How talk are you and what do it weigh?

Trying to work out my target weight.

I know the range according to BMI but I'm too fat to visualise what say 9 stone looks like.

I'm a size 20, I was happiest in myself as a size 14 but never weighed myself back then.

I'm 5 ft 4.5 so trying to guesstimate what weight I'd be as a comfortable 14

newtlover · 29/08/2018 08:14

I'm 5' 4"
weigh aprrox 9.7
I'm a 14/12- ususally 14 for the top, 12 for the bottom but it does depend which shop

Shitonthebloodything · 29/08/2018 08:14

I'm 4ft 10. At a size 14 I was roughly 11stone I think.
I'm currently around 13.5 st and a 16/18

According to the BMI scale, I would be in the healthy range at 6st 5lb which is just unimaginable for a healthy adult. The upper end of the BMI target range for me would be 8st 8lb and I think (if I can remember that far back!) That would make me a size 8 ish.
It's ludicrous really. My target is 9st which would be a comfortable 10/12 if memory serves and at that point I'll evaluate how I look and feel.

CallipygousElephant · 29/08/2018 08:22

I'm 5ft3 and probably about 11 - 11 1/2 stone, I'm a 14 on the top and a 12/14 on the bottom.

My boobs are so big that anything with buttons on top needs to be a 16.
I was happier at 10 stone and a size 10/12.

BonfiresOfInsanity · 29/08/2018 08:27

I’m 5ft 9 and weigh 11.5 st and size 14.

babswindsor · 29/08/2018 08:28

Always the same with these threads, I see people the same height as me, weighing more but slimmer than me! How does that even work???

And I am 5'5 and 10 stones size 14 sometimes 16.

OftenHangry · 29/08/2018 08:37

I am on that "get back to my size" train as well. I haven't set myself a weight goal, because everyone weights bit differently. Muscles are heavier than fat so if you exercise you will lose size, but not necessarily weight in the beginning, which can be quite disheartening and demotivating.
I set myself measurements. It's also easier to visualise. Do you still have some clothes in that size? I used 1 dress I used to really like as a "template".

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2018 08:37

I don't get it either babs although I suddenly feel very light! and incorrectly dressed Grin

Mugglemom · 29/08/2018 08:37

I'm size 14, 5 ft 8 in, and 11 stone.

Daysofpearlyspencer · 29/08/2018 08:38

5' 6" and between 9 to 9 and a half stone, struggling to maintain though

WavyTree · 29/08/2018 08:41

5ft 4, and 12st 7. Hourglass shape.

Juells · 29/08/2018 08:43

I'm 5ft 2 and a half, weigh 9st 6lbs.

Babybearsporij · 29/08/2018 08:43

I am a pear shape. When I was a 14 in trousers I weighed about 11 stone. 14 on top, about 12 stone.

Babybearsporij · 29/08/2018 08:44

Ps I'm 5'4" as well.

lubeybooby · 29/08/2018 08:48

I'm size 14 at 12 to 13 stone ish and I'm 5ft 5... but I am an even weight carrier with a very large frame. My friend is same height and a stone lighter and a size 16 as she carries it differently (tiny frame, thin arms and legs, all weight on torso)

steamboatwilly123 · 29/08/2018 08:49

I'm surprised at some of these responses. I'm 5' 2", weigh just over 12 stone and I am a 16 to 18. To be a 14 I'd have to get to around 10 and 1/2 stone. Interesting to see people shorter than me weighing more but a smaller dress size.

3TresTrois · 29/08/2018 08:50

I’m 5’11, right 12.5 stone and am a size 14.
I need to lose a stone to fit comfortably back in my size 12 clothes (ie. my entire wardrobe 😞). Must get off my arse!

It must vary massively according to shape, judging on this thread, though. I carry my extra weight on belly, breasts and hips. Legs and arms always stay skinny. It’s an annoying shape for clothes.

evilharpy · 29/08/2018 08:50

I'm 5' 6" and 13st exactly and a comfortable size 14 although some tops and coats/jackets are a 12. I'm pear shaped with quite a large frame and big wide feet, and carry all my weight on my bottom half.

