After all this recent stuff. Please could we have someone else and make labour electable again. Why is he still there and do we think he still will be for the forseeable?

@theduchessstill The Tories and their pay masters are scared shitless of the measures Corbyn would introduce - closing tax loopholes, enhancing workers rights, holding the press to account. Where do you think all these smear campaigns come from? If you're in any doubt look at the donors behind the Tory Party, and the owners of the papers and their motivations. Sadly a good amount of the public don't have the brains to do that research - I'm sure that you do.

JimmyGrimble · 15/08/2018 18:58

An increasingly desperate right wing press will do ANYTHING to deflect our attention from the coming BREXIT shitstorm. Even the people who voted for BREXIT now recognise that they were lied to. Repent at leisure as they say.

ForalltheSaints · 15/08/2018 19:00

He has a lot of support within Labour Party grass roots membership and supporters. Even with his appeasement towards those who make anti-Semitic comments in his party I cannot see him going soon.

WickedGoodDoge · 15/08/2018 19:00

Bombardier Of course I don’t believe everything I read in the papers. What an odd thing to say. Hmm I’m well aware none of the graves were of confirmed terrorists which is why I specifically said MIL defended him because they were just “alleged” terrorists not proper ones.

theduchessstill · 15/08/2018 19:00

Bombadier - none of that matters if he can't win an election (other than within his own party) and he's showing absolutely no signs of doing so, and therefor isn't doing his job so needs to go.

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 15/08/2018 19:01

Anyone claiming this is a smear by the "right wing press" is an anti-Semite. Because what you're suggesting is Jews - who are rightfully outraged by Corbyn's actions and inactions - are somehow in cahoots with the press.

On top of that you're just straight up thick - Corbyn wrote about the wreath-laying himself in The Morning Star which isn't exactly "right wing press" is it.

It's the cult of personality around him that scares me the most. The only other leaders who have had that kind of slavish following have all turned out to be murderous dictators.

And one thing we know for sure about Corbyn is he loves murderous dictators (especially in the Middle East).

crunchymint · 15/08/2018 19:03

Some party members are having to learn what others learned in the 80's i.e. there is no point in having a Labour party that can't be elected.

marsbarsandtwix · 15/08/2018 19:04

Well the press didn't make up that he was at the wreath laying ceremony as there's photos to prove it and he's admitted it Confused
I wonder more it will take as the man is clearly not fit for purpose and seemingly doing fuck all opposition to a crap government. It's no good for the country just sitting back and letting Brexit be a shower of shit.I for one am disgusted with his anti semitic antics and also his general uselessness.

Yes please to Yvette Cooper - if only!

LapinR0se · 15/08/2018 19:05

If David milliband has got instead of Ed I think we’d be looking at a much better picture of Britain today.

marsbarsandtwix · 15/08/2018 19:05

Yes too right crunchymint

bellinisurge · 15/08/2018 19:05

There are smear campaigns and there are politicians who have dodgy track records that are easy to expose. Corbyn is the latter.
Burnham is no longer an MP. Neither is Jarvis.
Yvette Cooper and Kier Starmer should be at the head of the pack to replace that useless article.

Bombardier25966 · 15/08/2018 19:06

@WickedGoodDoge My point is that he didn't need to be defended, the story is based on lies.

@theduchessstill At each election (local and national) he gains seats, although you wouldn't know that if you rely on the MSM for your news. It's a marathon not a sprint.

marsbarsandtwix · 15/08/2018 19:06

Agreed lapin - Milliband or anyone normal seems light years away now

OP posts:
JimmyGrimble · 15/08/2018 19:06

Confessions
Ha ha ha .... so it's anti - semitic to say that Corbyn is attacked by the right wing press? Oh Purlease. Nobody has suggested that Jews are in cahoots with them ... except you.
And 'loving murderous dictators'? Really? What short memories some folks have.
What did you think of the report last week where Baroness Warsi attacked the Tories for their Islamophobia?

marsbarsandtwix · 15/08/2018 19:07

My cat could gain seats against the current gov't so that's not a compelling argument anyway as far as I'm concerned.

