I can't access via desk top only iPhone/iPad. Does that mean I can't hide the topic? Active is full of it and it doesn't interest me.

SpoonBlender · 02/10/2018 00:11

@LEMtheoriginal Click this - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/topic-choice - and choose things from the left, send them to the right to set up your exclude list.

BackforGood · 02/10/2018 00:15

Next to 'Talk' (in big letters at op) is a little arro in a circle.
Click on that and you get a drop down menu.
Go to 'Customise' and it gives you the option to hide threads you don't want to see.

SpoonBlender · 02/10/2018 00:16

@KnittedFrog Use the web browser on your iPad. If you don't know your password, set a new one at the login page, "Forgotten your password?" link.

LEMtheoriginal · 02/10/2018 00:16

Yay did it thanks

If you don't want to read the same conversation every single day, apparently you think women shouldn't have been given the vote Hmm

Agreed this is exactly why people can't be arsed with the topic.

Perfectly1mperfect · 02/10/2018 00:30

I'm going to hide it as well. I've read some of the threads, if people dare to not agree or even ask a question they all gang up or accuse the person of being goady. Hiding it now.Wink

Knittedfrog · 02/10/2018 00:33

Brilliant, thanks spoon. Will be hiding it first thing in the morning!

clary · 02/10/2018 00:34

I knew this would be feminism.

I am totally a feminist in every way, but yy the topic takes up so much if my active convos with threads I don't want to read, thanks.

I also hide (hid them years ago) ante and post natal topics, I had babies, y'know, but I don't want to have those baby convos now, thanks.

Thanks op what a relief!

Knittedfrog · 02/10/2018 00:56

All hidden, active looks so much better now!

WorraLiberty · 02/10/2018 10:05

Stupid question alert Blush

If you hide a topic from your laptop, should it then be automatically hidden when you log in from your phone?

WorraLiberty · 02/10/2018 10:06

I tried hiding a topic just to experiment but I can still see it on my phone?

Smishsmash · 02/10/2018 10:13

I bet it's the feminists board. There are a lot of vile comments and threads on there every day.

WorraLiberty · 02/10/2018 10:19

I've done it now. Just needed to log out and in again.

afrikat · 02/10/2018 10:24

I'm going to do this too it's the one topic that makes me want to leave MN so if I can hide it that may sort out the issue. Thanks OP!

Celebelly · 02/10/2018 10:26

Ooh I had no idea this feature even existed! Thanks!

AuntBeastie · 02/10/2018 10:28

@flashbac I am a strident feminist but I’ve hidden the topic on MN because I don’t recognise the feminism I find here, which is virtually synonymous with transphobia and so obsessed with transgenderism that other seriously important feminist topics - such as abortion rights, sex education, rape, gender-specific racism, gender-specific ableism, immigration, wage gap, mental health etc all barely get a look in.

The fact that you’ve turned a thread where an OP who is struggling has asked for help into a complaint about transgenderism is illustrative of why so many people see the feminist boards as exclusionary, hostile and single-minded to the extreme.

By all means engage in the 50 daily threads on transgenderism if you want to, but don’t accuse other posters of being bad women because it isn’t an environment they’re willing to tolerate.

loobylou10 · 02/10/2018 10:31

Hidden - yay!

Celebelly · 02/10/2018 10:34

@AuntBeastie That was an excellent post!

WorraLiberty · 02/10/2018 10:52

I missed flashbac's post earlier

It's a bit weird that anyone would think hiding a topic on Mumsnet, equates to sticking your fingers in your ears and saying 'blah blah'.

There are plenty of feminism topics and forums all over the internet.

Mumsnet isn't the be all and end all when it comes to feminism.

TinyTwat · 02/10/2018 11:03

@AuntBeastie Thank you, you summed up exactly my thoughts on this topic. Brilliant post!

LEMtheoriginal · 02/10/2018 20:54

Thankyou x

@auntbeastie thank you! I was wishing that all trans whinges came with an automatic trigger warning after accidentally clicking on one where the title didn't warn me. And I would describe myself as a dyed in the wool feminist.

Very late to the party but thought this thread was about a chocolate bar
