What is the worse First date you have ever been on?

Lorddenning1 · 30/08/2018 13:47

I am newly single and in the future I will want to date again, but I feel like I am out of touch with the whole dating scene. There are several unspoken rules that you try to follow when it comes to a first date - not eating garlic and who pays for the food etc

But does anyone have any stories of the worse first date they have ever been on?

@Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe

WTAF! Is he actually dead?

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 30/08/2018 22:44

I would very much doubt it lowtide! But there were obvious mental health issues at play so i dont really know! Totally weird situation ,,he must have lied from the start ..i,e i had no idea of a disability or the fact he was so young or anything really...I ran for the hills blocked and deleted ...I just had no clue ..we live and learn!

My worst was 39 years ago approx. Cannot remember how we met or got together... probably mate of a mate or a nightclub crotch grind thing Picked me up in a filthy landrover and, after a few drinks, ran me home (to nurses home) proceeded to shove his hands down my jeans, when I clocked his black filthy fingernails. I ran like the wind.

Another charmer picked me up in his fiancé's car. I found that out thanks to his mates in the pub.

MeandMoo · 30/08/2018 22:59

@tubbylittletwat that image of Gravy Wrists makes me want to Vom!

My first ever online Date looked NOTHING like his Profile Pic, like actually a different person - but I was all dressed up and ready for a Night out so thought F-it one drink won't hurt, he seemed quite Fun anyway! During the drink I ended up getting really creeped out by him so went to 'toilet' but actually disappeared through the Fire Exit of the Bar, forgetting my Jacket!

About an Hour later at the Waterloo with my Burger King waiting for the Train home my weird date walked passed Me, wearing my Jacket.

Needless to say I didn't ask for it back and just let him walk on by...

The man who hardly said anything all evening, made no eye contact when I looked at him, but whenever I looked away stared at me intently. I left when I looked up to find him surreptitiously trying to take a photo of me on his phone. He was most unnerving.

Ohyesiam · 30/08/2018 23:20

I think the worst was a date my boss set me up on with a man who kept coming to our workplace to smile at me.
He was shy, and it was dull and awkward. Turned out he did have something to say though, as he blurted out “ I must tell you , I’ve been really wanting to do your arse”.

I didn’t reply, stood up and walked out.
The next day I alerted security and had him thrown out when he visited two days later.
The silver lining was the security guard, he was big and quiet but as it turned out really lovely, and became a fwb for about 6 months.

Poptart4 · 31/08/2018 00:14

Love these stories.

One of my worst dates was actually my own fault. I was 18 and had just broken up with my first proper boyfriend. My friend set me up on a blind date and i ended up getting blind drunk and spending the whole night taking about my ex. I cringe thinking about it 😱 At the end if the night the poor guy couldn't get away from me quick enough lol

Mummadeeze · 31/08/2018 00:35

A guy I had met in a bar took my number and asked me to dinner. When I arrived, it was a family dinner with his parents, brothers and sisters and grandparents. They were all really over friendly and treated us like we had just got engaged, saying they had a really good feeling I was the ‘one’ etc. Then one of his sisters got up and sang a jazz performance and she genuinely sounded like one of the really bad rejects from the X Factor but the whole family were saying to me ‘isn’t she amazing?’ It was like a surreal dream to be honest. He was really good looking but I couldn’t bring myself to date him again after that night!

GhostPerfume · 31/08/2018 00:36

The policeman who forced me into sex with very sneaky emotional control tactics. I didn't realise how scary he was until a few years ago and it all fell into place.

MsShopper · 31/08/2018 01:26

Went on a date with a guy I'd met on a night out with friends. He took me dancing, we had a few cocktails. All good. I grabbed a cab home at the end of the night and, uninvited, he jumped in and said, 'Oh you can drop me home on your way - I'm not far.' I didn't feel particularly comfortable about that, but I was too young and stupid polite to say anything.

So off we went, him directing the driver to his house (in the opposite direction to where I was headed Angry), and then he turned back to me - and with not a word - thrust his hand down my top and started manhandling my boobs. I pushed him off, 'What the hell??', and he said 'Oh I'm sorry... ARE MY HANDS COLD?' And then rubbed his hands together furiously Bond villain-style before going in for another squeeze!!

I'd love to say I kicked him out of the cab there and then, but I just pushed him off again and ignored his confusing mewling until the cab finally got to his road. He texted me for several weeks afterwards, all of which I ignored. Ugh.

