is the do no harm bit that is the issue - that bit makes it sound coercive. Add it onto the end of anything and it sounds wrong rather than funny:

just a sip it wont do you any harm
just a puff it wont do you any harm
just a sniff it wont do you any harm

In a consensual relationship there is nothing wrong with anal sex at all - the problem is adding the do no harm bit takes it from being consensual to coercive. That is the bit that isnt funny and is feeding into the idea that boys are expecting it as a given.*

Totally agree

freshstart24 · 05/10/2018 12:16

I'm not a fan of the card, just not funny to me. I don't have an issue with consenting adults engaging in anal sex though.

Interestingly, I saw a card from the same company in my Facebook feed which I thought was awful. It was a birthday card and had a picture of a kebab on the front, with a caption along the lines of 'congratulations on the anniversary of the day you came out of your mum's foof and left it looking like a badly packed kebab'.

To me that's pretty nasty, and distasteful.

BertrandRussell · 05/10/2018 12:46

“In fairness, that’s because I was replying to Bertrand who seems to be obsessed with the idea that teenage girls need to be wrapped up in cotton wool from the moment they reach puberty, because all boys (probably even the gay ones) all want to sexually assault them and take pictures of it.”

Hey, wow! You are so incredibly good at reading my mind- yep, that’s exactly what I have been saying all along!

Ps. You are aware of the concept of the straw man argument?

Decanter · 05/10/2018 12:55

This thread is riddled with straw men Bertrand. HmmSad

I appreciate your views.

Whilst there may be teenage girls pressured into anal sex (like any sex act) there are other teenage girls, or young women, trying to make informed choices about their sex lives and absorbing shaming, homophobic and ill informed attitudes like the ones in these threads.

Teach teenage girls how to have the sex they want safely, don't ban silly references to anal sex because you personally think it's gross...

Blackoutblinds · 05/10/2018 13:00

When I grew up in catholic Ireland anal sex was the big thing so as not to get pregnant.

Heavy petting. Blow jobs. And anal because no babies and you were still a virgin.

Mandarine · 05/10/2018 13:03

Yes, missmoz, because we all know that the prospect of anal sex is naturally something at the forefront of all teenage girls minds Confused

Funny how it never occurred to any woman in my generation (pre- internet porn), or scarcely any woman since the dawn of time, I expect.

Padparadscha · 05/10/2018 13:04

Oh yes, it’s me drawing an argument from nothing here. Not the op or others who read a crude card and decided to go on ‘won’t anyone think of the children (as long as they’re straight girls)’ rant. It’s a card aimed at adults to give to other adults, but that never stops some posters shoehorning their own agenda in at any opportunity. Never mind the awful amount of ignorance around the idea of anal sex.

This thread is an embarrassment of misinformation and bigotry, mixed in with trying to find the lowest denominator. Well done op, just because you didn’t like crass humour.

Blackoutblinds · 05/10/2018 13:07

It’s a gross card with a rude message. That’s what that company do, card wise. That’s their usp.

The card is half of a long established rude rhyme about anal sex.

That saying didn’t just appear in the last 10 years. It’s been around for at least 40 years to my knowledge.

Wherever there's a hole, someone will want to stick a cock in it.

And/or a tongue. And/or fingers. And/or household items... The list goes on.

I was a teenager before the days of internet porn. Anal sex was a thing that teenager girls did back then.

DistanceCall · 05/10/2018 13:17

You must have led a very sheltered life.

LikeIcare · 05/10/2018 13:18

And mine. No doubt that porn has made it more common but those claiming it didn't happen before porn became widespread are wrong.

NerrSnerr · 05/10/2018 13:19

I do find it disconcerting that there doesn't seem to be much concern for the sexual health of teenage boys. Just the girls. Why is that?

Mandarine · 05/10/2018 13:22

I would not say I’ve lived a particularly sheltered life. I’m in my 40s and this was unheard of in my teens or 20s. As was ejeculating in a girls face, forced bjs, etc which are now fairly “standard” expectations because of internet porn.

Blackoutblinds · 05/10/2018 13:23

Tit wanks and facials were on the go 40 years ago in catholic Ireland ...

DistanceCall · 05/10/2018 13:24

No, you mean, "I hadn't heard of it in my teens or 20s".

PhilomenaButterfly · 05/10/2018 13:24

Why would you give someone this card? Confused There's nothing wrong with it though.

NerrSnerr · 05/10/2018 13:25

I am in my late 30s. Anal sex and ejaculating on face was certainly a thing in my teens and 20s. Forced blow jobs not so much and is assault and needs to be reported if it's happening.

Just because you didn't experience or hear of something doesn't mean it didn't happen.

BertrandRussell · 05/10/2018 13:25

“I do find it disconcerting that there doesn't seem to be much concern for the sexual health of teenage boys. Just the girls. Why is that?”

I am very concerned for the sexual health of all teenagers. But the message of mainstream porn about anal sex is currently targeted at girls.

BertrandRussell · 05/10/2018 13:26

And of course anal sex has always been a “thing”. But not an expectation.

KathDayKnight50 · 05/10/2018 13:26

I'm 50 and had a friend who had a couple of guys who requested anal and she was happy to try it. It ended up not being her thing so she didn't do it any more.

KathDayKnight50 · 05/10/2018 13:26

This was when we were 18/19 years old.
