Amazon Prime next day delivery is false advertising.

So Amazon Prime, that I pay a reasonable amount of membership for each month, is no longer next day delivery?

I have noticed over the last month that their Prime next day delivery is actually taking two days.
So if I order today I won’t get my items until Monday now.

I don’t mind the waiting two days, that’s still a good delivery time BUT what I do mind is I’m paying the membership due to wanting next day delivery.

I am a bit pissed off that basically it’s false advertising on their part. They push Prime membership being next day delivery on Prime items which TBH is the main draw of Paying the membership!

It’s also the bloody sneaky way they are stopping the next day. After doing a quick google it seems they have slowly been offering next day to less and less customers rather than put out a statement explaining they are no longer offering the next day but are offering x,y,z.

So AIBU and it’s not a big deal, just suck it up and think yourself lucky you get two days delivery time,
Or be a bit miffed they charge £10 per month with one of the biggest makerting points being next day delivery and email them showing my distaste Grin

Hardly use Amazon anymore, delivery is slow & prices aren’t even that competitive anymore. Hasn’t it taken them years & with huge spends do turn a profit? Now they have the customer base things will get more expensive.

JacquesHammer · 03/08/2018 17:26

I don’t have the time or the inclination to read a whole thread of people complaining about Amazon Prime

Yeah those four pagers are tough Wink

Silvertap · 03/08/2018 17:27

amazon prime is worth it for one thing and one thing only.

Outlander

applesin · 03/08/2018 17:28

Yeah this is exactly why we cancelled our prime membership- the extra perks weren't at all what we wanted really. Wanted trouble next day delivery. I now tend to use eBay as even including postage it seems to mostly be cheaper than amazon (obviously depending on the item).

JacquesHammer · 03/08/2018 17:28

I wondered if they’re placing way more focus on the Amazon Pantry side?

I made a couple of orders whilst I was laid up and the service was fantastic.

TatianaLarina · 03/08/2018 17:29

Yeah those four pagers are tough

Fucking tedious is what they are. It’s not an affair thread where you have to read the whole story. But hey, if you have so little in your life that this is what you fill it with that’s up to you.

Duvetday123 · 03/08/2018 17:29

Thanks – you've just reminded me to cancel my subscription for exactly this reason!

Redglitter · 03/08/2018 17:30

Since they introduced the delivery charge on items under £20

I don't think that's a general charge. I've never paid for delivery on any items regardless of order price

neveradullmoment99 · 03/08/2018 17:30

No. As I’ve said repeatedly, I specifically choose items that give Next day delivery before checkout, which then changes once I’ve paid.

Ive had this happen to me too.

JacquesHammer · 03/08/2018 17:31

But hey, if you have so little in your life that this is what you fill it with that’s up to you

Grin says the person posting on the same thread.

You’re a hoot love, you’ve made waiting for my appointment rather fun!

PutItAwayDear · 03/08/2018 17:31

Yes! Hardly anything is actually next day delivery any more. Most things are the day after and the cut off time is getting earlier and earlier.

Plughole3 · 03/08/2018 17:32

John Lewis click & collect is super handy for me.

FrolickingForklift · 03/08/2018 17:34

I've been ok and had no issues when direct from amazon. Which is odd because I live in an area of the uk where it is often classed as not mainland (despite being mainland)

Davros · 03/08/2018 17:36

I've noticed the same and I'm in zone 2 London so I doubt if it's location. I cancelled but reinstated as I realised I use the music for DS with ASD. I returned something recently giving the reason as "arrived later than stated delivery" or something like that. DH and I have discussed how shit it's got

VickyEadie · 03/08/2018 17:37

Interestingly, I've never paid for Prime - but the majority of stuff I order on 'free delivery within 3-5 days' comes the next day.

Just sayin...

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/08/2018 17:37

Does it depend where you live? I'm in central London and have no problem (apart from the odd thing, usually from a third party seller) getting either next day or same day delivery, on the whole. But when I try to send something to my Mum, who lives in a large village about 35 miles outside London, it is rarely next day, but usually the day after.

I have complained every single time that Amazon have failed to deliver when they said they would, and have had around two years of free Prime, as they extend it by a month every time I complain.

TatianaLarina · 03/08/2018 17:37

It’s hard to credit that someone is actually trying to score ego kibbles from reading a whole 5 pages on Amazon Prime in 30 degree heat, but there are some right loons on here.

LBOCS2 · 03/08/2018 17:38

Yep, I've had it change post-checkout too - and then they bare faced lied to me when I called them to complain. I didn't get a month free or even an apology and I came away from the call fuming, I was basically patronised and told I should read things more carefully. Um, I did thanks, it's not my fault you change things unilaterally.

And I live 3 miles from the nearest distribution hub.

TatianaLarina · 03/08/2018 17:38

I’m in central London and we still get much next day, but I and noticed that some things come with a delay.

TatianaLarina · 03/08/2018 17:39

JacquesHammer · 03/08/2018 17:41

in 30 degree heat

Ah that explains it. Sorry you're having such a hot, humid day. Get's to us all doesn't it?

Its a lovely balmy 21 here - first pleasant day in ages lack of Amazon deliveries notwithstanding

TatianaLarina · 03/08/2018 17:42

Are you lonely Jaques? What’s this all about?

rednsparkley · 03/08/2018 17:43

I do everything I can to avoid using Amazon for any items at all. I hate them and I hate their tax-avoiding, robbing, cheating attitude so I spend my money elsewhere.

Before this, when I did use them, they signed me up to Prime and I only noticed when £80 I didn't have disappeared from my account. I would never ever have asked for it, I couldn't afford it. That was the start of my hatred Grin

sunshinewithabitofdrizzle · 03/08/2018 17:44

I've noticed less and less products being available next day. I agree it's annoying. I'm in the Greater London area so it shouldn't be an issue for me, not like I'm in the middle of nowhere.

Cismyass · 03/08/2018 17:46

YABU shopping with Amazon. They are cunts.
