Mums who squirt pouches into baby’s mouth

I find this so lazy and gross while out and about, seems to be increasing. Even worse when Mum is gazing into iPhone and not even looking what she’s doing !

Absolutely disgusting! It’s so wonderful for a baby to take food off a plastic spoon instead of a little off the end of a plastic spout, which in my opinion is tantamount to child abuse. And to not be gazing at your angel adoringly while gently singing lullabies or reciting educational material is pure neglect. Call SS and log it with 101 next time you witness such shit parenting OP.

(slowly puts phone down and remembers baby on lap)

Okaassan · 16/07/2018 19:02

It is lazy and it looks feral.

But each to their own.

MrsJayy · 16/07/2018 19:02

Surely that is the point of pouches? Meh is saves on bowls and spoons and palava

CorianderDestroysFamilies · 16/07/2018 19:03

Xenia I’m guessing hoping you’re joking but you really shouldn’t chew up food for your child as it can transfer cavity causing bacteria to their mouths.

Aeroflotgirl · 16/07/2018 19:03

Riiight, how does it look feral. No clutter to carry around and more convenient.

MyWaterButtIsEmpty · 16/07/2018 19:04

Feral 😂😂 yes, all those animals in the wild with their little pouches of pureed peaches and blueberries Grin

ALemonyPea · 16/07/2018 19:04

Do you protest about yoghurt in pouches as well op? Should children be eating those with a spoon?

reeldoop · 16/07/2018 19:04

Feral!? Have you seen how much they cost?

MrsJayy · 16/07/2018 19:07

I used to freeze choob yoghurts and give them to my babies/toddlers to suck on

TeasndToast · 16/07/2018 19:08

All those chavvy mums, stealing and burning out cars, smoking in the face of their babies, taking their kids to crack dens and feeding straight from pouch.

Totally feral.

Llanali · 16/07/2018 19:08

@Okaassan

Feral?! Is that a typo?

PeapodBurgundy · 16/07/2018 19:15

Sorry OP but I think you need to get down off your high horse. Live and let live. They're being fed a meal, and in all likelihood it's age appropriate and nutritionally okay one if it's designed as a baby meal.

FWIW I did BLW with DS so I've never fed him from a pouch or otherwise. We have the fruit pouches in for the day we leave the house before he's ready for breakfast, so he'll have a fruit or yoghurt pouch and a cereal bar in the pram en route. Does that mean I'm only feral on a Tuesday? Hmm

Okaassan · 16/07/2018 19:16

No typo. That is what I think when I see it.

There is no need to get offended guys. We all see things differently.

GetToFuck · 16/07/2018 19:16

I'd eat everything out of a pouch if I could. I hate washing up/stacking the dishwasher.

Eliza9917 · 16/07/2018 19:17

I understood the op's point to be that it's lazy to squeeze it into the mouths of older children FOR THEM. Not that using pouches is lazy.

SoyDora · 16/07/2018 19:17

Do you know what feral means Okaassan?

viques · 16/07/2018 19:20

Make the most of it pouch suckers, once they start outlawing plastic you"ll be wrapping puréed sweet potato and carrot in a leaf......

Jeffjefftyjeff · 16/07/2018 19:21

Pouches and iPhones didn’t exist when mine was small. So jealous of you all

Sitranced · 16/07/2018 19:22

I eat those smoothie pouches by squirting into my mouth.

Thesearepearls · 16/07/2018 19:22

What are pouches?

I mean it sounds as though bloody food manufacturers have puréed up some fruit or summat, stuck it in a plastic pouch, and then are massively overcharging Mums for half an apple and a slice of banana. Plus the preservatives and all manner of associated rubbish.

Clearly if Mums are squirting this stuff into their unsuspecting infants’ mouths then they are using these awful things in the way that is presumably intended.

I personally wouldn’t give the food manufacturers the satisfaction. Why not just give an apple a whizz in a blender?

Waitingonasmiley42 · 16/07/2018 19:23

I fail to see how feeding anyone from an expensive, plastic container containing puréed food can ever be described as ‘feral’. If it was a raw steak dripping with blood that might be different.

twinkletwinkletwinkle · 16/07/2018 19:24

Ha! My baby is suddenly hating eating off a spoon but just gobbled up a whole Ella pouch by squirting it in his mouth... I hadn't realised this made me such a bad parent!

FrozenMargarita17 · 16/07/2018 19:24

I do this. I don't care what you think

LRDtheFeministDragon · 16/07/2018 19:24

mywater - exactly what I was thinking!

likeacrow · 16/07/2018 19:25

Oh god, I totally use pouches. DD loves those squeezy yoghurts! She can feed herself from them though.
