What is the worse First date you have ever been on?

I am newly single and in the future I will want to date again, but I feel like I am out of touch with the whole dating scene. There are several unspoken rules that you try to follow when it comes to a first date - not eating garlic and who pays for the food etc

But does anyone have any stories of the worse first date they have ever been on?

Oh these are hilarious. Recently, met a guy said he was a writer. Got there early, got myself a drink, could see a shifty looking bloke hovering outside the bar. Messaged him to come in. Offered him a drink, he refused. Went to get a drink himself, said it was too busy to get served, even though I could see him at the bar refusing service. Wouldn't look me in the eye. The writing as unpublished sci fi with shall we say sexual overtones. Conversation strained. Eventually he said shall we go somewhere else for a drink? Then walked around the city for half an hour as he rejected every possible venue and I eventually gave up. I'm guessing he was broke...
