To think adults singing this at conference, sound childish and idiotic?

OP posts:
Jeanclaudejackety · 26/09/2018 20:38

Let's all be transgender Muslim unicorns, that's the future is it not

dontbesillyhenry · 26/09/2018 20:40

Oh snog. What did I say about those 8 year olds again?

ThefusilliJerry · 26/09/2018 20:43

Unfair to 8 year olds. I’ve known many and none of them were anti Semitic.
It’s not an age problem , it’s a brain - and heart - problem.

MeAgainSparkle · 26/09/2018 20:49

...you’re an utter twunt. Oh sorry OP, I thought we were playing a game of finishing your sentence.

donquixotedelamancha · 26/09/2018 20:55

And I would think the same if it was - Oh Theresa May.

Somehow people singing that seems less likely to me.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 26/09/2018 21:00

Well that’s what the Labour party are now

Membership is full of idiots who ignore their leaders anti Semitic stance/remarks and will him leader of the party, think they are part of some sort of revolution and that the establishment are terrified Hmm

Three fucking years wasted at this most crucial point in our history

Still keeps the Tories in power for longer well done Jeremy Hmm

OfaFrenchmind2 · 26/09/2018 21:09

Somehow people singing that seems less likely to me. Maybe it is because the Cult of personnality is a purely socialist tendency?

ThefusilliJerry · 26/09/2018 21:14

Don’t agree. Look at trump. It’s the same syndrome. People decide they like him, no truth, no fact is to be allowed to change their minds. Inconvenient truths are smears/ fake news.
It attracts people who find thinking tiring.

Snog · 26/09/2018 21:24

Being patronising is counterproductive

ThefusilliJerry · 26/09/2018 21:27

Being anti Semitic, on the other hand, wins lots of people to your cause.
Let’s not enquire too deeply what sort of people, eh?

5Yearplan4000 · 26/09/2018 21:42

Plenty of anti semites in the left of Labour. They subscribe to every Jewish conspiracy theory going. Much is hidden , there are
people with scary views out there in Labour right now and the even more scary thing is they are still very much in the ascendancy.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 26/09/2018 21:52

Someone upthread mentioned the red flag
And even The Red Flag has me feeling almost sorry for Jezza. I can’t but help imagining his affable Mother in Law always calling him Foxy when all he really wants to be called is Wolfie. Yes, you do have to be old to get that reference. Power to the people!

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 26/09/2018 21:56

Yes sadly there is 5Year plan and they think others believe it’s all about their concern for the Palestinian people

I’m glad I am not associated with the Labour Party anymore I don’t want Jeremy to think that my membership was support for him and his anti Semitic views

John McDonnell must have been disappointed today seeing that the idiots are still hanging on Jeremy’s ever last word Grin he certainly seemed to be edging towards leadership himself

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 26/09/2018 21:58

I get the reference Judas Grin

DoctorTwo · 26/09/2018 22:22

Thanks @OfaFrenchmind you reminded me of this classic.

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 26/09/2018 22:54

Plenty of anti semites in the left of Labour.

But many more in the Conservative party.

"YouGov polls done in 2015 and again in 2017 found that Tory voters are more likely to hold negative views about Jews than Labour voters. For example, in 2015, 31% Conservatives thought Jews chase money more than other Britons. In 2017, the figure went down to 22%. For Labour the figures were 22% and 14%.

A 2017 study looking at British attitudes towards Jews by the Institute for Jewish Policy Research found that 30% of the general population hold at least one ‘anti-Semitic attitude’. Figures on the left are similar to or below the population mean, while those on the right are significantly more likely to hold at least one anti-Semitic attitude. Such facts do not stop the oft repeated accusations against the left."

Conveniently ignored by the media, of course.

Theperfectchangeling · 26/09/2018 22:55

Ugh, YANBU I am sick of the ‘cult of JC’.

Poloshot · 26/09/2018 23:02

Yes very odd behaviour, but what do you expect I suppose at the Labour conference.

AnalUnicorn · 26/09/2018 23:29

It’s very cultish and definitely wanky.

VeryBerrySeptember · 26/09/2018 23:32

"MyDarling" I don't think for one moment that the Labour party ruling class are typical of their voters!

VeryBerrySeptember · 26/09/2018 23:33

I initially thought Livingstone as suffering an illness.. yes I was a bit naive.

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 26/09/2018 23:41

Jusf thought I would let you know op that I am officially cross with you. I had never heard this song, so I googled it. Now not only is the fucking thing stuck in my head, but the website I used downloaded jc pic to my screen saver on my phone.🤣🤣🤣

Light hearted hate, just incase not clear

Nothing embarrassing about it, political conferences always used to include singing.

The word "rediculous" is in the urban dictionary.

TheSageofOnions · 27/09/2018 00:42

Don't they always end the Labour Conference with The Red Flag (or did Blair put a stop to it)?
