To be annoyed about this

The schools website has said that term is from 3 September onwards. I’ve just found out there’s a training day on 31st August, and I’ve no child care ... Aibu to just say I can’t go?

My old school ( I still do the odd bit of supply cover) has had the dates for this academic year up on their calendar for at least 6 months to a year: they have 2 INSED days for teachers on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th, then an Induction Day for the year groups at a new stage (Yrs 3, 7, 9 & 11) before full timetable kicks in on Monday September 3rd. The website has this information available for parents, let alone staff.
I'm sure it is not unusual to have these dates posted; maybe not quite as far ahead, but the start of this term would be covered.
