Things are usually said in a way that allow them to come true. People tend to forget the bit where they said they'd have a baby girl (it's a boy) and concentrate on the baby part being right. H T H.

Weirdly I have visited two psychics, both of whom had never met, one in london one in Brighton, about 2 years apart, about 2010 and 2012.

They both said I was likely moving to America.

It's weird because my mum was American (passed away yr 2008) which I didn't tell either of them.
Anyway I've never moved to America. I don't plan to either.

One psychic told me I'd be incredibly successful in my carreer path. I haven't been!

i had my palm read once and was told that I would meet someone with connections to two specific major cities and I’d be in a car crash involving a red car. Both those things have happened. She also told me I’d have two children a boy and a girl, I have two girls so almost right on that.

Years ago I saw a psychic, going through a messy breakup with my (now) DH - and I recently found a message I sent him about it, in which it said that she told me we would emigrate and live in Dubai. Which we did. At the time we were living in the North West with no plans of moving anywhere ever, let alone being together!

Dash38 · 18/08/2018 20:57

I was told I would have twins when my son was 3. He was 18mths at the time.
I had twins exactly a week after his 3rd birthday.

Bella898 · 18/08/2018 21:08

Yes! Years ago in my 20s (and I'm an absolute cynic so I was just going as a favour).. she was training to work as a psychic so needed someone to practice on. She told me:

  1. That my boyfriend of 6 years was not the one for me, and I shouldn't trust him as he would break my heart.
  2. That I was definitely going to go travelling.
  3. That I'd come top of my class in my exams

I came out really pissed off thinking she was crap because:

  1. I thought my bf was the love of my life and the most loyal trustworthy person ever. We were young but convinced it was 'forever'
  2. That we'd never travel as he had a huge issue with going abroad and had never left the country, and I'd never go without him
  3. That I'd never come top of my class as it was seriously tough

Fast forward a few months and I suddenly remember what the psychic said...as I'm backpacking my way around Australia, having had the shock of my boyfriend arriving at my door to tell me he'd met someone else, and had been cheating on me for months, oh and i got first place in my uni course!

theOtherPamAyres · 18/08/2018 21:10

The psychic really struggled with me.
Psyc: does a man in a brown suit mean anything to you?
Me: No
Psyc: He's like grandfather or elderly man that watches over you?
Me: Still no
Psyc: I see children that are close to you, wearing uniforms later in their lives.
Me: Nurse? Police Officer? Security? McDonalds?

Psyc: I can't be specific, I'm afraid

And so it went on.......

Chuggachuggatoottoot · 18/08/2018 21:11

It's interesting isn't it? I was told my grandad was going to be in hospital. He never really went in hospital so I was surprised. 2 weeks later he did.

I only went to see one on Wednesday. She reads for Sophie Gradons Mum as well as lots of famous North-Eastern people.

Anyway it's too soon to know, but the first thing she said was that I had ties to London- DP lives there and there is no way she could know that, and that I would end up moving there. She knew both my dead Grandads names as well as their favourite songs and the illnesses they both had. Apparently I'm going to get some good luck soon and that I need more confidence in my sporting ability. Let's see if it comes true!

BitchQueen90 · 18/08/2018 21:18

My DM says she has. I don't believe in that crap though.

zigzagbetty · 18/08/2018 21:24

I went to see one in the middle of ttc. He said he could see me with a baby but i wasnt going to be pregnant. I was very put out at his bluntness on the night and shortly afterwards my sister announced she was pregnant, so thought that was what he saw. Fast forward a year or two and we were matched to our baby girl who we adopted.

Indie139 · 18/08/2018 21:24

My mum went to one before i was born. Psychic told her that there was a little girl that follows her around holding a bunch of flowers and that she would have a daughter..After my brother she was told she couldnt have any more children so brushed this off. Not long after she fell pregnant with me. Psychic also said she would bump into an old male friend soon and he wears a pilot uniform..few months later she went to America and bumped into old friend that is a pilot.

