AIBU?
Things that weirdly give you thrills ?
Cheddarsmedders · 05/10/2018 00:11
Pulling up weeds by the root - gives me shivers. I can’t even walk past them in the street.
PickAChew · 05/10/2018 00:12
Pinging off the little clips on the top of a paint tin.
And putting them on again.
IntensiveCareBear · 05/10/2018 00:15
Buying stationary.
Opening a pack of biscuits that have that red tearing tape.
Putting the fire on for the first time in winter.
UpstartCrow · 05/10/2018 00:18
Peeling back a yoghurt lid. I like the way it separates from the pot, and the noise it makes, so I do it slooowly.
JellieEllie · 05/10/2018 00:23
Picking my mascara off at the end of the day. I love finding a clump of it and the feeling when it comes away
Dontfeellikeamillenial · 05/10/2018 00:23
Whilst I'm sitting on the train, watching people run for it and missing it
Bit sadistic me
PhilODox · 05/10/2018 00:26
Stroking the side of brand new Lego bricks, because they're so smooth and lovely
Spanielmadness · 05/10/2018 00:31
The optician looking right in my eye. So close, yet you cannot touch each other. It’s just full-on in that moment, until they swivel away and everything’s back to normal social convention of interactions again. Also the dentist, to a lesser extent.
It’s kind of a sexual thrill!
Potatoandleeek · 05/10/2018 00:39
When you lift up a steamy iron and it makes that kssshk kssshk sound
Seniorschoolmum · 05/10/2018 00:45
A decade ago, my electricity supplier was SSE. They were hopeless, they changed my meter, lost the old one didn’t issue me with a bill for a couple of years despite me asking. They were a complete basket case.
Then I left. married, had dc, discovered dh was not dear at all, separated, came home, got a job, bought another house.
And my electricity supplier is now SSE. In the first month, they issued me with 7 bills
Still mad as a box of frogs but oddly reassuring.
ShovingLeopard · 05/10/2018 00:54
Pulling the foil off a new jar of Millicano. A pleasing mix of coffee aroma and a fluid mechanical motion that gets all the foil off in one smoother move. I could stab DH if he gets there first.
IntensiveCareBear · 05/10/2018 00:54
Potato I applaud your written rendition of a steaming iron. Came across very realistically.
BitOfFun · 05/10/2018 00:59
UpstartCrow, I recently managed to peel a yoghurt lid off without breaking the membrane. I feel that my work here on earth is done.

MelonBuffet · 05/10/2018 01:01
Mopping
I’m not even houseproud. I’m a bit slovenly, but when I do mop it gives me the fanny gallops and I wonder why don’t do it more often!
DixieTrix · 05/10/2018 01:10
The piercing film of an oven ready/microwaveable meal, stabbing it far more times than necessary just for the thrill.
WTFIsAGleepglorp · 05/10/2018 01:15
Stopping a double decker bus at a pedestrian crossing.
LauderSyme · 05/10/2018 01:17
Finishing any sort of bath / beauty product. I cut open whatever it comes in, if possible, and find it so satisfying when the last drop is used up.
Also the deep roar and rumble of certain aeroplane engines. The Red Arrows get me really turned on Apparently though, that is a thing.
Katedotness1963 · 05/10/2018 01:29
Smoothing all the wrinkles out of my Tunnocks Teacake wrapper.
Rolling up bubble wrap and then twisting it so there are lots of pops at once.
Reading the paper first. I won’t bother if I see someone else reading it before me.
DarkDarkNight · 05/10/2018 01:35
ShovingLeopard beat me to it, but also peeling the lid off a new jar of coffee, even better if it’s not a peel off lid and you can pop it with a teaspoon. I sulk if someone gets there first.
DemocracyDiesInDarkness · 05/10/2018 01:37
@MelonBuffet that's made me laugh out loud in a public place! 🤣🤣🤣
Rebecca36 · 05/10/2018 01:47
Hearing the Proclaimers singing, "Five Hundred Miles". It sends shivers down my spine and I always end up crying (with joy). Don't know why, I'm no Scot.
JellieEllie · 05/10/2018 02:04
When I hoover up bits. The sound it makes when they are sucked up the tube. I have been known to throw uncooked rice on the kitchen floor just for the thrill.
Also if you accidentally hoover up a sock .... that "thwoooomph"
