Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

She seems a bit TOO obsessed re. cleaning... surely it isn't healthy? Don't know how her husband has put up with it. Everyone's now going 'hinch' crazy and buying massive hauls of cleaning products... don't they have any cleaning stuff in the house??? Won't that do? And don't they clean anyway already, there's no need to be going over surfaces and bathrooms every single day, sometimes multiple times a day like she does? Who even has the time for that!

Mrsramsayscat · 10/09/2018 22:13

Does anyone know what the very pale beige/Greige colour is on her walls?

rainbowsandsmiles · 10/09/2018 22:13

Wips - why on earth does it matter if she does or doesn't have an "actual" job?
How rude on many levels - nowt to do with her Instagram, and nowt to do with us, basically! "Actual" job. Wow. That just makes you sound snotty, sorry.
As for buying followers - highly doubt it, the amount of exposure she's getting is amazing.
She's raved about on loads of parenting pages and forums, all over FB and Twitter etc, loads of followers coming in.

Fabric is already flammable unless treated with a fire retardant coating. The zoflora Mrs Hinch uses on her upholstery is very diluted so probably wouldn’t accelerate a fire imo

3and44 · 11/09/2018 01:02

I’ve just joined mumsnet solely so I could read this thread in its’ entirety and comment. I have rarely seen such mean-spirited, mealy-mouthed and sometimes downright nasty posts as I have here today on this single thread.
Mrs Hinch has a grey house ✔️ Mrs Hinch buys stuff from B & M and Ikea ✔️ Mrs Hinch loves cleaning ✔️ Mrs Hinch uses lots of products, not many if any appear to be enviro products ✔️ Mrs Hinch mixes products together ✔️ Mrs Hinch sprays diluted zoflora on fabric (which is already flammable) ✔️
Yes she does all these things. Yes you may not like her colour scheme, or her flowers on her cooker hob or that she mixes products but do you really have to tear the poor woman apart?
She isn’t telling you to have a grey house or wash your sink 4 times or put harpic down your loo. She’s saying what she does. If people choose to copy her then that’s up to them. Their choice.
Have none of you ever popped a bit of bleach in your mop bucket with a squirt of fairy for good measure? No, then my goodness cleanliness really is next to Godliness!
Why can’t people either just be pleased for others or move on past? Why can’t people just act with kindness and grace or move on past?
Why can’t people think before they write?
When humans are tearing down other humans what’s the point of you moaning about someone using lots of plastic? If examples of kindness between humans are not given and acted out all the plastic in the world won’t matter because ultimately the planet will be destroyed with words which lead to fights which lead to wars. You may think I am jumping from “just a small comment on mumsnet” to WW3 but an eye for an eye and the world is blind.
Be kind. If you can’t be kind be silent.

penisbeakers · 11/09/2018 03:12

@3and44 well said. 🌺♥️

nicebitofquiche · 11/09/2018 07:10

Wipsglitter yes Mrs Hinch has an actual job, she's a hairdresser. I don't think she's buying followers at all. The fan page on fb has over 10k members, it's just word of mouth, and social media. I first heard of her on here, had a look at Instagram and I'm hooked. She said last night there's a reason why she started cleaning her house so much which she'll tell us about one day. I love her. All the best mate Smile

Skyejuly · 11/09/2018 08:13

Must be a level of OCD in there or germphobia.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 08:42

Same Smile
She's got a strong, proper engaged following, it's easy to see.
The FB group is huge and very active too.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 11/09/2018 09:05

She’s not hanging around that’s for sure.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 09:21

So? Good on her. If she can make something out of it, I don't blame her!
I probably would too.

So you agree all these things are true then? I don't get it.

Surely the people setting up mumsnet accounts to have a pop at people calling them bad mothers and saying they have dirty houses are just as bad? Or were you referring to those posts?

3and44 · 11/09/2018 09:38

Yes I agree those things are true that was my point. All are true and so what? Why be mean spirited about someone just because their house is grey etc. If you don’t like it scroll past.

From what I have seen of mumsnet so far it seems to be a community of people pulling others down and not being kind. Everyday my daughter and I talk about kindness and what we did that day that was kind.
I just don’t understand why people have to be hateful.

Pompom42 · 11/09/2018 09:48

I'd love to have a super clean house but feel my house is too messy for it to be properly clean and I have a toddler and a dog. I do what I can with Zoflora etc but don't have a minky or spray bottle with fabric softener in. Oh and my house isn't completely grey

Raglansleeve · 11/09/2018 10:05

Think this thread has disappeared up its’ own fundament. I’d never heard of Mrs Hinch so had a look on the basis of the thread. The sheer ridiculousness of the amount of cleaning products she uses is staggering. She is persuading other people to use similar - in fact there appears to be a phenomenon called a ‘Hinch Haul’ whereby people (mostly women) go to the shops and come back with bagfuls of completely unnecessary cleaning products. We are fucking up our world fast enough as it is without pouring more chemicals down the bog.

