To go back to the salon and ask for my hair to be re-done?

So I went into a National hair salon for a wash cut with a senior stylist a few days ago. I specifically asked for someone with knowledge of my hair type and was advised this Is the lady to help. I was specific in saying I need a cut that will work with me just washing it and letting it air dry. I don’t have time for drying it straight and styling daily. The stylist said she could do this and took a fair amount off the length- not a problem as I expected it. When she finished the cut she suggested blowing drying it straight as I’m in the saloon, I agreed. I didn’t get to see the cut and how it will dry naturally as a result and I’ve since washed and air dried it at home and it looks awful! Really ragged and like it’s a mop! Do I have grounds to go back and asked for it to be redone?

You didn't get what you asked for, and you were pretty specific, so I'd expect them to put it right.

WipsGlitter · 29/07/2018 21:26

Do you have curly hair? Friends despair of finding a good hairdresser. Same problem it all shrinks back up when dry.

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2018 21:28

If your hair is already short, which sounds like it is, I don't think there is much you can do, except go for a short crop. A Bob type hair cut would be good, to let dry naturally. Its a very versatile hair cut and looks good on most people.

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 29/07/2018 21:29

Yes go back and say you’re not happy with the cut.

Pengggwn · 29/07/2018 21:29

Hmm. It depends how realistic you were being about the power of a haircut. My hair frizzes up no matter what a hairdresser does to it.

Aridane · 29/07/2018 21:30

Yes, go back

Harmonyrays · 29/07/2018 21:39

I should say It cost me £68 and looks like this!

I knew it would jump up, that’s ok. It’s more that it has no shape or style!

Op that looks awful like they've just hacked into it! Defintely go back

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2018 21:42

Ok there is length to work with, maybe ask them to redo it into a Bob cut

AnduinsGirl · 29/07/2018 21:43

Definitely go back!! That's shocking - £68?? IT's not even a style as such (no offence!)

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 29/07/2018 21:44

Good grief Shock I'm really sorry to say this but it looks like a 5yr old has been let loose on you with scissors!

SendYouUpInFlames · 29/07/2018 21:47

Jesus what have they done to you. They've literally cut chunks out of your hair.

Definitely go back!! Complain!!

Aeroflotgirl · 29/07/2018 21:48

I agree, there is no style, just looks all over the place.

Fang2468 · 29/07/2018 21:48

Goodness me, there’s chunks out of that Shock!!!
I had a very bad hair cut earlier this year, it was kind of mullet like, when I asked for layers. I was very upset. I got it chopped into a short bob as it looked so bad.

ivykaty44 · 29/07/2018 21:49

I'm sorry but not really sure what you are expecting, you say you haven't got time to do anything with your hair, but that doesn't even look like you've brushed or combed it?

Crunchymum · 29/07/2018 21:50

Blimey OP. That is fucking awful (Sorry but I'm sure you know it is!)

I'd be demanding they sort it out. ASAP

Harmonyrays · 29/07/2018 21:50

It’s that bad isn’t! Ok, how to word it?

OP posts:
Brainfogmcfogface · 29/07/2018 21:51

No no no straight back to the salon and get that sorted. My DD has super curly hair and when she eventually gets it cut I’ll be looking for a salon that specializes in deva cuts

NotMeNoNo · 29/07/2018 21:52

Also make sure to work out what products. I know they sell you extras but I have a wax and a styling spray I use to give my hair definition. To literally have hair you can just dry naturally without even a bit of rough drying or product is a tall order with wavy hair.

todaythereisabreeze · 29/07/2018 21:52

Was it Toni and guy?

Harmonyrays · 29/07/2018 21:53

So my hair was washed this morning and I applied a copious amount of leave in conditioner. Brushed it through and left to air dry. 12 hours later it looks like this!

spiderplantsalad · 29/07/2018 21:53

show them that picture and tell them what you told us. It sounds like you were really clear about what you wanted and they said they could do it. Are you sure you trust the same person near your hair with a pair of scissors though?

Harmonyrays · 29/07/2018 21:53

Yes it was Toni and guy!

Knew it!

They are shit.
