Pulling up weeds by the root - gives me shivers. I can’t even walk past them in the street.

I love getting splinters out, I'm very gentle with the needle and when then little black tip of wood/thorn etc pokes up through the skin and I can pull it all cleanly out with tweezers.....lovely! My favourite cleaning job is taking the nozzle of the hoover and sucking all the crumbs out of the toaster crumb tray in a satisfying line.

Please contact me for all your splinter/crumb extractions!

Thunderstorms

Using one of those spring epilators on my face, especially when i pull out a bristly hair

Pulling out long eyebrow hairs

Squeezing spots/blackheads

Peeling away candle wax when it has solidified

Peeling pva glue from your fingers (anybody else know pva as marvin?)

Picking the skin on my lips

Getting into a freshly made bed

Removing the end from a struck match, then writing using the matchstick.

Examining the sebaceous filaments on a freshly removed nose strip!

Pumpkinmoon · 06/10/2018 23:05

The sound of the first few raindrops landing on a tent when you’re snuggled inside. 🏕

Myusername101z · 06/10/2018 23:09

@bearbehind spent past ten minutes laughing at your comment and too embarrassed too tell boyfriend why haha

Halfling · 06/10/2018 23:39

Pulling out chin hair

bippo · 06/10/2018 23:47

Peeling dried in paint brush bristles or hair/ thread from dried paint, especially gloss or varnish. Amazing! X

Using one of those spring epilators on my face, especially when i pull out a bristly hair. My DP loves using mine on the bridge of his nose - you can almost hear the twang when he gets a really strong one Envy < not envy. I’ve offered to laser it for him with my IPL machine but he enjoys it too much!!

Receiving post with an un-franked stamp.

Twiddling the webs between a dog’s toes.
The feeling of hot candle wax on skin.
Brushing something really soft against your lips.
That “oh my god I LOVE this song” feeling.
The softness of freshly shaved legs in the bath.
That indescribably sweet autumn smell.
The sound of a log fire.
A toilet so clean you could eat your dinner off it.
Squeezing snapdragons to make them “talk”.
The colour of a fresh new conker.
Cleaning ears.
Rubbing your eyes until you see patterns.
Pulling out one of those really fine long hairs that seem to grow somewhere random in about five minutes flat. One minute smooth skin, the next “hello freakish long fine hair waving from my forehead?!”. Just me?! 🤔

YES to the smell of extinguished matches.
Remote control buttons.
Diamond patterns on the bottom of a pool.
Perfect ripples of sand on the shore.
Nose pore strips (gross but fascinating).

When cooking/baking, after cracking open raw eggs,
I love crunching up the empty eggshell halves in my hands.
Really fun when there are 5 or 6 all at once. Smile
(Eggshells after peeling boiled eggs just ain't the same, though.)

Ice cream, when it starts to go melty.

Writing on a chalkboard.

Washing my feet during the day.

And as several other PPs - fresh clean sheets
...preferably after a bath.

and, clearing blackheads.

PanchoBarnes · 07/10/2018 03:05

...just to clarify, it's the lovely feeling after I wash my feet - not necessarily the act itself, of washing them.
Although, that's not bad either.

VinoISVeritas · 07/10/2018 06:37

Burying my nose in my cats fur. He loves it and then you can put your ear on him and hear purring thunder.
Being inside my girlfriend and coming in her, and feeling her absolutely love it.
Rain on hot pavement.
Petrol.
Cooking a steak perfectly.
Making up recipes and they turn out good.
Finding good wine
The smell of marmalade being made

Teacher22 · 07/10/2018 06:39

That crack the ice makes when you pour the gin on it.

DeniseRoyal · 07/10/2018 09:46

I'm a picker...spots, scabs, dry skin, my daughters bogies when she was little..I am obsessed...and I LOVE squeezing blackheads Grin

JustJoss39 · 07/10/2018 10:29

De nitting the kids and popping the nits, making thumb hats with crisp packets. Using foot peel kits and peeling the skin off (family find it disgusting) brushing my long haired dog and getting the knots off her GrinGrin

The optician looking right in my eye. So close, yet you cannot touch each other. It’s just full-on in that moment, until they swivel away and everything’s back to normal social convention of interactions again

This came a long way back in the thread but so reminded me of my last visit to an optician. She was getting up close and personal, gratuitously recommending I eat plenty of kale as an antidote to a slightly crusty eye lid (!), and at the same time she was blasting my face with halitosis more lethal than I could ever have imagined... it wasn't til much later I thought of an appropriate response to that remark. I'm glad I kept quiet at the time - but I go elsewhere now...

Loads of posts above resonate with me, and contrary to what I've read elsewhere, I always get a thrill as my teeth bite into the squeakiness of green beans and the skin of steamed courgettes.

Mysa74 · 07/10/2018 15:12

Coming back to a completely empty house.... I love them all dearly but silence is golden Smile

ChuckyMonkey · 07/10/2018 15:30

Cleaning the lint from the tumble dryer. Not sure there is anything on earth more satisfying!

belinda789 · 07/10/2018 15:50

I used to know someone who liked to get a book from the library and fill in all the 'O's with a pencil...…
NO NOT ME. I'd rather jump on a balloon...…..

Babybearsporij · 07/10/2018 18:22

Peeling sunburn. Especially when a massive sheet comes off all in one go and makes the peely noise.

ScottChegg · 07/10/2018 18:28

@ShotsFired No, not sure what that means!

Iamtheoneandonly2018 · 07/10/2018 19:33

The smell of fresh air first thing in a morning in spring or summer.

Being inside all snuggled up when it's raining / snowing or during a thunderstorm.

Creosote on wood and fresh tarmac.

Clean PJ's after a bath and clean bedding.

Looking at a calm sea when there's hardly anyone else around.

Freshly baked bread and butter- mmm.

And( maybe too old for it now) but the thrill of a rollercoaster ride!

The80sweregreat · 07/10/2018 19:42

I've bought a plug for the bath that collects the gunk and hair. Cleaning that is so satisfying!
Shaving my legs.