I really want to see one myself..i believe there are a few good ones out there, pity though because seems alot of them are rubbish

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 18/08/2018 21:26

My aunt is a psychic. I say that with a certain amount of scepticism, but she’s well regarded within that world and one of the celebrities of the psychic circuit. Anyway, when I was 16 she told me that I would meet an older man who would break my heart and I did and he did.... but I would say that’s probably true for about three quarters of 16 yr old girls, so I remain unconvinced.

Admittedly I’m a bit of a cynic but I joined a friend for a psychic evening.
The thing is my reading was so vague, of course it came true! She said stuff like ‘you’ll have a financial worry’ and ‘you’ll strengthen your friendship with an acquantice’ etc - most people have money worries or might bump into an old friend!

TaMamaiSaChistinAgusSanOifig · 18/08/2018 21:29

The 'psychic' i saw was a charlatan. Im irish and he said "i see a mary. I see a seamus". "I see green fields". Every outdated cliché about the Irish, he wheeled it out. He gave me my money back though!! Because I was apparently so closed down. I said i was open!! I wanted to believe!
He told my poor upset colleague her dad knew she wasnt there when he died. [whyyyyyy]

Emma765 · 18/08/2018 21:29

I had one saying a man had come through for me, I couldn't understand who it was. I was getting a bit frustrated and she interrupted me and said "Who's Susan?". Susan is my Mum. She said he'd come for Susan.

She also said a fair bit that was true around purchasing a property and generally a lot of stuff that was uncertain all turning out OK.

MelanieLampshade · 18/08/2018 21:30

I once had a weird experience when I was about 7 in Battersea park and told my mum I would find a bunch of keys, went for a wee in a bush and came out with a big bunch of keys.

Went to see a psychic in my 20s and he said "remember Battersea"

Celebelly · 18/08/2018 21:31

Have a read about cold reading (and also about hot reading). Then think about how much information there is about you online.

BertrandRussell · 18/08/2018 21:32

Yes of course they have. Most of the predictions are so generic tht they could apply to anyone, others are based on the law of averages, others are confirmation bias. And a few are coincidences.

Emmageddon · 18/08/2018 21:34

I'm sceptical. I had my tarot cards read when I was early 20's. I was told I'd marry my then boyfriend and that he was good man. He subsequently smashed my flat up and hit me over the head with a pewter tankard because I didn't know where his car keys were. He was a good man alright Hmm

I was told I'd have 2 children, a daughter first, who would be big in politics in adulthood, and a son who would have a sickly start, but go on to be hale and hearty. My first born was a boy. None of my 4 children were sickly, nor are any of them big in politics.

I think it's easy to read what you want into these things. I don't like the way some prey on the bereaved either.

Yupindeedy · 18/08/2018 21:34

A medium once told me that my grandfather wasn’t happy with the way I was driving and that he was often with me in the car and I needed to slow down. Weird thing to say I thought at the time. What I didn’t know until I told my dad the next day was that my grandfather had been a driving instructor.

Same woman described my grandmother to a tee with very specific details.

Even after that I’m not 100% convinced but it was eerie to say the least.

Celebelly · 18/08/2018 21:34

If I had someone's name and knew vaguely where they lived, within 10 mins I could reel off a ton of information they would find 'shocking'. Even if you have Facebook locked down, it's easy to find info about you on relatives' Facebooks, electoral roll, LinkedIn, any hits on your name on newspaper sites, links to your real name and any usernames you use online, etc... This is what physics do. It isn't a miracle they know your partner's name - the census/electoral roll shows who lives at your address.

MalcolmsBrokenWalrusMoneybox · 18/08/2018 21:38

I went to one about 9 years ago, interestingly she mentioned that I had a ring that I kept taking off and putting back on again (engagement ring, I wasn't wearing it then and had to take it off for a sport), and a book that I kept turning back to the previous pages (I was trying to read a book in another language and struggling) but while those things were true, they aren't very useful for me to know are they!
She also said other things that had no bearing on my life then or now. I guess she got lucky.
