Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

I do know her. I don’t feel the need to tell you how because it’s not anyone’s business. I am not her however before that’s the next thing that is assumed. But I do know her. And I do know that she hasn’t hired anybody.

You saying you’re baffled by people wishing to defend someone they don’t know personally. Well I’m baffled by you being so fascinated by someone you don’t know personally enough so that you feel the need to keep going on about her for how long has this thread been going on for now? Why can’t you let it rest?

Skyejuly · 11/09/2018 11:09

Fan girls are way too emotionally invested in this.

I saw someone putting Zoflora in a air purifier and tagged her. What the!?

The whole hauls thing is ridiculous. Such a waste.

Shitonthebloodything · 11/09/2018 11:10

I've been following for a few weeks and I think she comes across as a perfectly lovely, funny woman doing exactly what she enjoys and loving every minute of the attention surrounding it. Bloody good on her!
Nothing riles up The Vipers Nest more than a woman doing well for herself and being happy about it. Hope she makes a few typos too so some of you can really get your knickers in a twist! Hmm

She does come across as lovely. Fun and down to earth.
Been on MN practically forever (seems like it lol) and the running down of women doing well or enjoying themselves does seem to be a theme sometimes, I'll never get it.
Just be happy for others. If it's not your thing and she doesn't cheer you up or inspire you, find something that does.

BathroomLights · 11/09/2018 11:20

@HavingALittleBabyToolshed

She just hit 200,000 Followers

Now 214k. So 14 thousand new followers in 15 hours??????

MommytoA · 11/09/2018 11:23

I personally really like her. Who cares if she's always cleaning? Some people enjoy cleaning and she's helping people like myself who suffer from anxiety. No harm done.

Shitonthebloodything · 11/09/2018 11:26

Honestly I think anyone who says they wouldn't use an opportunity like she has to make some money is full of shit. She'd be daft not to try and sell some merch or get some sponsorship really, I would!

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 11:28

She seems to be helping my anxiety too. Probably why I'm a newly converted fan!

She's getting massive interest everywhere, from forums to social media platforms to here. I'm not surprised! Good on her.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 11:29

Shitonthebloodything - I certainly would too! A lot of people would want to make the most of that kind of exposure and opportunity.

TomHardyswife · 11/09/2018 11:34

I downloaded Instagram and followed her to see what the fuss is about.

I think she's very likeable. She doesn't seem to take herself too seriously and she makes fun of herself for her crazy cleaning habits like cleaning the lounge late at night etc. She has got a lovely sense of humour and it does feel like she's making her routines fun with the fact she calls her cloths and household items names like Stewart and Vera.

The only thing I can't understand is the fact that her followers are whipped up into a frenzy of bulk buying hundreds of products.. All neatly lined up in their cupboards, all colour coded and then photographed onto Instagram. They are out doing each other in the size of their "haul" buying special shelving to put in their garages and sheds to line up their fifty bottles of flash bathroom, every minky pad and spontex cloth imaginable, and hundreds of boxes of zoflora. One commented that she was now bankrupt but at least she has a clean house! I wondered if it was all actually to do with cleaning at all but more about extreme hoarding!!

Then there are photos where the fans have rushed out and bought every single decorative item completely copied from her home and photoed onto Instagram. Everyone seems to be trying to out do each other.

Next thing there will be a huge demand for new build homes in Essex and also golden cocker spaniels!

Thesearmsofmine · 11/09/2018 11:38

I have to admit I did buy some Harpic Pine after seeing here use it because I wanted to know what it smelt like. It’s lush!

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 11:40

She does come across as very likeable, and self deprecating which is probs why she's so relatable.

The only thing I can't understand is the fact that her followers are whipped up into a frenzy of bulk buying hundreds of products
This bit! I must admit I struggle to understand this aspect as much.
You see people showing off their Narnia and they've got like 10 bottles of say Zoflora in there.
Me - "Whyyyyy do you need that many?!" lol Grin

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 11/09/2018 11:53

I think she seems lovely too. I never said I didn’t. It’s the people so easily influenced I find utterly bizarre.

Crazyladee · 11/09/2018 12:03

I went out and bought some of that Cif stainless steel cleaner as recommended by her.

I bought ONE bottle.. I can't understand why anyone would rush out and buy 10 bottles of each item she uses!

Smellylittleoranges · 11/09/2018 12:26

Mrs Hinch's house is exactly like mine - except sparklier and greyer - it is so funny to see on insta we both have a newbuild and obsession with Hemnes i have lots more colour in my house though. She's not harming anyone live and let live.

firehousedog1 · 11/09/2018 12:34

Surely the whole haul thing will fade away for the large majority when it hits home to your average folk how much money they are spending on cleaning products. Whether her cleaning the same things over and over again will keep people interested long term also is debatable. She has obviously hit something though and if I were her i'd get an agent to see what they could possibly do to make the most of this moment in the spotlight.

TheBigFatMermaid · 11/09/2018 12:35

I have to say, my DD has been suffering from depression since having had her second baby. I am disabled and help where I can, but that help is limited. Her DH is fabulous, BUT since she started following this woman, her home is amazing. She has discovered an enthusiasm for cleaning she certainly did not get from me. Her mood is brighter, she has more energy and, this has had a roll on effect on me and my home.

penisbeakers · 11/09/2018 12:40

Oh for goodness sake! We often talk about not being shit to one another, and instead being kind and recognising fellow women's accomplishments and kindness, and then threads like this happen.

People can spend and buy what they want. It's none of your business.
People can use whatever products they want - also none of your business.
Yes some people who follow MrsHinch May or may not struggle with OCD, but guess what? Taking the piss doesn't help and it's also none of your business. She has helped so many, she's a genuine lovely lady, she's not paid to do anything or at least she wasn't the last i heard, and she's doing something that makes her happy, AND it's making other people happy.

Her house decor makes her happy, if you don't like it? Fine. You don't have to live there do you?

All of this is so mean spirited. Lift one another up instead of being miserable and bitter and trampling all over someone who is a genuine and lovely person. There are also people causing drama for Gemma who is the lady behind the organised Mum method - there's simply no need for taking sides or saying one is better than the other - both she and Soph are human and doing things that make them happy.

Be kind people. It's free and the kindness you'll get back is worth it.

himalayansalt · 11/09/2018 14:02

I don't agree that it's no one else's business about the over-use of chemicals and anti bacterials or any other enviornmental concerns they may have. I feelt it is VERY much my business and my children's business too of course. We've got to stop polluting the world around us.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 14:18

Nobody said there was anything wrong with saying about chemicals. People do use them though, each to their own.
The nasty comments there's just no need for though.

oldgimmer78 · 11/09/2018 14:27

Of course she (and the #hincharmy) can buy whatever products in as many multipacks as they want. People are also allowed to comment/have an opinion on that.

penisbeakers · 11/09/2018 14:30

Concern trolling for environmental issues - yeah okay. 🙄

Skyejuly · 11/09/2018 14:56

This whole thing about using refillable bottles and they are all out buying hundreds of plastic bottles for 1 use. Literal madness.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 11/09/2018 14:59

It's not concern trolling it is people expressing their opinion about their personal values, which may not fit with yours, believe it or not.

That comment earlier about if you can't being nice be silent was ridiculous. This isn't the 1950s. Women are allowed to express opinions, yes even mums!

sugarnotsweetener · 11/09/2018 15:05

I didn’t follow but just looked at herstory and She’s gained 40k followers in 24hrs, well done OP 😂
