Parking situation on my new road.

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

Reverse your car into your drive and let their tyres down. Only solution.

KittyVonCatsworth · 14/07/2018 22:47

Before I read properly and give you an opinion, I think you should definitely win the prize for the prettiest, professional parking diagram ever seen on MN 😂 will read your post now!

agedknees · 14/07/2018 22:48

Also love the diagram.

MoonsAndJunes · 14/07/2018 22:48

Best diagram OP! Star

The 3 cars at the end - do they block your drive at all?

JennaTools · 14/07/2018 22:48

This is how the end of the cul de sac is laid out so behind their 3 cars is communal grass with a footpath running through and 3 bollards stopping cars - the pavement which runs parallel to the grass is a long dropped kerb which occupies the entire length. My drive in this diagram is light blue - their 3 cars in pink and my NDN in yellow.

Bloody fabulous diagram. A*. What is the big blue slash next door to you. A camper van?

chocolateworshipper · 14/07/2018 22:49

Top marks for the diagram OP !

May I suggest penguin bollards or a rugby team before some bastard beats me to it

123bananas · 14/07/2018 22:50

Stop parking on your drive and park on the road where they normally park.

My sympathies we are on a cul de sac and next door neighbours have 4 cars which is bad enough.

concretesieve · 14/07/2018 22:51

Seconding Kitty - outstanding diagram!

UrsulaPandress · 14/07/2018 22:51

Agree. Park on the road across your drive so that you can easily drive away

agedknees · 14/07/2018 22:51

So you can hardly get on your drive? They are nasty cf’s.

KittyVonCatsworth · 14/07/2018 22:52

Of course they’re being greedy with space and parking on a dropped curb is not on. However, 6 cars will be a problem! YANBU. Is there enough space to drive forward and reverse in to your drive? It seems possible from your diagram x

redbullgavemewings · 14/07/2018 22:53

My first post after weeks of lurking. And OP, you have the best diagram, hands down.

JennaTools · 14/07/2018 22:53

Their wheels don't block my drive but their bonnets do encroach my drive like so (drive is green)

Park on the road for sure. They sound like idiots.

Heratnumber7 · 14/07/2018 22:54

Agree with

  • nice diagramme
  • park on road, not on your drive.
MoonsAndJunes · 14/07/2018 22:54

Park in front of your drive for a while. On the road in front of your dropped curb. They are greedy CF.

agedknees · 14/07/2018 22:55

Park across your driveway if you can.

redbullgavemewings · 14/07/2018 22:56

I agree with PP, start parking in front of your drive.

Catinthecorner · 14/07/2018 22:57

Just start parking at the end of the cul de sac

JennaTools · 14/07/2018 22:57

If the cars they park on the road either side of the drive aren't there I can (and do) reverse on. But if those are there plus the one at the end which is nearest me - it's not possible.
Tonight I parked two roads away and walked - there's lots of unrestricted road parking near by - but I paid for a house with a drive for my car so in a bitter twisted way I feel that they should park at least one of their cars somewhere else Angry

MoonsAndJunes · 14/07/2018 22:58

Just seen your last diagram - yes, if CF car nearest your drive isn't already in place, park at the end of your drive stopping them from doing so.

JennaTools · 14/07/2018 22:59

Ok - good plan. I've decided I don't think I'll ever be friends with these people so I suppose nothing to loose. They also have 3 motorbikes but those are in their garage so I shan't moan about them or the noise.

Kudos on the diagram.

Absolutely park on the road, over your drive. Make it as difficult as possible for them.

MoonsAndJunes · 14/07/2018 23:00

Why do people need so many cars? Do they live in a 5 bed house or have they got multiple cars each?