At 11st I'm a size 10 in most shops, possibly a 12 in jeans in some places. At 10st a size 10 hangs off me.

Serialweightwatcher · 29/08/2018 08:51

I'm 5'4 and weigh 10-11 and am a size 14 - I want to lose at least 1.5 stone because I think I look big at this weight, but can't motivate myself at all at the moment. I'm a straight up and down shape though which I think makes me look fatter than I should but all in proportion - if I had a waist I wouldn't care if I was bigger because at least I'd look shapely

Odoreida · 29/08/2018 09:01

I'm 5' 3 (2 and a half possibly) and a size 12-14. 11 stone, 2 stone overweight, enormous boobs but very narrow hips which mean that most trousers and skirts are too big. I also think sizes have got bigger!

JaceLancs · 29/08/2018 09:01

I’m 5 foot 4 weigh 11 stone 6 and am a small size 12 (in M & S I can even get in some size 8 clothes!)
I’m trying to get down to under 10 stone which for me will be a size 8
I’m very hourglass with a short torso but have big arms and legs which is where it’s all distributed! I also have to buy long length trousers even though I’m quite short
OP you can do it! At my heaviest I was 18 Stone 2, it’s taken me over 2 years to lose nearly 7 stone and could easily take me 1-2 years to lose the rest but I’m still heading in the right direction albeit slowly and when I get to my happy weight I will be staying there!!

SleepingStandingUp · 29/08/2018 09:02

Re needing a weight : because SW goes by weight

Re weighing myself : trying to stick to the weekly weigh in and weight mid week

Re outfit in the size: god no, was early Uni since I was anything near a size 14, which was around the turn of the millennium...

Thwack you for all these replies, u expected a few nice replies, a few lectures on being obese and that's it lol. It is fascinating the variation between people.
I'm an hourglass and am hippy and booby even at a size 12 (when I was 16!) so could never imagine me slimming to a size 8 or 10

I'm 5ft 2ins. I'm 47 and have had 2 kids. In April I weighed 11st 4ins and was wearing a large size 12 dress. To be honest, I faced the choice of bagging up and giving to charity all of my sized 10 wardrobe as I'd gotten too fat for it and was down to a single dress that still fit me. It was a very depressing thought to get rid of my favourite clothes that I'd not fitted for years and buy size 12/14.
To cut a long story short, decided to ditch the weight NOT the clothes. I'm back to my old sized 10 again (a no carbs, low fat diet) .......the back fat has all gone, my face looks slimmer. I weigh 9st 11 and I'm stopping at 9st 9lb which will be at the top end of a healthy BMI for a woman of 5ft 2ins. No more bad knees, no more piles, no sore feet, loving my bikini!!!!

Waterlemon · 29/08/2018 09:15

Ive read similar threads to this and remember being surprised by the range in weights but I think height makes such a difference.

My weight has been up and down over the last 5+ years. And I’m currently at my biggest and wearing 14/16 clothes but actually I think I am a “small 16”. at my lowest I was a 12/14 or a small 14 (never really a secure 12) (secure meaning I can try on anything in that size and it will fit, small meaning that some items are a bit big but not enough to go down a size, ditto large)

I am 5ft 7 and although I’ve stayed “around” a 14, there is a difference of around 3 stone between my smallest and heaviest weights. My lowest is 11 stone, highest just under 14!

wink1970 · 29/08/2018 09:32

5'2" here and 9.6 stones. I am very booby but quite muscly everywhere else except a muffin top and I'm looking to get to 8.5 stones. Saw the doctor yesterday and she said I am peri-menopausal so am having a life/health think.

wink1970 · 29/08/2018 09:33

sorry, meant to add, I wear 14 clothes, often a 16 on top to cover cleavage.
