I really like 'old person' names for cats like Algernon, Boris, Clara or Mabel. I also like literary ones like Mog or Catticus Finch.

Mine's bruce, no idea why

Doesn't matter what you name them, they will end up with something more appropriate in the end.

My family members who haven’t read Old Possoms are very anti Macavity but I am standing my ground 😂😂

@LadyRussell we had a macavity when I was a little girl - named after old possums. He was a beautiful fluffy ginger kitten! Unfortunately he set my mums asthma off to the point where she was rushed into hospital so we had to rehome him :(

I suggested skimbleshanks for our new kitten. DH and DC looked at me like I was a bit mad and we called her Ivy 😂

My first cat as a child was called Skimble

I'd love a Skimble or a Bustopher one day! Our Bengal is Poppy so he gets called Poppy Oppy Dots (after Jenny Any Dots)!

We christened our friends kitten 'Shit Legs' as it had long hair and .. well, you can guess the rest. It kind of stuck as they officially called it 'Pongo' in the end.

A friend had a long haired cat called 'Sticky', due to the amount of twigs, slugs, seeds etc it used to come in with!

If its a black and white Tom, 'Horse' after the cat in the Footrot Flats cartoon strip.

When we were discussing possible cat names, one of my boys came up with Mrs Fluffybuckles!!

My other son mentioned Mewslie would be a good name!

This is Clive . Clive the barn cat , who is not allowed in our house . Hmm .

We've just rescued a 2yr old moggie - her cattery name was Cissy but it didn't suit her as she is FIERCE! So we've renamed her Lulu (granddaughter's choice)

My large ginger Tom cat is called Pat as when he got him from the rescue centre my toddler son keep saying “pat the cat, pat the cat”
