After all this recent stuff. Please could we have someone else and make labour electable again. Why is he still there and do we think he still will be for the forseeable?

It’s silly hysterical woman making a drama out of nothing

But we have to remember that no one has suffered online abuse like Diane Abbott - I don’t doubt for one minute she does and many racist remarks have been made towards her the thing is it’s not ignored by Corbyn or played down decided by him that it isn’t a problem

LBC were handed a dossier of antisemitism cases that (allegedly) were considered by Labour's disciplinary Disputes Panel. The Met are now to investigate whether Labour members are guilty of antisemitic hate crimes, after party members were accused of calling for violence against Jews

Delights include

In one post, a member wrote: "We shall rid the Jews who are a cancer on us all."

Referring to Jewish people as "devils" and suggesting the Red Sea would be an "ideal destination" for them, they added: "No need for gas chambers anyway as gas is so expensive and we need it in England."

Another person called for a Jewish MP to "get a good kicking".

A third wrote: "One cannot understand the state of the world without understanding Jewish power, and one cannot understand the nature of Jewish power until one understands the nature of Jewish thinking."

And a sitting Labour councillor was accused of inflicting "ten years of hell" on a child, including calling him "Jew boy".

The article states that

"LBC showed 45 cases to the Met's former hate crime chief, Mak Chishty, who said at least 17 should be investigated as race-hate incidents. A further four should be investigated for potentially criminal hate crimes, he said."

All while Jon Lansman was re elected to the NEC, despite ranting that there was no anti semitism in the party, and it was all made up by 'Jewish Trump fanatics'

The Met are now to investigate whether Labour members are guilty of antisemitic hate crimes

And about time too. Does anyone seriously imagine that, had this been any other minority, there'd have been an attempt to deal with the issues internally instead of involving the police?

It's also been reported that Andrew Parker, the head of MI5, has asked Corbyn to attend a briefing on terror threats. According to The Times headline JC has "delayed" this, but since the rest is behind a paywall I'm wondering if anyone here has access and can do a copy and paste?

jasjas1973 · 04/09/2018 15:53

sputniknews.com/europe/201809021067686995-corbyn-mi5-briefing-terrorism/

Why would Mi5 be interested in briefing Corbyn and giving him a break down of terror threats in the UK? esp so long after his Manchester speech.

Do they think a GE in imminent

EarlyModernParent · 04/09/2018 15:58

perhaps they feel a polite chat about the kind of people to whom he is giving succour is merited?

Justanotherlurker · 04/09/2018 16:01

Unironically reading Sputnik news !!!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/09/2018 16:25

Thanks for the link jasjas

I realise we'll never find out, but I'm just trying to imagine Andrew Parker also faced with Seamus Milne ("the foundation of Israel was a crime") and Diane Abbott (who as Home Secretary could appoint his successor)

Good luck with that ...

Angiemum23 · 04/09/2018 16:37

He's a brilliant man who would sort out this mess of a country!

SillySallySingsSongs · 04/09/2018 19:34

He's a brilliant man who would sort out this mess of a country!

Ha ha ha ha ha he he.

He really isn't.

jasjas1973 · 04/09/2018 20:41

Referring to Andrew Parker ?

bananafish81 · 04/09/2018 20:42

Haha v funny joke!

He's done such a brilliant job over the summer as leader of the opposition, really holding this shit show of a government to account, posing a really viable challenge to the Tories. Oh no, wait. He spent most of the summer dictating to Jews what constitutes racism against them, and coming up with a tax to support the licence fee.

Game changing stuff!

Really feel like he's a safe pair of hands, 100%.

bellinisurge · 04/09/2018 21:41

Spot on @bananafish81 .

First time in my long life, I'm reluctant to tell people my Dad was Jewish. Heard snide anti Semitic crap from a Union activist and Labour supporter at my work. Public sector employer.
Never thought I would see the day.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 04/09/2018 21:42

So Corbyn didn’t get his own way with changes he wanted all in the name free speach Hmm

Again claiming that he and others only wish to raise concerns about the Palestinians plight and are not anti Semitic at all

The80sweregreat · 04/09/2018 21:44

They need a new leader.
End of.

