Neighbour's toddler waking entire street up

I've NC'd for this as it might be outing.

Our NDN has an 22-month-old DC who doesn't talk much but squawks like a parrot at top volume. I swear this is no exaggeration - it's the most bizarre noise. From what we can tell, toddler's parents never encourage him not to make the noise - they just let him squawk. I think they're from the "be expressive" school of thought.

My AIBU is that they're bringing him out into their back garden at 6.30am when he's up and he's squawking everyone awake, including my DC, whose room is at the back too. I get that it's very hot and really hard for kids to sleep at the moment, but isn't it incredibly selfish to inflict that noise on everyone else if you're not going to try to teach the child to moderate it when appropriate? Or am I just being a grumpy old moaner?

And if INBU, should I say something?

Point is that posters are being deliberately rude to me. The situation being discussed is open to interpretation and the mother of the toddler is not intending to upset anyone.

I'm not being deliberately rude to you.

I'm just winding you up because it's funny Grin

Is there any need for that comment? Really?!

Point is that posters are being deliberately rude to me.

I completely support @formerbabe in saying that people should be considerate of other people's feelings, and courteous even when they don't have to be. In fact that point is very germane to the OP.

Not read TFT, so I'll just go and read all the other comments she's made...............

Pot and kettle springs to mind

No its not its pretty black and white.
Its rude and inconsiderate to let your toddler wake up your neighbours by screaming outside at 6.30 in the morning. It would be rude if it was an adult or your granny. The mother should have enough brain cells to realise this and its going to piss off every one next to her.

Maybe try going outside at 6.30 tomorrow morning and screaming loudlyl for hours and see what response you get? Be interesting to see if your neighbours accept that your 'right' to do what you want trumps thier right to sleep past 6.30?
