.... or do you think these are fakes? I really want one but can’t bring myself to pay £70 for a wee bag. I see these are half price, but wondering if they are fakes.

Yes pretty sure they are fakes

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 16/07/2018 09:24

They’ll definitely be fake

Orangecake123 · 16/07/2018 09:26

I want one too but would only buy if on sale from a reputable retailer.

Mammalamb · 16/07/2018 09:28

Thanks ladies. The website actually looks legit, but I wasn’t sure because it wasn’t the actual Fjallraven website

Defo fakes.
If you'd use it a lot, £70 is well worth it. I bought one a few years ago and I use it a lot as a camera bag (I'm a photographer) and it's still good as new and I can fit so much in.

BikeRunSki · 16/07/2018 09:28

I’ve seen that advert, and many variations on it. I was very suspicious. If you google reviews of the websites, they are all too new to be rated. Often, bug discounts like this are set by the manufacturers and passed down to the supplier ie: a white stuff dress reduced in WS shops will also be reduced in John Lewis. So I checked the Fjallraven website, and known suppliers on line. They are still all at normal price. I concluded that these FB ads are very fake indeed.

Fintress · 16/07/2018 09:30

There are some decent priced ones on sale online from reputable retailers, I was looking last night as we need a new daypack.

StoorieHoose · 16/07/2018 09:40

I looked at that website too and by the time you add postage it take it up to over £50 and you can get them on amazon for about £58

ichifanny · 16/07/2018 09:41

Watch out on amazon too for fakes

Mammalamb · 16/07/2018 09:43

A wee bit disappointed as I love a bargain. Not paying £40 for a fake

BikeRunSki · 16/07/2018 09:51

£56 from a reputable supplier

19lottie82 · 16/07/2018 09:53

I bought a fake from eBay a year ago. It was £11 and you can’t tell the difference, even when it’s side by side with a genuine one.

RedDwarves · 16/07/2018 09:59

Buy a legitimate one. They're worth the money. Mine lasted frequent use throughout my time at uni, several overseas trips etc. It's still going strong after 5 years.

spiderlight · 16/07/2018 10:02

I stupidly ordered one of those last month. Have waited and waited and it's not arrived, there's only an email address on the website to which nobody replies, and I've seen about half a dozen identical ads posted under different company names, which all go to identical websites with different domain names but the same email address. It's dodgy as hell and I'm kicking myself. Paid with my debit card as well, so if it's not arrived within another few weeks I'm going to have to go through the palaver of trying to claim the money back via my bank.

Hidillyho · 16/07/2018 10:04

A legit one is worth the money. I think I paid £80 for the leather one which was supposed to be £110 from a reputable seller

Toddlerteaplease · 16/07/2018 10:39

I
Mentioned these to my sister as she has 10 of the bloody things. She is convinced they are fakes.

Mammalamb · 16/07/2018 10:43

Spider. Hope you get your bag or your money soon! Thanks for letting me know it’s probably a scam xx

Bike. I’ll have a wee look at that! It’s still above my budget but I really want one x

The Website says that it is based in the US, but it is hiding it's location and the ownership.

I've seen some fantastic fakes of all brands in North Africa ad they are good quality, but you are still paying too much to have a label stuck on.

Treat yourself in the sales, or ask for Vouchers for Christmas.

Birdsgottafly · 16/07/2018 11:15

If you are unsure about a Website, there will be reviews of it on the Internet. A Website that hides it's location is always dodgy.

Clionba · 16/07/2018 11:22

I bought mine full price from John Lewis. Definitely worth it, incredibly light, practical and durable. Looks good.

orangeicecream · 16/07/2018 11:25

Bought a fake from eBay for £10 as my dd was desperate for one for School - she's very happy with it!

spiderlight · 16/07/2018 11:30

Any good?

Clionba · 16/07/2018 11:35

The originals are a deceptively simple design, but they sit well on the back, quite high up, and don't add pressure. I've had a bad back and it's the only backpack I can use. If you want a cheap backpack, and comfort isn't an issue, just go to TKMaxx, they've got loads.

TrudeauGirl · 16/07/2018 14:08

I want one of those so badly but I'm with you I think £70 is a little bit expensive. However they are supposed to be good so I'm torn.