Stripyhoglets1 · 04/09/2018 22:07

Well with all the momentum people getting voted onto the NEC yesterday they've made sure they have gained proper control of the whole party for the foreseeable. Even if Cornyn goes he'll just be replaced with similar . - I'm hoping if we lose the next election they will see sense but I'm not holding my breath.

Gushpanka · 04/09/2018 22:40

Maybe it really is time for a new centrist-left, pro-EU and non anti-semitic party? The moderate labour MPs, maybe some Lib Dems or even moderate Tories?

raisedbyguineapigs · 07/09/2018 09:09

My DH has some quite hard left friends. I don't like that he has gone a bit that way, but they are still not getting it. Any complaint about Corby and anti semitism is met by a barrage of criticism of Israel. They are doing exactly what is complained about with no understanding that its the abuse of Jewish party members and MP's with no sanction that is the issue. Its nothing to do with how evil or racist Israel is. As PP said, its like abusing Muslim MP's because Saudi Arabia is a racist and mysogynist state. Also, one thing that has bothered me is if JC has so much influence in the middle East that he has served as a peace keeper, has he done anything about Nazaneen Zadari-Ratcliffe being held by his mates in Iran? If he has no influence over that as Leader of the Opposition, he had absolutely no power as a backbench MP 'working towards peace' talking to terrorists in Ireland or the Me.

SillySallySingsSongs · 07/09/2018 09:31

What the hell were Press TV doing at the CLP meeting if Joan Ryan last night covering the vote if no confidence in her?

Gavin Shuker had one last night too and has been rightly quite scathing about it on Twitter.

Absolutely disgraceful.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 07/09/2018 12:28

Blair told Nick Robinson that he feels the Labour Party is unlikely to be taken back by the moderates in the party

Corbyn’s response is that Tony should recognise the party has the largest membership numbers ever

Oh well that’s ok then that’s far more important than having a party leader that won three consecutive elections with two elections won with a comfortable majority so Corbyn and co voting against his own party over and over again didn’t matter

Three years totally wasted having Corbyn the fucking idiot and momentum controlling the party

It’s maddeningly infuriating and deeply upsetting what had happened to the party

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/09/2018 12:29

SillySally I can't answer that, but it's desperately worrying to see the deselection campaign ramping up so fast. It's like the 1980s Militant Tendency all over again, except that MT had very little actual power and Momentum have a great deal

The idea of a government controlled by these people isn't just a bit concerning now - it's downright terrifying. To borrow Frank Field's description, the "intolerance, nastiness and intimidation" might appeal to some when it's directed at someone they dislike, but they'd do well to remember they could be next in line Hmm

bellinisurge · 07/09/2018 12:37

I had a moral dilemma- what if there was a snap GE and Corbyn took his head out of his arse and stood on a "Scrap Brexit before its loo late "platform - would I hold my nose and vote Labour again ( in my 50s - adult lifelong Labour voter ".
No, I wouldn't.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 07/09/2018 13:06

Still wouldn’t vote for him and momentum to lead the country

His past, his views regardless of his stance on brexit

And no party who has the chance of winning an election will stop brexit

raisedbyguineapigs · 07/09/2018 13:15

JC won't fight against be it because he has always been anti EU. You can't expect him to do so with any conviction. In fact if he was a true man of principle, he'd be embracing Brexit and explaining his reasoning for the past 30 years. He's busy wittering on today about renationalisation of the water industry. I'd be interested to know how he plans to renationalise industry? Through force, therefore crippling every single pension pot in the country or by buying up everyone's shares, leaving the government bankrupt?

tobee · 07/09/2018 17:04

Seriously what is the fucking point of having a party that has no interest in getting in power? I mean to actually do the necessary things that get the votes required to win enough seats? Really Corbyn's labour have the mentality of a pressure group.

All the bollocks about membership numbers and idiots like Chris Williamson sounds like the stuff Trump's been saying in the last few days. There are a huge amount of parallels between the cult of Trump support and Corbyn support. Trump managed to fool enough people to actually get him into power though. Presumably so could Corbyn if he had Putin's backing.

tobee · 07/09/2018 17:05

They're not even a good opposition
