I got this from an antique shop and I love it but my DH is not too sure and I want to know if it is just me that likes it. It is nearly 80 years old.

omg tether my grandma had the blue version of that. I remember laying on it when I was ill. It felt all cold!

Reminds me of the carpet Mum and Dad had at home when I got married in 1968. You need wooden floors, gold colour embossed wallpaper, lamp tables with cracked glass bases and pleated shades, silk or velvet cutains but not beige.

I'd have steam cleaned it anyway when I bought it. My concern would be the fire regulations if it hasn't been re upholstered to current standards.

I love it but I agree that you need to either reupholster or redecorate. The room needs wooden floors and a bold colour on the walls, plus dark wood statement furniture

It's not for me, sorry, but I can totally imagine how in the right room and setting it could look amazing.

Horrendous

Just paint the walls a deep peacock green, rip up the carpet, stain the floorboards, get a huge plant and take everything else out of the room. That's all it needs.

You need velvet swag curtains and an aspidistra, pronto. Also plenty of doilies.

Love it, but hate the room. Get rid of that dated pine cabinet and those awful molded internal doors. We had those doors and swapped them for proper wooden ones, much more stylish.

Oooh! Check down the sides-my parents bought a very old house (many, many years ago) which came with the furniture. They found a bag of gold sovereigns hidden away in one of the ancient sofas. They tried to give them to the previous owners but they wouldn’t take them!

Toddlers and mashed banana joy. When mine were little I had black leather sofas! Wipe clean and didn't show the stains.

I hate it, but if you love it that's all that matters.

You might hate our chocolate brown real leather sofa, but I love it so.
