My friend thinks it's unfair on the bridesmaids/bride?

Decent behaviour 😂

I really hope op has ignored the (few, thankfully) totally ridiculous responses on here. In real life people will only see a little girl wearing a perfectly suitable party dress.

For the posters who would be upset, disrespected, feel like the attention is drawn away - get help.

Bluelady · 25/09/2018 17:02

Nothing screams wedding except the description on the Matalan site. It's completely bonkers. All anyone will see is a little girl in a pretty dress.

unicorncow · 25/09/2018 17:07

I'd let her wear it, if the bride has an issue with it then the Bride has issues herself I'd say!!

Leobynature · 25/09/2018 17:08

OMG! She is 4. If it was my wedding I would think she looked absolutely gorgeous

lauramaywharton · 25/09/2018 17:31

If I had a girl I'd make her look like a bridesmaid then 24 7 as I love all the sparkly party dresses in monsoon lol she's a girl at the end of the day and it's a chance to dress up in a lovely dress I'd let her wear what she wants she's only 4 do people expect you to stick her in an everyday boring dress or jeans and a top? It's an event so let her dress for it.

Breezebutter · 25/09/2018 17:33

It’s a really beautiful dress OP! Wedding ‘rules’ are too crazy for me. I’d let someone wear that to mineSmile

ToftyAC · 25/09/2018 17:50

It’s a little girl’s dress. I seriously don’t see the problem.

SquidgyBanana · 25/09/2018 18:09

Why have you used an affiliate link for this? Doesn’t seem very honest of you op

It’s a link that earns commissions if someone clicks and then buys... sometimes they have a 30 day cookie... so anyone who clicks that link will have a 30 day cookie so If they buy from Matalan in that time the person who owns the affiliate account..(probably/possibly) the op would earn a commission... very clever idea but pretty deceptive too

SquidgyBanana · 25/09/2018 18:15

You can tell as when you click the link it runs through ‘awin’ bloggers Use them buy they have to declare it

Thelastredwinegum · 25/09/2018 18:15

How can you tell it's an affiliate link @SquidgyBanana ?
(Genuinely interested big trying to cause an argument)

SquidgyBanana · 25/09/2018 18:15

*but

SquidgyBanana · 25/09/2018 18:16

I’m not trying to cause an argument either but I felt like it was sneaky

Strongmummy · 25/09/2018 18:33

It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. She’ll look cute. But then again I’m bloody relaxed about such things

ktp100 · 25/09/2018 18:36

If you buy her a lovely new dress and tell her she can't wear it to the wedding she'll be desperate to, then you get to allow it and she'll think you're ace. Win win.

PollyFlinderz · 25/09/2018 18:37

Squidgy I’ve no idea as to what you mean but believe me if I wanted to buy that dress I’d be able to find it without any trouble at all.

Geraldine170 · 25/09/2018 18:39

Well spotted squdgy

MaggieAndHopey · 25/09/2018 18:43

That is well sneaky! Well spotted Squidgy. I wonder how many clicks that dress has got in 12 pages - I know I clicked on it.

Yb23487643 · 25/09/2018 18:44

I wouldn’t, I’d choose another pretty dress. She may cry circa shirt while but kids forget. And she’s old enough to understand a bit. It’s not the end of the world but I’d spend the whole day embarrassed

GenericHamster · 25/09/2018 18:45

Mumsnet auto puts affiliate links in, I believe.

I wouldn't dress my dd in that for a wedding because I'd think the bride might think we had wanted dd to be a flower girl when she wasn't. I'd also be worried she'd upstage the actual flower girls. Follow the same rules for adults- cream or white dresses to be avoided!
I would go for a bright coloured floral dress like this or this or
this

Claredemoon · 25/09/2018 18:51

I would have been delighted if a little girl had worn this to my wedding, without a headress she won't look like a flower girl but she is 4 why would any bride care even if she did!
