to think the worst part of the heatwave is the constantly sweaty (ahem) vulva?

Yes, I have NC'd for this. Blush

Anyone else getting irritated by constant irritation due to the heat? The sweat causes 'paper cuts' and it stings when I have a bath etc.

Roll on autumn!!!

havent RTFT but roll on deoderant on inner thighs can stop chafing

Seasawride · 25/07/2018 20:13

I can’t say vulva!! My mother would slap me it’s a rude word Grin I am 52 she’s 85! Grin seriously she would she still says ‘noo noo’ and that was 50 years pre the teletubbies Grin

Purplealienpuke · 25/07/2018 20:16

I use a dry stick deodorant on my thighs to stop chafing. Works a treat! For some reason produces a rash under my boobs though 🤔

shoesarefab · 25/07/2018 20:36

Mines sweaty, and swollen. I am 33 weeks pregnant though and suffering with SPD. I’d like to go to sleep and wake up in November so the baby will have been born, I will have moved house, I’ll be back in my own wardrobe again and it will be cold!!!

starlight13 · 25/07/2018 21:06

Well this is an eye opener! Never experienced any of these but they sound awful. I only wear cotton though - underwear and clothing so maybe that's the answer?

glenaim · 25/07/2018 21:14

Try bamboo underwear and tops,it is naturally anti-fungal,anti-baterial and will not get smelly, plus it wicks away water better than anything else, and will keep the body area(s) 1-2 degrees cooler than the outside temperature

EggysMom · 25/07/2018 21:21

Doesn't matter what fibres I wear, I could be naked and still be dripping with sweat (and generally am, in bed). It's not so much the heat as the humidity, the other day it was cooler (by temperature) but even more muggy.

RiverTam · 25/07/2018 21:26

What does ‘wicks away’ mean in practice? Because if it’s removing sweat from the body, where is that sweat going? Into the clothing?

NCsweatyarse · 25/07/2018 21:29

I don't have a problem with my minge, but sweat rolling down my butt crack is truly dreadful.....I can't stick a panty liner down there, can I? any tips for my bum hell? I did wonder if folded up kitchen roll might be ok but I tried it and felt like I had a brick shoved in there. I was walking along like John bloody Wayne after a very long day's stallion.

I get this. My strategy is to wear only dresses which are patterned so if I get sweaty while sitting the sweat is somewhat masked. I do wear shorts sometimes but again, only patterned ones and I have a couple of tee shirts that cover my arse.

BuntyII · 25/07/2018 21:34

I have got the worst of all. Sweaty underbelly.

SkaTastic · 25/07/2018 21:36

Oh maaaaaaan I love you all so much!! My sweaty fanny is doing my head in it is vile. I've taken to taking in a pair of clean knickers to work. I'm on 7 showers a day and still feel gross. If I even thought about putting deodorant so close to my vag I would have to deal with Thrush From Hell.

Roll on Autumn!!

letmepeeinpeace · 25/07/2018 21:38

Glenaim where do you buy bamboo underwear?

NCsweatyarse · 25/07/2018 21:42

Is no one else getting under-arse sweat? The backs of my thighs are like Niagara falls when I'm on the tube

I get this, related to my arse sweat. Once I was on a tram with a friend and her DS in a very hot city. They sat together on one side and I found a single seat across from them. The seat behind them became available so I moved. My friend hissed, "Go back! GO BACK!", in a "save yourself" kind of way, as that side of the tram was in direct sun.

I did go back but I was still sliding around in my seat as my skirt was very soggy. But, as my strategy, mentioned in a pp, of wearing patterns usually hides the sweat I was not too worried. Nevertheless, as I got off the tram, I casually slid my skirt around back to front to check. It was soaking but you couldn't tell. Grin

Tara12 · 25/07/2018 21:44

Your vulva do not sweat but going commando should help. Also organic olive oil mixed with a small amount of coconut oil. I actually make something with these inwhich totally deters candida and if you have 'cuts' more than likely this is candida soreness not caused by sweat.
I would go to the GP and get checked first.
Anyway, no way will olive oil harm you down there.

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 25/07/2018 21:47

I'm liking vajulva!

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 25/07/2018 21:49

Ooh bunty, a sweaty skin skirt is a friend to nobody!

ALittleBitofEverything111 · 25/07/2018 23:06

Just be really really glad you’re not heavily pregnant in this heat.

SlummyMummyof3 · 25/07/2018 23:26

I read somewhere recently about using Scholl Athletes Foot powder (effectively anti fungal talcum powder) for underboob area and have been very impressed with its efficiency! Have started powdering the lady garden too and it seems to be helping to cool things down a bit but I’m struggling to wear shorts or trousers in the heat as just end up with a sweaty crack! Blush

lololove · 26/07/2018 00:07

i suffer from hyperhidrosis, this is how I feel pretty much all year round - even in deepest darkest winter unfortunately. I've been followed around shops whilst Christmas shopping in December because I'm bright red and sweating profusely and they clearly thought I was a shoplifter rather than my nervous system hating me!

Sparklyhousedust · 26/07/2018 00:32

Oh thank God, not just me! Those panty liners with gel- no. Like carting round a heavy wet bit of nappy in your pants. Def age related with me. Maybe some of us will stop sweating on the Other Side of the menopause?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 26/07/2018 00:53

@ALittleBitofEverything111 I am.. 37 weeks. You? I've resorted to prayer.

rightknockered · 26/07/2018 01:14

I'm peri menopausal so get hot flashes, the type where you can't cool down once you've started burning up. I feel as though I'm on fire. I pour cold water on myself, literally handfuls down my back. I look ridiculous but past caring. I go from dripping wet with water to bone dry in 10 minutes, then I do it again. I have bottles of frozen water in the evenings at home, and cold wet flannels in my bra and pants. I look quite the picture of glam

rightknockered · 26/07/2018 01:22

i think the non sweating folk are not in London, temps of 32 today, and will be 34 tomorrow. Expected to be 26 - 28 until the end of August. I just want it to be September. On top of that my 13 year old just can not breath in this humidity, asthma attacks galore. It is truly debilitating for some.

GorgonLondon · 26/07/2018 02:21

rightknockered nope, I'm in London and have been into town every day this week.

Took my 8 and 4 year old kids into Leicester Square, Chinatown and Soho today, went on the tube.

They were absolutely fine. It's not even that hot.

We've spent a few summers in southern Spain and Cyprus and that is actually hot and can be dangerously so.

This is perfectly ok, even for little kids to walk around in the middle of the day in town. None of us were sweaty or heatstruck.

Saw hundreds or thousands of other people including lots of other families with small kids, all coping perfectly fine .

GorgonLondon · 26/07/2018 02:22

Oh and stop wishing our summer away already!! Have suffered through enough festivals and school holidays in freezing miserable rain and mud. Why not let us actually enjoy some sun for once??