As Mrs H has now employed a company to assist her with her internet presence she is obviously in it for the ££. The number of posts on here from people defending her activities, who appear to have joined Mumsnet particularly for that purpose would suggest they are being pointed in this direction by the PR company or Mrs H herself.

Mrs H is obviously monetising her blog, but the lack of openness regarding affiliate links will come back and bite her.

She may be a lovely person but by putting herself ‘out there’ she will receive criticism as well as adulation and her downright dangerous advice regarding mixing cleaning products, and obvious complete disregard for the environment should earn her censure.

Mrsramsayscat · 11/09/2018 10:24

I don't have an axe to grind about Mrs H as I don't know very much about this woman or her blog. But I did want to say that very many cleaning products are bad for health. They pollute the air in your homes. Cleaners, for example , often have more respiratory disease in later life.

Please look at asthma uk or similar for the background evidence.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 10:29

That's a conspiracy theory and a half. Mrs H is a person, it'll be pretty shitty reading horrible stuff about yourself so doubt it's her sending them, don't be daft.
Much more likely to do that there are threads in large groups/forums about this thread and so they've come over to have a look for themselves!

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 10:32

Those saying stuff like very many cleaning products are bad for health - surely that's common sense? Sometimes you do what's right for you and employ personal choice.
For example, I never use air fresheners and prefer the good old fashioned opening windows for fresh air approach, and I don't like those plug in fragrances things as I think they smell artificial and cloying.
Each to their own though. Surely anyone with asthma knows (or should know!) that anything like too many fresheners or cleaners could make it worse.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 11/09/2018 10:39

I don’t understand how people can get so emotionally invested in someone they don’t know and who is flogging stuff to them.

assumptionsmakeanarseofuandme · 11/09/2018 10:41

Some of the theories on this thread are a complete joke. Laughable in fact. Yes. I am one of those sad souls that has dragged myself to the dark dingy corner of the internet to join the infamously hideous mumsnet just to set a few things straight.

Mrs H has not in fact employed anybody to steer her media presence so no, she is absolutely not in it just for the money. She is a one woman band who is trying to plough through the thousands and thousands of messages she gets daily on her own. So if she wants to get the tiniest percentage back from using some Amazon affiliates then ffs, let it be. It won’t be anything like what all these companies are making off of her!

Also, people have not been steered here from her PR company which doesn’t even exist. If you must know, there is a group on facebook which was set up by one of her followers in support of her, and someone posted this hideous thread in there and people were appalled as to how she was being spoken of.

These wild unevidenced theories just make you look dumb.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 10:49

I can agree with that, as the conspiracy theories on MN always make me laugh.
Whether it be on an IG thread like this, (which usually go something like OMG, you must be Mrs Hinch" or thinking the "wrong way" as a woman then you're automatically a man - you've got to laugh and roll your eyes really lol Grin
Does Mrs Hinch even have a PR company? Don't think she has. She's not even on Twitter or have an official Facebook page yet as far as I know.

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 10:51

You don't have to get it. If it's not your thing, scroll by. She's clearly helping a lot of people feel better about themselves and that's a good thing in my book.

Pamdoo · 11/09/2018 10:58

I don’t understand how people can get so emotionally invested in someone they don’t know and who is flogging stuff to them

Me neither. That's what is so baffling. I think once she is too busy to reply to all their messages, the cleaning videos get less and less, and the ads become more frequent the fangirls will disappear.

This thread has died a death, due to people setting up a private facebook group, and ganging up coming on here bullying other people into not being able to have an opinion. Ironic really.

These wild unevidenced theories just make you look dumb

Well unless you know her personally, and know the facts, how can you say it's rubbish?!

Pamdoo · 11/09/2018 11:00

Does Mrs Hinch even have a PR company? Don't think she has

Several of her fans on this thread have said she has, which shows none of you know the truth either!

rainbowsandsmiles · 11/09/2018 11:05

Several of her fans on this thread have said she has, which shows none of you know the truth either!

"None of you?" I only found her via this thread so I'm new to her, thanks.
Yes, I don't know, which is why I was asking!
The FB group looks like it's been around a lot longer than this thread,so bit of a bizarre comment to say this thread has died a death to people setting up a private FB group. Confused Looks it was already there and well established.