I have a feeling the Labour Party don't want to deal with Brexit so are twiddling their thumbs while the Tories make a mess of it

I've thought that from the start. Corbyn would rather eat his own left foot than be seen to be responsible for Brexit. It's the ultimate poison chalice, May will need to resign when it's done and I suspect that's her intention.

Thr Labour Party has become very hard left, with some very devout followers, but more and more of its members are starting to realise their leadership is a disaster zone and he's a liability.

If shit didn't keep emerging about Corbyn and his antics, he would be an ideal lead for the opposition. He's just a back bench rabble rouser but he's very good at it. However as he's also a known terrorist sympathiser, and anti Semite, he's basically just fucking Labour over. The issue is he believes his ideologies. He's not caring about the party.

The fact he also lies to the public is just really the cherry on the toxic cake.

Bombardier25966 · 15/08/2018 19:11

@ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen Murderous dictators like Netanyahu?

If you bothered to read about the Morning Star article you'll find no mention of the Munich terrorists because the wreath laying ceremony was nothing to do with their graves. It wasn't even in the same country.

If you're going to call other people thick then please do check your own understanding first. And stop falling for everything you read in the press.

GerdaLovesLili · 15/08/2018 19:11

It doesn't matter if I vote for him...not in my "pig in a red rosette" constituency, what matters is if Barry, Gary and Ethel in the swing constituencies vote for him. And they won't.

It doesn't matter if every Labour member votes for him (and now many won't) Labour need ordinary not-usually-political voters to vote for him.

You can be as rude as you like and call people names, but Labour Party Members are not who you need to vote for him.

If Labour activists want Labour in power then Magic Santa has to go.

More people now support "don't know" than either of the main party leaders.

Meanwhile I've joined the Monster Raving Loony Party. They seem a pretty solid choice in the current climate.

MarthaArthur · 15/08/2018 19:11

Google cult of personality. That will tell you why this corbyn cult is so scary. Replace 'Stalin'with 'corbyn' and its the same thing. I really cant stand him which sucks as it means i cant vote labour.

Deshasafraisy · 15/08/2018 19:13

Do your own research rather than believing all the bile fed to you through mainstream media and you will find he is very electable.

FranticallyPeaceful · 15/08/2018 19:14

‘He attended an annual ceremony for victims of Israeli bombing in 1985, as confirmed by the Palestinian ambassador to the UK.’

Arm child killers and terrorist countries and nobody says a word. Lay a wreath at a memorial and people lose their fucking shit. The absolute state of British politics’

If you can’t see the media, including the BBC, relentlessly targeting the Leader of the Opposition while failing comprehensively in its duty to hold this disastrous govt to account - then you need serious words with yourself.

Britain's Saudi allies are making deals with al-Qaeda and recruiting hundreds of their fighters in their British-armed and backed war in Yemen... but WAHHH corbyn, who isn’t even in power, laid a wreath at a memorial.

Just shush.

theduchessstill · 15/08/2018 19:15

At each election (local and national) he gains seats, although you wouldn't know that if you rely on the MSM for your news. It's a marathon not a sprint.

That is the kind of arrogant, pig-headed nonsense that is fucking the country over and helping to ensure JRM gets the hard Brexit he longs for Angry.

YY to Yvette Cooper - I voted for her but won't get a vote for the next leader - if there ever is one again - because I've left the shit-shower that is LAbour today.

theduchessstill · 15/08/2018 19:17

Do your own research rather than believing all the bile fed to you through mainstream media and you will find he is very electable.

FFS, to be electable he must win over vast swathes of people who will get their news from the mainstream media. This isn't good enough...

marsbarsandtwix · 15/08/2018 19:18

erm yeah cos the public love doing a bit of research don't they, like they did for Brexit Wink

That's not logical is it? A prime minister who can't manage his public image? That's not electable by its very definition.
