Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

Even her kids bedrooms are the same.

I thought she didn’t have kids?

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 19:03

Eh? Are you even looking at the right account? I'm pretty sure she doesn't have children, so not entirely sure what "kids bedrooms" you're looking at to get to that decor judgement! Confused

GulagMilkMonitor · 11/09/2018 19:05

Maybe it’s the dog’s bedroom? I believe the dog has a bedroom.

That is one adorable dog.

Pinkyponkcustard · 11/09/2018 19:24

Ugh. I just can’t get on with grown women getting all excited about detergents, cloths and cleaning!

I’ll be up for this when the fellas are up for it.

SmallButFierce · 11/09/2018 19:25

It's a shame the 'hinch army' are hypocritical when it comes to online bullying.

Well said 👏

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 19:30

Maybe, as the dog does indeed have his own bedroom and bed Grin
Not sure where the pp saw the other kids bedroom if so though, as that only accounts for one of them.....

Mumof3girlssoontobe4 · 11/09/2018 19:49

One thing that's bothering me, as wonderful as she seems and is helping people, she clearly loves animals as she has Henry the dog, yet ALL the cleaning products she uses are likely animal tested!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 11/09/2018 19:54

I’ll be up for this when the fellas are up for it.

That's a principle that could take you down some dark alleys in life. 😮

TheDogAteMyPants · 11/09/2018 20:24

Ah, maybe it was the dog’s room? Just presumed it was a child as it had a single bed in it. I didn’t look at every photo in detail - was just a bit over(and)underwhelmed by the greyness of it all.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 20:27

It's not just the photos, it's the stories too that make the account what it is.
If you followed and watched those, you'd get a better understanding than just going and looking at a few of the pictures.

Skyejuly · 11/09/2018 20:30

The stories are just sink, minky and narnia.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 20:36

The stories are just sink, minky and narnia.

A lot of them are, but not all. If it's "just" that to you, nobody's asking you to "get" it. Just to understand the philosophy each to their own as well as it's not nice to bitch about other people. (Last bit a general to all, not you in particular even though "just" is a bit meow. Others like.

MsAnnThropic · 11/09/2018 20:39

I've unfollowed her. I find her stories dull. I much prefer the organised Mum.

nikkip75 · 11/09/2018 20:42

I watched some stories, it not my type of thing but it’s like falling down a rabbit hole! I sat and watched this lady sort through cleaning wipes one night arranging them into “their little beds” and I had to drag myself away! I can see how some people get drawn in. It reminded me of my kids watching other kids opening kinder eggs on YouTube 😂

Nothing against the woman in question. Some of her army seem a bit mental though 🤷‍♀️

TomHardyswife · 11/09/2018 20:54

I find myself watching her with fascination.. A little sneak peak into her world of being so happy and upbeat doing such mundane tasks.. It's kind of infectious.

Me too, and it definitely is infectious Smile

Pinkyponkcustard · 12/09/2018 07:05

I hear you on the infectiousness but doesn’t it make you uneasy? Like we’re being turned into 1950s housewives?

What would the suffragettes say?

oldgimmer78 · 12/09/2018 07:14

I don't get it, I've been following her to see what the hype is all about but she seems to clean and reclean things that are already clean. Is this what is helping so many people with MH issues as people keep saying? Her sink and surrounding area is gleaming and she keeps doing it again. Her house is new so it's not as if she is giving tips to remove limescale from taps or mouldy sealants. Am I missing something?

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 12/09/2018 07:35

@Pinkyponkcustard I think some people think a return to the 50s would be a welcome thing as apparently women didn't discuss other women and they had more manners Hmm

Poppet86 · 12/09/2018 07:41

As you are all wondering why/how mrshinch is so popular I thought I would share my experience....

I moved house at 6 months pregnant, we did some decorating but the closer it got to my due date the less we did. I had boxes in corners of rooms and crappy council tiles from where we had ripped up carpets and not put the new flooring down yet. I was tired and when I got in from work I didn’t want to clean and even when I did it still didn’t look clean. I spent the first 3 weeks of having my baby in my pjs doing the bare minimum cleaning. Then I found mrshinch, she gave me that motivation I needed to get up get dressed and sort the house out. You would be surprised how just making your sink shine makes you keep the rest of the kitchen so much cleaner. I’ve sorted all the boxes out, nagged my partner to lay the floor and fitted in some decorating myself. I feel amazing for it! It’s hard to adjust to being a stay at home mum but Mrshinch has definitely made it more fun. My partner thinks I’m crackers putting some named clothes to bed at night but he has seen such a difference in me. Her home may not be to everyone’s liking, I think it’s beautiful but wouldn’t have that much grey myself. It doesn’t mean she isn’t doing amazing things and helping people just like me. I fully believe her followers are genuine and mrshinch is as shocked as anyone about her success.

I’m glad some of you don’t need motivation to clean but some of us get in a rut and need that push. I actually enjoy doing it now!

oldgimmer78 · 12/09/2018 07:49

Poppet that's interesting, thanks. I certainly could do with more motivation but I really think if I had a new house then I would be. Alas, I am in a 70's rental with original carpets, mouldy grout and a kitchen sink that refuses to shine. I don't see how putting cloths to bed is going to make my house look any better. It's great if it helps other people. I do fear though that the very repetitive nature of her cleaning things that are already clean along with the encouragement of stockpiling stuff could be detrimental for some people with MH issues.

BathroomLights · 12/09/2018 08:08

214k followers at 11am yesterday, now, 21 hours later, 237k. Does that seem right? Is she buying followers?

Poppet86 · 12/09/2018 08:09

@oldgimmer78 we don’t all clean what is already clean and stockpile cleaning products 😂 I don’t feel the need to scrub the bathroom everyday or anything. But just doing the washing up, putting it away and wiping down the kitchen every night is more then I was doing before. It feels so much better coming down to a clean kitchen in the morning. My sink had seen better days but mrshinch has introduced me to products I hadn’t heard of and they have bought it up lovely. I am also part of the mrshinch fan page on Facebook, and a lot of us need help getting something that’s been neglected back to where it should be and share tips on there.

To be fair on mrshinch she doesn’t always have a spotless sink that she cleans for the sake of it. There has been plenty of occasions it has stuff drying on the rack or stuff to be washed inside it.

She even did a story the other day about finding hot chocolate behind her bed that she had forgotten she had spilt and showed us how to clean it.

Skyejuly · 12/09/2018 08:14

Thats just it, its not really cleaning tips as its all new stuff.

rainbowsandsmiles · 12/09/2018 08:24

I hear you on the infectiousness but doesn’t it make you uneasy? Like we’re being turned into 1950s housewives?

The house isn't complaining, it's about time I started enjoying cleaning it instead of ignoring it Blush Grin

I definitely don't start cleaning things that are already clean, I've got enough things that need actually cleaning to start on that lol.
It's hard to explain re: how it helps mental health - with me it seems to be helping as it gets me motivated, and in turn makes my anxiety feel a bit less as I feel a bit more "awake" and on top of things.
