Next appointment for blood test is in a week but I feel that is too long to keep someone waiting

All your symptoms just about were my pregnancy symptoms too. Although I had pain in my stomach and painful boobs. I was also very dizzy and kept having to nibble on food regularly the first few weeks were really hard for me with bloating headache and loose stools.

What world do you live in? Have you not heard about the horrendously long waiting times for a GP appointment. A week is nothing. You may be able to obtain result of blood test by phoning reception. If GP has authorised you to be told other than by a formal appointment they will give result. Other than that you are lucky to only wait a week.

Have u still got shoulder pain?

feral · 25/07/2018 07:05

Did you find a walk in place OP?

confusedgirl123 · 25/07/2018 09:59

Yes still got shoulder pain, although it has eased off a little

Yes went to walk in phlebotomy clinic on Monday so waiting for the results. Not sure whether to ring today or tomorrow to check if they have them. Don't want to pester the doctors receptionist.

During just in case. It's their job to be pestered.

Headaches
Stomach pain
Bloating
Shoulder pain
Watery stools
Lack of concentration
Heightened emotions
Low energy levels

This sounds like half the people I know at the moment because of the heatwave...hot weather, lack of sleep etc The last three are affecting so many people because it's too hot to sleep. The others are classic tummy issues that you get in hot weather. Only the shoulder pain doesn't come into that category but I don't know anyone who has had that as a pregnancy symptom either tbh

JuJu2017 · 25/07/2018 14:31

You are being unreasonable, but not intentionally! The hospital should have explained to you that if they re test too soon you will be in the same boat and will just have to keep coming back every other day. By going back in a week, you’ll have a definite answer and should hopefully have high enough levels to see something on a scan! I’ve been in the position where they had me back every other day for a week and it was hell. Every time I went it was uncertainty and every scan was just like ‘hmm maybe next time we will see clearer’ ... a week after my first result we finally saw baby instead of a sac and the scan and the bloods were positive. It’s an awful time and I really feel for you. Try to stay positive.

Best of luck with your results, I hope you get the one you want x

feral · 27/07/2018 18:49

Any news OP?

confusedgirl123 · 28/07/2018 11:19

Yes, I rang doctor yesterday and I'm not pregnant and tests came back 'normal, no further action' so need to go back and see if they think it could be something else

scaevola · 28/07/2018 11:22

With that list of symptoms, especially if they have been going on for 3weeks+, I wouid press for a CA125 test, and also a full blood count.

confusedgirl123 · 28/07/2018 16:44

@scaevola
What would a ca125 test for?

OP posts:
niketrainersarecomfy · 28/07/2018 16:46

Ovarian cancer op. X

FASH84 · 28/07/2018 16:52

My gp wouldn't even confirm it, didn't ask me how many tests or what kind, just to call the women's clinic to get a booking in appointment with the midwife, I thought she'd do a test, nope, NHS didn't confirm it until my twelve week scan (we paid for a private early one at nine weeks). Do a first response, it's highly unusual to get multiple negatives unless it's very early on, how pregnant do you think you are?

FASH84 · 28/07/2018 17:04

OP I have PCOS and get a lot of your symptoms when I'm not on a particular type of anti androgenic contraceptive pill

confusedgirl123 · 28/07/2018 21:43

@FASH84
That's something I'm worried about

OP posts:
scaevola · 29/07/2018 08:35

I'm sorry, I should perhaps have explained more fully.

Yes I was thinking of ovarian cancer p, because it is so often missed and the symptoms can be quite non specific, but usually include bloating. They are:

Abdominal bloating, indigestion or nausea.
Changes in appetite, such as a loss of appetite or feeling full sooner.
Pressure in the pelvis or lower back.
A more frequent or urgent need to urinate and/or constipation.
Changes in bowel movements.
Increased abdominal girth.
Tiredness or low energy.
Changes in menstruation.

So the shoulder pain doesn't match, and as they are non specific there are loads of other possible diagnoses. However in your shoes, I would want the possible (but quite rare) cancers to be ruled out asap.

confusedgirl123 · 29/07/2018 09:05

Thank you, when I go back I'll see what they say
