Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

Just seen this post after posting mine - this!
But just doing the washing up, putting it away and wiping down the kitchen every night is more then I was doing before. It feels so much better coming down to a clean kitchen in the morning.

Less of a mental load, kind of. One less thing to have on my mind to do.

WipsGlitter · 12/09/2018 08:26

I don't get cleaning an already gleaming bath.

Re followers thought I suggested she was buying followers I'm now not sure. You can usually spot when someone has done that (lots of followers from outside the uk) but hers seem to be UK based. And her engagement is creeping up in line with her followers (with bought ones it flatlines).

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 12/09/2018 08:29

I don’t think she’s buying followers either. I think it’s a really interesting example of how things can go viral on social media.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 12/09/2018 08:34

The only thing that makes me go Hmm a bit is how this has all blown up in the last few weeks and she has no help apparently, yet she’s got some branded merch on the way way and has copyrighted her catchphrases. Someone must have helped with that surely?

rainbowsandsmiles · 12/09/2018 08:40

Saw that, don't blame her really - I think I'd want to make the most out of that online presence too!
Another one who thinks it's not a case of buying followers - she's got a huge following with great engagement of people commenting/liking/ etc everywhere.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 12/09/2018 08:53

I don’t blame her either. It’s a massive opportunity.

BathroomLights · 12/09/2018 09:02

She's had her Instagram exactly 6 months. I looked at the little miss mops one that someone mentioned further up, that one seems so much better in terms of actual cleaning, plenty of before and afters etc. Maybe people get something else out of Mrs Hinch? Not cleaning, but something else?

WipsGlitter · 12/09/2018 09:44

I think there's a demographic she appeals to sort of upper working class who are very houseproud.

rainbowsandsmiles · 12/09/2018 09:48

DEFINITELY not upper working class (or in fact very houseproud!) here and she appeals to me! Grin
Think it's more she comes across as young, likeable and fun.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 12/09/2018 10:13

It’s quite TOWIE isn’t it? I mean that in a complimentary way, I love TOWIE. Hugely popular, fun, bit glam, quite aspirational.

Poppet86 · 12/09/2018 10:38

I definitely think it’s down to her personality though and not just the cleaning tips. She cracks me up!

Plus the fact her dog has his own room and sleeps in the bed like he’s human is amazing!!

There is so much more to it then just cleaning!

Poppet86 · 12/09/2018 10:39

Ditto 😂 Getting there with the houseproud part though 🤞

lfifi · 12/09/2018 10:46

Wow, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. Sorry, this lady clearly enjoys cleaning, it is a hobby and likes to share. So what if you don't agree with her tipsor you don't like how much she cleans, thats her business. If you don't like it dont view it/follow it simple as. Shes her and you are you. She shouldn't make you any worse a woman and none of you should try to take her down. - As i say, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.- Lucy F.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 12/09/2018 10:53

Oh fgs stop jumping on the be nice or shut up bandwagon. The vast majority of comments are complimentary on here.

Spot on!!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 12/09/2018 11:00

It almost creates a hypnotic effect. You see her arm cleaning things. Then you see your own arm cleaning things. I'm sure there's some psychological reason why it's addictive and infectious.

I'm not knocking it - I love her. I just bought 1001 carpet freshener. I'd never know that stuff existed! My house smells AMAZING.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 12/09/2018 11:02

Some of the fans on the FB fan page sound like total nut jobs, though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Notso · 12/09/2018 11:11

I can see why she's popular, the tattoos, nails, lashes, lips, tan hair etc are all 'in'. The haul thing also seems to be what lots of people love to do, it baffles me a bit but I see this trend for overbuying and stashing on lots of groups covering everything from baby clothes to make up.
I don't see what she does that is especially inspirational though, it's not really practical help like TOMM etc do with routines, recipes, tips. It's just MrsHinch cleaning stuff and talking about bog standard productsConfused

Winterbella · 12/09/2018 11:17

not into it at all, its all very cult like, I'm sure people will get board of it soon.

BathroomLights · 12/09/2018 12:13

I'll be honest, I'm totally, completely, utterly mystified as to what the attraction is.

ConfusedConfusedConfusedGrin

rainbowsandsmiles · 12/09/2018 12:41

I just caught myself saying "yes maaate" to myself when something went right when cleaning Grin
It's catching! Grin Blush

WhatsGoingOnEh · 12/09/2018 12:55

All the best, @rainbowsandsmiles 🤣

I cleaned my hob, oven, sink, downstairs loo, bought 2 baskets and installed pine loo-fresheners in both loos. 🙈

I've also got a wax melt on the go.

I'm 100% taken over.

MaryBerrysChutney · 12/09/2018 13:31

Bloody hell, the amount of chemicals and products!!! And zoflora!!

HeavenlyEyes · 12/09/2018 13:55

I think she is great - I can't put my finger on why, but I adore her. She seems quite genuinely kind and a bit overwhelmed with all the followers. Good for her.

And I am living in a much cleaner house thanks to her.

The comments from folk who have struggled and she has inspired them - well that alone means she is worthwhile.

I do agree that she uses an awful lot of chemicals mind. Each to their own. All the best etc...

I do think there will be a shelf life. Years ago there was a similar sort of craze on FB for covering every single item in your house with Fablon. People were rushing out to bulk buy it and it was going out of stock, cue much hand wringing and fretting. I don't even know if fablon is still a thing now. Anyhoo, let Mrs Hinch enjoy it while she can.
