Obviously don’t know the full facts, but the photos
Show the police being pretty heavy handed.

They look Muslim, so presume don’t drink alcohol, they have regularly buy the water from other branches of Tesco.
This behaviour by the police looks like the sort of treatment meted out by racist officers towards African Americans in the US.

I am disgusted by the thuggish behaviour of the police and I hope Mr. Hussain succeeds in his complaint to the PCC.

YABVU. Police officer asked them to leave the store, they refused & started acting aggressively. This can be seen in the way they are talking & their body language. Police officers acted accordingly to bring the situation under control. The male begins to actively resist the officer resulting in officer being assaulted. The officers acted very professionally to get the situation resolved efficiently. How would you have dealt with the situation? Perhaps you should contact your local force & offer your expertise & knowledge on this subject you clearly know nothing about!

Redglitter · 27/09/2018 16:32

The buying the water is completely irrelevant. They were arrested for assaulting a police officer and so they should be

Love how the OP admits to.bot knowing the facts yet brands the cops as thuggish

BuntyII · 27/09/2018 16:33

It's not quite the same as police brutality in the states is it OP? They were being aggressive pains in the arse and were arrested as a result. Most of us can tell that from the video despite the fact that whoever took it cut most of it - and I'm guessing what they cut isn't flattering to the pair in question.

Anyway, have to go. I'm videoing a scene in my local Costcutters where I'm the victim of racial abuse because they won't sell me 12 packets of paracetamol.

GeeLondon · 27/09/2018 16:33

Police did seem from the video I saw that the police were heavy handed however again haven't seen the full video

WorriesGalore · 27/09/2018 16:35

The OP is trying their best to stir. But no, OP. THEY were in the wrong and not Tesco or the Police. And this is not the US and no one is going to march for Mr Husain.

Hoppinggreen · 27/09/2018 16:35

Utter twaddle
They were probably buying it to sell on and even if they weren’t they were trying to buy more than they were allowed and then got aggressive.
I’m sure the parents of black boys shot by racist police in America wouldn’t appreciate the comparison.

KlutzyDraconequus · 27/09/2018 16:35

About Me Hussain:

The self-employed online retailer said: ‘To be honest I’m absolutely shocked something like this could ever happen

Self employed online retailer...
Bottles of water in half price offer..
Wanted to buy a trolley full of just that water..

Hmm...

I may be getting 5 after putting 2 2s together... But I may see why Tesco said no..

Atlantea · 27/09/2018 16:39

No one needs that much water. Buy a bottle of Robinson’s next time, you prat.

this! If you are asked to leave, then you should leave

(but you cant resell squash for the same profit as half price Volvic if thats what they were planning)

Raven88 · 27/09/2018 16:43

If something is on offer they usually have a max amount. If you cause a disturbance you you are usually asked to leave. He assaulted an officer so he deserved to be arrested. Why are you posting fake news?

Ginorchoc · 27/09/2018 16:45

He said in the video he isn’t a retailer and apparently he is, He wife kept screaming stop punching me when the officer was trying to restrain her, you can see he wasn’t punching her. Shame we can’t see the whole unedited video. All over flavoured water, Jesus wept.

WomanAKAAdultHumanFemale · 27/09/2018 16:45

Because the original post was meant to be goady.

Asterado · 27/09/2018 16:49

I reckon there’s a good career waiting for you at the Daily Wail OP.....

MrsMWA · 27/09/2018 16:49

Isn’t the fresh Pennine water which comes out of every tap in Rochdale good enough? HRTFT stopped at his GrinGrin

MrsMWA · 27/09/2018 16:49

*this

SnuggyBuggy · 27/09/2018 16:50

They seem a right pair of twats

ICantBelieveIDidThis · 27/09/2018 16:50

If they wanted that much water, why didn't they go to a wholesalers?

There have been instances of people trying to bulk buy special offers for their own shops.

WorraLiberty · 27/09/2018 16:52

I wonder what the pupils and parents at Mahira Hussain's school are making of all this.

I imagine their social media accounts have gone into meltdown!

Sophiesdog11 · 27/09/2018 16:57

Well I buy flavoured water, and prefer Tesco at the moment for various reasons. Given that I am not always near a Tesco, I tend to buy a minimum of 12 bottles at a time, sometimes more.

My Dd currently works in a Tesco, so sometimes picks me up a load of bottles at the end of her shift.

Why should bulk buying mean that it is being sold online? Why not just wanting to bulk buy for convenience, not wanting to go and buy more in a few days.

People saying don't buy it, drink other stuff, is irrelevant. It is what I drink, I dont drink alcohol either, not keen on squash and hate plain water. I dont tell anyone else what they should or shouldn't drink.

Maybe the lady does drink a couple of bottles a day, I sometimes do.

Gileswithachainsaw · 27/09/2018 16:57

There are usually limits on what you can buy per person when stuff is on offer.

Bottles of water
Those big boxes of daz
Cartons of fruit juice etc

All stuff that is often bought In excess to sell on and usually capped.

Howber I bet they made the assumption they owned a store based on stereo types which they won't admit to.

He however seemed to be trying the old trick.of appearing to be coopertive and present whilst simultaneously being confrontational/agressive/ cocky .

She was yelling "don't punch me " when no one was even moving Hmm

Very conveniently edited footage Hmm

SnuggyBuggy · 27/09/2018 16:58

Teaching doesn't strike me as a good career for her. Does she throw hissy fits like that at school?

downthestrada · 27/09/2018 16:58

I wonder what the pupils and parents at Mahira Hussain's school are making of all this.

I can imagine!

It seems they were probably telling lies and were probably going to sell the water online. They also probably should have left when they were refused the sale. But, from the video, it looks like the police officer swung for him first (although it looks heavily edited).

I've definitely bought more than 10 bottles of water at once and not had any issues.

LimitIsUp · 27/09/2018 16:59

The bloke is a bit mouthy and cocky - however what justifies the policeman suddenly taking a swing at his head (clearly there in the video clip). I found that shocking from a police officer

NoLeslie · 27/09/2018 17:00

Worraloadashite.

Kelsoooo · 27/09/2018 17:01

They edited the footage and still look like dicks.
There is, and always has been maximum purchase levels (in this case, 20).

ittakes2 · 27/09/2018 17:01

I went to watch this fully expecting to side with Mr Hussein. But I think he was being aggie and things did not need to escalate - most people would have walked away. When items are offered on promotion - its normal for there to be a limit so there is enough for everyone. Nothing to stop them re-entering the store though 5 minutes later and going to another till to buy another 20! They could have just done that. I don't think this is racial at all and I think its sad that its portrayed as that.
