To wonder why so many people have joined this so called "hinch army"

My facebook seems to have been taken over by these people from my school days. I had no clue what it all was until I saw someone tag a women called mrs hinch on instagram and from what I can tell its just a woman who doesn't work who is massively obsessed with cleaning her house, calls her dusters and sponges by actual names and talks too much throwing in a a "maaaaatteee". every now and then. (which is really irritating)

These people actually watch her clean her home and then refer to themselves as the hinch army.

Just wondered if I am I missing something here or is this a ridiculous amount of effort from her to film herself cleaning every surface in her home, and a massive waste of time for those who tune in daily to see what she's cleaning today, then rush out and buy the same products, just clean your own homes instead of watching this woman do hers.

If I clean my house Ill say I cleaned my house. These people say they've just hinched their homes

Bakedbeans - lucky you that you don't feel the need to follow. People aren't stupid, they know how to clean. They can lack motivation, whether it be from feeling down or overwhelmed. If she's making people feel like they want to finally start trying to sort themselves out a bit, inspiring them, being fun, that's surely not a bad thing in your eyes?

Since when do most normal functioning adults need guidance on how to clean a house?

I’m a cleaner for a living. You would be amazed how little some people know about maintaining a home. Like opening windows prevents mould, for example. Or even, like cleaning mould off the wall, is how you get rid of it.

Feels like we are watching a social experiment.

Kewqueue - try looking at the stories at the top. They're your videos. She hasn't done much for a couple of days though as she's in hospital.

TBF though, if you weren’t raised with cleaning as part of your life then how would you know unless you go looking for the information? We aren’t born knowing this stuff. I suppose watching a woman do a daily video is as helpful as googling for information.

Rainbowandsmiles do you not get bored of derailing threads because you don't like what's being said, this is the 3rd I've seen just in 2 days, starting arguments about having an opinion because 'it's not nice' blah blah blah. We all get it, you're Mrs Hinches new found superfan, probably best to not visit threads about her if it upsets you so much because-and this shouldn't be be a revelation to you- not everyone thinks she's wonderful!

I'm going to admit that a couple of years ago, I thought I would try the all-grey decor. It made the house look so cold and clinical. Glad I got rid of it, it was so depressing.

Exactly, so you don't need to keep relentlessly posting in argument with people through a thread. It's really irritating why not just say your piece and move on you don't have to argue with every single comment because you don't agree

I don’t follow her, it’s not my thing. A quick glance at the account gives me the impression that it is How Clean is Your House for the TOWIE generation.

I did check out Mrs Hinch the other day as a lot of stuff about her was cropping up in my circles but I didnt really get it tbh, the sheer amount of chemicals and waste she produces scared me and all that grey isnt really my thing. But I can totally get why some people would enjoy this sort of thing, I found TOMM over a MN post and that has been so helpful. I have severe anxiety and re-occurring depression but now I have a structure and method in place I feel a lot less stressed about house work. Before I just never seemed to be able to get on top of it despite feeling like I was always cleaning.

OP AIBU to not get why people like Hinch Army?
