Waitrose heavy duty oven cleaner (in the orange bottle) and elbow grease. Cleans anything.

I think that's the other kind of self-cleaning, the finish that usually speckled, mentioned earlier. From what I remember it's meant to make cleaning the surface easier - the stuff on it doesn't stick so grimly - catalytic cleaning?

Another poster mentioned her oven isn't supposed to have steam used on it; my Miele is the same.

I found out the hard way with the previous oven, that when steaming anything where the steam can reach your face, to wear one of those cheapo DIY masks otherwise if you're too generous with the steam, you can scald your lips very easily, they're quite vulnerable. Mine didn't blister, they dried out and were really uncomfortable with flaky, peeling skin for about a week.

Mine was worse than that and was gleaming in just over an hour and 30 quid to a Facebook ad for an oven cleaner.
