Stupid I know but I was looking forward to it.

OP posts:

Fries are always salted unless the customer requests them unsalted!

NicoAndTheNiners · 05/08/2018 21:03

Years ago with a young dd we stopped at a drive through and I ordered her a chicken nugget meal. Got it and drove off as I wasn’t eating.

Dd is munching some chips as I’m driving along next thing something hits me on the back of the head! It was a fillet o fish slice which dd had found in the bag instead of nuggets and hurled it at my head in disgust!

They don’t even sell fillet o fish slices separately.....couldn’t go back as I was now a mile down a dual carriageway thing. Dd was furious and I wasn’t pleased with her for chucking it at my head! They still owe me some nuggets! Grin

SirGawain · 05/08/2018 21:13

OP log it with 101 in case it happens again!

yaffingale · 05/08/2018 21:16

This is a Mac Donald's cheeseburger that we've had sitting in a glass cabinet at work, unwrapped, for over three years. Just a little experiment.

We are still waiting for it to decompose......Envy

Oh are they using the ready assembled egg tubes? :(

I didn't realise they did that in the UK.

SneakyGremlins · 05/08/2018 21:24

The what, Languid? Shock

Redtartanshoes · 05/08/2018 21:26

This is why I devour mine in the car sat outside Macdonald’s Grin

LanguidLobster · 05/08/2018 21:27

Sneaks (don't google it) in the US they make an egg tube and slice it up

Laiste · 05/08/2018 21:29

rogue - Every single product in McDonalds has a gold standard - as in, exactly what it should look, taste, feel, smell like when made correctly. It is extremely detailed and crew are coached on what gold standard products are and what they look like

While i admire the commitment which shines through your posts, i HAVE to ask - is the 'gold standard' for the look of a basic hamburger 'Sat On'? Because mine always do look as if someone has sat on them. Top bun sort of sliding off the bottom bun, one side thinner than the other, ketchup half slopped out. Also often times the wrappers barely wrap the contents and the other day in DHs mayo chicken burger the lettuce hadn't even made it into the bun with everything else. Gold standard - 'Flung Across The Kitchen' look Grin

Sallystyle · 05/08/2018 21:29

Last week I got one burger in my Big Mac. Fuckers.

SmacketOfPokeyBacon · 05/08/2018 21:38

Same thing happened to us today, ordered 2 Big Mac meals, one Big Mac missing! Given that 9 times out of 10 I get a salad but today wanted the stodge I was fully prepared to fight DH to the death for the burger, fortunately he was a gent and went back for the other while I inhaled it.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 05/08/2018 21:56

Oh are they using the ready assembled egg tubes?

LanguidLobster Thankfully no! We cook our eggs fresh to order Smile

is the 'gold standard' for the look of a basic hamburger 'Sat On'?

And no it isn’t!

Eliza9917 · 05/08/2018 21:57

@WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneWrong I worked in mcds in sixth form and we always salted fries unless asked not to and the only people that ever asked was these people that had a kid with kidney problems. We would empty the fries station, clean it, do a fresh batch and give them those.

But this issue of unsalted fried has happened so often I assumed it was some new health thing to reduce salt in people's diets. DP always asks for salt now.

blacksax · 05/08/2018 21:58

I got a spicy beanburger once instead of a quarterpounder with cheese, but I ate it anyway and it was all right.

If I'd been veggie and they'd got it the other way round, I wouldn't have been all that impressed though.

Eliza9917 · 05/08/2018 21:58

We also always check our order at the till or window too to make sure it's all present and correct as wrong orders have happened a lot too, admittedly not for along time, do they are getting better, but some need to salt the bloody fries!

QuestionableMouse · 05/08/2018 22:01

@LanguidLobster,

No tube eggs in the UK. Round egg is made using fresh (as in still in the shell eggs) while folded is made from premixed eggs in a carton.

LanguidLobster · 05/08/2018 22:04

That's a relief about the egg tubes - they look a bit Frankenstein-ish (and I have an egg McMuffin planned for tomorrow morning!).

Coffee is good at McD.

CheekyRedhead · 05/08/2018 22:09

I can join in. Tonight I got no dip with our nuggets which is annoying but....I also paid 20p for sour cream dip and they didn't give me that either grrrrrAngry

BarbaraofSevillle · 06/08/2018 03:01

I saw a program once where they made tube eggs to go in the middle of either that pork pie or sandwich meat that is sold sliced on supermarket deli counters.

Using them in mcmuffins is grim but l don't like egg yolk unless it is runny so have bagels with the omelette instead.

QuestionableMouse · 06/08/2018 04:54

@BarbaraofSevillle Sorry but did you read what I wrote? Tube eggs are not used in any UK McDonald's restaurant.

There's a website on the top of every receipt. It's for a survey so you can give feedback on stuff like service, how good the food was, how accurate your order was and so on. If you're giving a negative, you need to say why so the problem can be fixed.

Severide08 · 06/08/2018 10:29

Had it happen to me and our closest is a 20 mins drive away so I rang them because it was sauce on my burger I hate sauce with a passion they replaced mine and refunded cost of whole meal as I had drive back cause it was their mistake .

BeetrootBonanza · 06/08/2018 10:45

Not particularly user friendly, but I recently placed an order at a McDonalds at a services through the order screens rather than with an actual person at a till, and found it easier to specify requirements and any menu changes.

Pandakin · 06/08/2018 10:46

I always check mine straight away, my veggie burger had a chicken fillet thing in it once. They don't even look like the veggie patties so luckily I realised before eating.

dailyshite · 26/08/2018 10:23

I'm veggie and have had this a few times, it's so frustrating. Now when I order I say egg muffin NO MEAT, and they invariably get a bit arsey 'it doesn't come with meat'. Well I know that but it would seem that your colleagues don't fucking know that!