MsShopper · 31/08/2018 01:28

GhostPerfume, how awful. Hope you're okay. Flowers

The man who talked about Hitler's tastes in pornography and coprophilia all night. When he asked for a second date and I declined he was very shocked as we "had so much in common". We really didn't.

fattyboomboomboom · 31/08/2018 01:58

Was shagging a rather gorgeous actor with a big cock on my living room carpet. When he sat up there was a cheerio stuck to his back. He was forever after known as the cereal killer.

ahnow · 31/08/2018 02:02

A guy who was in charge of the guest list for a VIP area of a club-I flirted to get into there and then when he asked me out thought I'd better say yes.
The day of the date he called and asked if I could pick him up- when I arrived he had a binbag full of clothes because his mum had just thrown him out of the house for being arrested again. Then we went out for dinner, he told me for him it had been love at first sight and then pulled out a 'present' for me.... a fake diamond solitaire ring!! By this stage I was so freaked out I had no idea if he was proposing to me or not! Confused

One of my first date disasters was when I was about 19. I was in our usual hangout with a friend who bumped into an old schoolfriend who asked me out. It was the 80’s and as usual I had a backcombed fringe and black clothes. We went to a pub in town and were chatting. People were coming over and saying hello to Derek then choosing to sit at a table nearby. Whilst chatting I overheard someone saying ‘he was a lovely bloke’ and it slowly dawned on me I was at a wake.

I never went on a second date lol.

A couple of years later I was on a works night out when I noticed Derek staring at me from the other side of the bar. A bit flustered I told one of the girls who told the Office joker who went over and chatted to Derek. He said he’d made reference to how good I was at BJ’s adding that he would know as he was my boss. Derek left soon afterwards lol.

Bumped into him a few years later whilst out with friends. Same stare from across the room. We left and he followed. We Hailed a taxi and haven’t seen him since.

AsleepAllDay · 31/08/2018 02:15

The one who ran out when I was in the loo! Hahaha

SteviaStephanie · 31/08/2018 02:25

How long have you got?! Here’s a starter:

He kept peering at me and seemed a little quiet. Eventually I asked if something was wrong.

Him: No. it’s just - you don’t really look like your picture.

Me: (my picture was flattering naturally but very recent and accurate): oh. Well, this is me Smile

Him: oh.

Me: (getting cross) do you have a problem with how I look?

Him: oh no no no not at all; you look lovely....

Pause

Him: ...... you were just wearing a much tighter top in your picture.

Reader, I didn’t even finish the first drink.

Worst first [and only] date was with a bloke who called himself 'an alpha in the workplace' and asked me to next time we meet [never happened] insert various veg up his bum! Quickly glugged my coffee and legged it, sniggering. I immediately blocked him and told everyone I knew about his request.

UnicornPug · 31/08/2018 07:13

I met a guy in the pub and he pestered me for a date. I agreed to go to the cinema with him the next day. We had great chemistry and really hit it off- spent the whole day texting. We met and had a good chat then went into the film. About 3/4 of the way through he said he had to nip to the loo and never returned. Hmm
I was worried that he’d had an accident so I sent a staff member in to check before it dawned on me he’d just gone! I have literally no idea what happened (I mean, the film was shit but it was his choice Grin) and he never replied to the texts I sent asking.

missmooster · 31/08/2018 07:17

About 10 years ago now a good work mate set me up with one of his friends. He told me his mate had had a really tough time, but he thought we would be well suited so I agreed to pop down the pub where they all were and kind of just accidentally bump into them.
We were getting on pretty well, but then within 30 minutes he had asked me to pay his car insurance for him as he really needed his car for work! I was so taken aback I didn’t really say anything, but left shortly afterwards. He texted me for hours afterwards demanding to know when I would put the money in his account! Swiftly blocked and work friends got an earful haha!

On holiday in Italy, on my own. Very good looking guy chatted me up and I thoght, Hell why not, and agreed to meet for dinner. He picked me up from my hotel, and said he had prepared dinner for me at his place somewhere out of town. I didn’t like the idea of that and insisted that we go and have dinner at a restaurant instead. He got very grumpy but drove us to a place near the harbour. I ordered food and a glass of wine, but he had lost all his appetite and didn’t order anything, because it would be so inferior to his own cooking anyway. The evening passed with him telling me about his model career with Giorgio Armani, his Lamborghini and his ability to read my mind. He knew that I was absolutely smitten and wouldn’t be able to resist a second date at his place. But because I had hurt his pride I’d need to ask him this time. He drove me back to the hotel in his little Fiat (the Lamborghini was in for repairs, obviously...) and sat there waiting for me to say the magic words.
I was speechless.

Years ago before DH was on the scene I'd been out on a first date with a guy i was really keen on. Wasn't feeling great beforehand but didn't want to cancel. In hindsight had a gastric bug brewing.

Excused myself after 20 mins. Went to the loo and was sick but felt better. Thought I'd just go back to the table and resume the evening only to be asked what was that in my hair and on my dress collar - puke!

Needless to say there wasn't a 2nd date
