My Husband has been taken into custody

He has broken my nose, my left cheekbone and dislocated my shoulder. My children are with my mum and the police have called social services. I am paralytic with fear that they will take my babies away. He always said they would because one day he would kill me.

OP just wanted the let you know I’ve been thinking of you the past couple of days. You have been incredibly brave to do the things you have to protect yourself & your babies. It’s only natural to feel shocked at what’s happened, you’ll probably feel like that for a while, & then start playing over all the ‘what if’s’ in your mind. Please remember this is not in any way your fault, you couldn’t have prevented it, you didn’t deserve it & the blame lies solely with your husband, no matter what he may try to tell you in the coming days, weeks or months. Divorcing him & keeping him out of yours & your babies lives as much as possible is completely the right, & best, thing you can do for yourself & them.

Glad to see your update, that you're home and that you've given a brief statement to the police. No wonder you're feeling shell-shocked after the past few days - be kind to yourself and take it one day at a time. It's good that your mum is there with you. Have the locks been changed? Do you feel safe?

So relieved to hear you're safely back at your mum's.

You must be reeling from the speed of all this as well as the hideous physical assault. Hang on in there - you will come out the other side (my sister had to leave a physically abusive relationship, and it is hell to go through, but you will be so much happier once it's over and you have your freedom).

Rather like 'it's not terrys' I too have been thinking about you and hoping you are on the mend and safe. I have a friend who is a police officer and know from her that police will support you if you need help. Please call them if you are worried.
So sorry that you have to go through this, but as others are saying, long term this is the best outcome and you and your children can be safe.

Hi OP how are you doing. I hope your starting to feel a bit more positive. X

Goth237 · 31/07/2018 23:29

It hasn't gone as fast as you think it has, OP. There were huge red flags that this could happen when he's threatened you and held your hair tight. It's all forms of abuse. I'm sorry for the situation you're in. And I truly hope that you are able to keep strong, do what needs to be done to keep him as far away from you and your family. Good luck OP.
