I wore my mother's wedding dress which was empire line - lace bodice and silk skirt. She made it herself in the late 60s with silk and lace gifted by her brother. For my wedding, she altered the sleeves slightly.

Floralnomad · 22/07/2018 15:48

Mine was £800 in 1989 from a wedding dress shop .

starsorwater · 22/07/2018 15:49

1982 £12 made it myself.

Ariela · 22/07/2018 15:50

About £75. I made it and was very pleased with it, even more so because a friend in recovery from cancer decided sewing little beads on the the floral lace part would be ideal therapy as she recovered - looked super rather than just plain, and it was so nice she made it to the wedding and 20 years on still in remission.

mrscobweb · 22/07/2018 15:50

I paid £150 in a sale in a local shop in Oxford 10 years ago - then another £150 or so on alterations

Essexgirlupnorth · 22/07/2018 15:51

£300 was a sample should have cost £1200 was by Charlotte Balbier.
Did have a few dress wobbles but did love wearing it

t3xa · 22/07/2018 15:51

Lonelynessie · 22/07/2018 15:51

About £700 I think. Bought at a sample sale in a central London boutique.

boomerang1 · 22/07/2018 15:51

Stopyourhavering64 · 22/07/2018 15:55

About £200 in 1987....my mum made it from raw silk and lace, embroidered with pearls and it was absolutely gorgeous and definitely one of a kind

speakout · 22/07/2018 15:55

£30 in Top shop.

OH told me I looked awful.

He died 5 years later.

SerenDippitty · 22/07/2018 15:57

£300 in 1990

BoomBoomsCousin · 22/07/2018 15:57

£99 in 1996 from Monsoon. But it was a regular dress rather than part of their bridal stuff.

TigerDroveAgain · 22/07/2018 15:57

£1,500 from local wedding designer in 1998. I did have a wedding (abroad) followed two months later with a complete rerun locally so maybe you could say £750 as I got to wear it twice.

Eminybob · 22/07/2018 15:58

£160 in 2016 from a website called Alie Street. It was a low key dress for a low key wedding. I was really pleased with it - crucially it was stretchy so therefore comfy!

ClarkWGriswold · 22/07/2018 15:58

Mine was priced at £1400 from Sottero and Midgely but I bought it on the designer weekend event to got 10 percent off. I also had some issues with how long it took for the bridal shop to get my dress delivered (I still hadn't tried it on a month before the wedding) so a solicitor I worked with wrote them a letter and I got another 25 percent off. So I ended up paying £900.

blearyeyedbear · 22/07/2018 15:59

£800. It wasn't a wedding dress as such, as I didn't want a traditional dress. I didn't really know what I wanted, so OH dragged me into a shop on Bond Street, randomly pulled a dress off the rail, and strangely I loved it. Grey/silver, straight off the Paris catwalk. Very cheap for what it was. Sadly the marriage was much less successful than the dress.

haverhill · 22/07/2018 16:02

About £400 although it was on sale. It was a nice dress but probably not worth the full price.

EnglishRose13 · 22/07/2018 16:03

£30-£40 (I can't remember exactly). From Dorothy Perkins.

Threeminis · 22/07/2018 16:03

Mine was 199.
Probably paid about the same for alterations as I added a halter neck strap and lost 5 stone after I bought it, I was lucky they were able to alter it enough (so they told me)
