To feel terrified after reading the prepping for Brexit threads?

LittleNapRefuser · 28/07/2018 20:26

I have genuinely cried real tears of fear after reading the threads on prepping for Brexit today. I have a toddler and right now I am terrified of what is to come and their future after all this.

I don't really have anyone to talk to about this in 'real life' because most people I know aren't reading the news or don't seem to care.

Should I be terrified? Should I be scared for my baby's future? Can anyone reassure me or offer me an alternative perspective on all this. I don't want to to put my head in the sand but I feel really afraid.

Ain'tnothing - only getting repetitive as you are. You actually said not interested when someone answered after professing you were.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 21:29

It’s ok keyboard just me and rainbows butting heads.
I’m still waiting for her to say something of substance

eightfacesofthemoon · 29/07/2018 21:29

CHILL THE FUCK OUT PEOPLE.

AllIHaveToDo · 29/07/2018 21:30

Justanother - I never said JC was or wasn't far right so I don't need to tell you shit on that. Again I never mentioned JC, you did.

I said the far right have already taken a hold hence Brexit. (Johnson, JRM, David Davis, Farage et al.) Read into that what you will, you clearly have already. Jog on. I've no time for the riddles that you speak and you twisting my words.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 21:31

rainbows you have actually reduced me to a weakened mess lying with a cold flannel over my face.

AllIHaveToDo · 29/07/2018 21:32

Rainbows - do you actually have a view on Brexit or are you just here to goad? Genuine question.

Justanotherlurker · 29/07/2018 21:34

Also Singapore and Canada added to that list recently. Look what we could have won...

I am not sure what you are trying to imply, or that it is the win that you think it is. These situations show that trade deals can be met without the freedom of movement and other caveats..

Ain'tnothing - think we'll both be waiting an age for rainbows to reply. Perhaps they are too busy playing Fairies, or Knights and Princesses to have any views on reality.

AbsentmindedWoman · 29/07/2018 21:36

Francine I already did.

I conceded that your attitude of determinedly insisting it would all be fine - while ridiculing other people who are concerned about a potential shortage of insulin - is probably down to your reluctance to deal with possible realities.

You are projecting your fear onto me expressed as anger.

I couldn't give a shit.

I only hope that your child, and all other children, as well as adults like myself, have access to insulin if we have a chaotic few weeks.

As an insurance policy, it is worth setting some extra aside.

Justanotherlurker · 29/07/2018 21:36

I never said JC was or wasn't far right so I don't need to tell you shit on that. Again I never mentioned JC, you did.

You implied that Brexit was far right, and ignored JC, Morning star etc etc so of course I brought him up.

I said the far right have already taken a hold hence Brexit. (Johnson, JRM, David Davis, Farage et al.) Read into that what you will, you clearly have already. Jog on. I've no time for the riddles that you speak and you twisting my words.

You being politically inept is not something that requires reading between the lines.

keyboardkate · 29/07/2018 21:36

Rainbows will appear again with nothing to say, once they have had a good sleep.

Will be fine.

Anyway, where were we?

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 21:37

I suspect that rainbows voted out, is feeling confused and scared but doesn’t have a bloody clue what’s going on.
She grabs onto an idea and clings to it for grim life.
Then spends her time telling me that I am not listening.............sigh

rainbowsandsmiles · 29/07/2018 21:37

Ain'tnothing - you said you weren't interested when people were answering you.

AllIHaveToDo · 29/07/2018 21:38

Justanother - then I shall spell it out. It means that the EU won't care a shiny shit about UK leaving as a member state if they're already striking up free trade agreements with those not in the EU trading bloc. This has happened since the referendum.

We haven't even got the ball rolling on that one yet. Not even an agreement in principle.

Sorry, that was presumptious, rainbows is not clearly female

rainbowsandsmiles · 29/07/2018 21:39

Voted Remain, but it's obvious you believe whatever regardless.

rainbowsandsmiles · 29/07/2018 21:40

Some people who voted Remain still have a grasp on reality though.

AllIHaveToDo · 29/07/2018 21:40

You implied that Brexit was far right, and ignored JC, Morning star etc etc so of course I brought him up.

JC has always been Eurosceptic - he isn't far right though. He's left-wing. Some would consider him far left. So was Tony Benn - so what?

And you call me politically inept. Jeez at least I understand a political compass ffs!

keyboardkate · 29/07/2018 21:41

The real issue is that those who advocated Brexit have nothing to back themselves up in selling it to Remainers now.

If they ever did that is!

(oh and I see that rainbows has woken from slumber with nothing to say again) Yay.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 21:42

rainbows will you fucking shut up banging on about an expression I used in a post that you have stuck to like shit to a soldiers blanket.
WHEN are you going to say ANYTHING of fucking merit?
And if you tell me AGAIN that I’m not fucking listening I will stop listening 😉 now there’s a threat

yolofish · 29/07/2018 21:43

ANYWAY, to get back to the topic at hand and without derailing. It seems entirely sensible to me that given the current situation it can do absolutely no harm for those lucky enough financially to be able to do so to get some dry stores/tins/essential meds in so that the blips (and lets hope that is all they are) in the supply chain can be survived without too much hassle. For those who cant afford it, I hope that those of us who did get a few bits in in advance will share via foodbanks etc.

However, I think the Blitz spirit is a bit of a fantasy... pretty much like the rainbows and sunlit uplands and blue passports leavers voted for.

AllIHaveToDo · 29/07/2018 21:44

For Justanother - the Leave campaign was made up of far-right wingers. Yes left wingers too can be eurosceptic. It's a cross party conundrum. But the Leave campaign whipped up fear about Turkey and the Middle East - I remember that leaflet I got posted through my door telling me the reasons we should vote Leave. And that wasn't down to left-wing eurosceptics. It was down to the far-right. Ffs are you always so obtuse?

AbsentmindedWoman · 29/07/2018 21:45

"Just because you've never come across one that is not constantly talking about the possibility of their child dying (after four hours) does not mean they don't exist you Ignorant fucking wanker."

Francine, I never said that.

But keep frothing and ranting, it's quite fascinating now.

Cunt is one of my favourite words too
