Parking situation on my new road.

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

flowergrrl77 · 16/07/2018 21:58

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2018 22:01

CF!!

Fab diagram and colours

And their note. Erm no. You can park where you like !!!

I would ring council and see if you can get double yellow lines

Tho will mean dh can’t park there once home

MooMummy12 · 16/07/2018 22:01

Placemarking 🙈

Noodledoodledoo · 16/07/2018 22:01

I also would agree with not disbelieving what they say the estate agent says. We live opposite a rental property which the landlord only likes to rent for yearly lets. We are on our 5th set of renters, same letting agent every year and we have to tell them every year that the '3rd parking space' is actually half ours and not a parking space! We did tell the letting agent but still hear him say it!

Best public transport? Private sector offering more public transport? More people cycling/walking short distances. Ride staring services growing. Dawn of the age of mass telecommuting. Transport links in this country are terrible. I would like to gave faith that the government will actually improve their roads etc but I doubt it.

LifeImplosionImminent · 16/07/2018 22:08

Halfway through this thread but I just have to say: Why is it always the selfish dicks who behave crappily that feel victimised when said crappy behaviour is pulled up on???? A note on your car FFS! - and on to the rest of the thread!!!

CarlyJayne1987 · 16/07/2018 22:11

Hi NNDN!!!

Legend!! :D

i love these threads!!

Ontheboardwalk · 16/07/2018 22:13

That note is something else entitled much!

Next door have 4 cars and annoy me and the neighbours so much. Six at one house and think they are entitled to park wherever - unbelievable

Lethaldrizzle · 16/07/2018 22:13

Car owner ship is a actually decreasing, not that it helps with this situation!

JennaTools · 16/07/2018 22:15

Still no sign of them, but I'm sleeping at the front of the house tonight with youngest DC and can hear their dog barking away - because they've not walked it I assume, because they're cowardly arseholes.

Great work, NNDN!

It's a shame skip hire is so expensive. It would be funny to fill "their" parking spaces with skips ...

kernowsailor · 16/07/2018 22:16

Shameless placemark

mylifestory · 16/07/2018 22:18

Id say no more and leave it at that. Silence is golden and they will be scared lol. Dont appoach them if u see them or make any further comments.

sequin2000 · 16/07/2018 22:19

To answer your question OP, give it 10 years or so and self driving cars will solve this problem. It will be cheaper to hire a car which could be shared, so people will no longer buy cars. This will mean more land available as car parks and drives will be unnecessary. It will also put an end to parking threads (but this type of neighbour will no doubt find other ways to annoy those around them). I hope you don't have to wait this long for a resolution though!

JennaTools · 16/07/2018 22:20

I'm half tempted to drive to work tomorrow and see what happens and maybe hope for the best that they've got the message. But the other part of me wants to never drive again and leave it there for always and eternity..

@JennaTools

Do you have any friends with a car they don't need all the time who could come over, park up and "visit" for a few days? Just leave their car there for 3 days or So? That seems a reasonable time for a visit and couldn't be classed as abandoned!

Queenofthedrivensnow · 16/07/2018 22:24

Epic thread!!!!
I got rid of cf neighbours by parking off my drive for ages. Did the trick Wink

RightyHoChaps · 16/07/2018 22:29

Shamelessly placemarking...

You're doing well OP, stay strong! No point having a driveway if you can't fucking get out of it! 😂😂😂

Chapman31 · 16/07/2018 22:29

Do you need a skip for anything?! Where we are you can have a skip for 4 weeks... it’d sit nicely at the end of your road where NNDN parallel parked... 😁

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 16/07/2018 22:30

Do take your car to work, I guarantee you they will block your drive, and then you can take lots of lovely photos to show the council what the problem is. And then you can pull your car up right behind them and block them in. Then they’ll have to come and face you to ask you to move your car Grin

Lou222 · 16/07/2018 22:32

That poor dog.
They are twats in every which way!

LifeImplosionImminent · 16/07/2018 22:33

Ahhhh finished the thread! Keep strong @JennaTools Make them realise that considerate parking will make their pain go away!

I'm seriously dreading moving house, it's just my luck that I'd move in next to these type of nightmare neighbours without a NNDN for respite!
