To not expect to see a naked man playing football in the park...

I had a friend staying over the weekend and we decided to take DD to the park at about 10 on Sunday morning. We walked up the road toward the entrance as as we got closer I could see teh whole park was empty apart from a 'large' man playing football in what appeared to be a skintight beige trousers and top.
My friend and I both stopped as he bent over and realised that he was actually stark bollock naked. He spotted us and put on some skimpy pants, and then carried on kicking a ball against the kids playground fence.

I called the police as I didn't fancy approaching him and they duly turned up and escorted him home. Apparently he thought it was most unfair as he didn't see what he had done wrong because he put his pants on when he saw us!

I don't think my friend will be back anytime soon.....

How strange!

Beauregard · 04/06/2007 13:02

Nutter.

Chirpygirl · 04/06/2007 13:06

The policewoman said apparently he had no record or anything and isn't known to them, but she thinks he genuinely didn't realise what he had done wrong so she thinks he might be slightly mentally disabled
(don't know if that is the pc way of saying it, and that's not exactly what she said, so don't jump on me!)

I managed ot get her and the woman in teh call centre stifling sniggers though. I was so shocked I couldn't stop laughing, luckily it was over the fence so DD couldn't see anything, she was just furious she couldn't go into the park instantly!

please could you go back this week and report if this is going to be a regular showing perhaps we could cash in and sell tickets

Chirpygirl · 04/06/2007 13:12

Ugh, no really, you wouldn't want to. I said to teh police that we wouldn't have minded if he had been fit but he was overweight (don't get me wrong, I am too, but I don't run around naked in public!) and really hairy!

bleurgh

I think it's a shame we can't be publicly naked.

SueBaroo · 04/06/2007 13:22

I'm bleedin' glad we can't be publically naked.

newlifenewname · 04/06/2007 13:23

Well, I wouldn't like imposed nakedness of course but nice to have the option.

Chirpygirl · 04/06/2007 13:28

I can see your point newlife, but I think playing footie in the kids playground at 10am is pushing naturism a little too far

I'd be horrified at an eyeful of random tackle in unexpected public places.

He sounds very weird. They found a completely naked flasher near my daughters' school. She and her friend had to tell the police what they'd seen. It's rare they do it with nothing on. He must have been very cold.

Well yse, it's a shame we can't be publicly naked. My father used to take us swimming with nothing on but that was isolated forests and also nudist beaches etc.

I think I'd prefer we changed the law to allow public nudity actually.

LoveAngel · 04/06/2007 14:29

Oh please. I don't want to see fat hairy old blokes parading around in the nuddy. Nudists I find bloody odd.

Sounds like maybe he did have some sort of learnig difficulties or whatever.

I don't see why in a free country you shouldn't have the freedom to wear no clothes. I don't imagine many people would indulge but that poor many trying to walk nude from Land's End to John O Groats who did he really upset walking across all those moors, a few sheep and yet people called the police. With all the women covering up in veils etc these days we need to make a stand about rights to be nude and our lack of hang ups in England.

SueBaroo · 04/06/2007 14:34

Skin coloured tracksits. I definitely don't want to see public nudity, but I'd rather that than skin coloured trackies.

The Borat swimming costume is coming to mind. Go to any British beach on a sunny day and you'll see some appalling sights but I still wouldn't ban them.

Judy1234 · 04/06/2007 14:36

FF, his right and I can always look away.

OrmIrian · 04/06/2007 14:37

I agree suebaroo - revolting thought! Nudity has it's place but possibly not in the middle of a town. He should have had the decency to wear something to stop the wobble......

Very odd.

newlifenewname · 04/06/2007 14:37

What actually is offensive about nudity anyway? I'm moving slighty away from OP because i get what the OPs issues are with it and wouldn't argue this because that is a personal view but in the general sense I feel we really have gotta ask why we have a problem with our bodily form.

Flashing excluded, but actually flasjing would have less thrill factor for the flasher if nudity was more usual.

Nbg · 04/06/2007 14:40

Did you get a good look Chirpy

Nothing wrong with nudity really, but it's not socially acceptable (in current society, mores, etc etc) at 10am in a park. If someone doesn't understand that's not a good time and place to be nekkid, then I'd worry what other social mores he was missing ...

Are 'sicko pedophiles' suddenly wandering around starkers? Confused
