About £2600 in 2014. It was Kelly by Stephanie Allin. I loved it and it had pockets 😀

DowntonCrabby · 22/07/2018 15:13

Just under £300 from Monsoon in 2011

Ffswtf · 22/07/2018 15:13

£30 in the sale at Debenhams, over 10 years ago. Got married abroad so wanted strapless, full skirt and just below the knee. Prepared to pay more but it was the dress I fell in love with so the saving was a bonus! Put the savings towards the shoes Wink

Underhisi · 22/07/2018 15:14

20 years ago £500 Benjamin Roberts dress from the local branch of a bridal chain paid for by me. I spent weeks trying and retrying dresses on in all the local bridal shops, got my mum up for the day to help me choose between my favourites and ended up buying one I had never tried on before.

anothernameagain000 · 22/07/2018 15:15

£1300 from a local boutique but remember the veil being another hundred or so I think (2014)

Mammalamb · 22/07/2018 15:15

£250 from Jasper Conran at Debenhams in 2006. My little brother and his girlfriend (now wife) paid for it as our wedding present.

Crazycatlady123 · 22/07/2018 15:16

I bought a Ronald Joyce dress for £800 off the peg in 2012 at a local bridal shop. Should have been £1200, I was really chuffed

happymummy12345 · 22/07/2018 15:16

£1400 from a local bridal boutique. Plus £150 for a two tier veil, plus £100 for alterations.

deptfordgirl · 22/07/2018 15:16

1800 5 years ago. My budget was 1000 but I fell in love with it and paid it in installments over 5 months. I paid for it myself and had the money saved and never normally spend much money on myself!

strawberryalarmclock · 22/07/2018 15:16

£60.
People thought it was a one off. Instead of coyly accepting the many compliments, I told everyone it was dirt cheap and showed them the high street tag Grin

MindBodyChocolate · 22/07/2018 15:16

Why are you asking?

LaurieMarlow · 22/07/2018 15:19

£450 from a small boutique in my home town. No idea of the designer, I just knew l loved it. Grin

It was a size too big as I bought off the shelf, but was adjusted by an amazing local seamstress and on the day the fit was perfection.

I bought it 3 months before the wedding. I got a few raised eyebrows when shopping but I found the whole 'you have to start looking 12 months before as it may take 5 months to be shipped from Italy' bullshit very tedious.

I knew I'd find a white dress that I loved and that fitted me in the time available. It's not rocket science.

shopaholic85 · 22/07/2018 15:19

£1200 in 2013. It was designed by a local boutique that announced they were closing down while I was waiting for it to be made. I had paid £800 as a deposit, which they refused to return but said they would honour the order if I paid the remainder. I didn't have time to get another dress, so I paid up for a dress that turned out to be of a much lower quality than expected. I hated it, but ended up wearing it on the day. I wish I had taken the designer to court to get the money and found another dress. It still bothers me when I think about it now.

Bambamber · 22/07/2018 15:20

£30 from eBay Grin

ScienceIsTruth · 22/07/2018 15:22

Can't remember offhand exactly, but I bought it from bridal shop in SE in early 2012 for my wedding later that year, and it was a Ronald Joyce design costing somewhere between £500 and £750 plus about £100 for alterations. That didn't include veil, shoes, etc, though. I think it was at the higher end, but without hunting for the receipt, I can't be sure.

sprinklesandsauce · 22/07/2018 15:22

About £100 for the materials and pattern and a friend made it for nothing. She worked as a seamstress in a small local wedding dress business.

sakuramiyagi · 22/07/2018 15:23

Mine was £3220 Blush I had intended to buy it myself but my parents were very, very generous.

It was the only dress that made me burst into tears as soon as I tried it on.

gillybeanz · 22/07/2018 15:23

about £100 inc deposit, rented for the day.
I think deposit was £40.
I couldn't justify spending money for a dress to sit in the loft for eternity, and had no other use for one.

shartsi · 22/07/2018 15:24

£55 monsoon sale

Maverick66 · 22/07/2018 15:24

£150 in sale. Pronuptia 1986

DD's was £595 for everything veil etc last year from independent bridal boutique.

TheFlis12345 · 22/07/2018 15:25

My Maggie Sottero was £1700 plus £160 for the veil from a local bridal shop last year. I bloody love that dress! My parents were paying so there was no fixed budget, they just told me to find my dream dress. I had tried on loads but instantly knew this was the one as when I put it on, and as soon as I walked out of the fitting room in it my mum was practically throwing her payment card at the lady in the shop! Grin

OctoberMarch · 22/07/2018 15:25

About £320 including alterations. I found the one I wanted at a wedding fair, went to the boutique and tried it on and fell in love with it. I found it so hard to justify the£1100 price but found the exact dress in the right size on eBay for £280. The rest of the cost was for making the dress shorter. This was in 2015

roses2 · 22/07/2018 15:26

£200 from eBay. Cost £1,800 originally.

Sold it on for exactly what I paid for it.

xJessica · 22/07/2018 15:26

£600 in 2005

Eeeeek2 · 22/07/2018 15:26
