To be freaked out by the lack of rain?

Every few days it’s the same. The air feels heavy like it might, just maybe, rain. Clouds form. Rain’s on its way! Today might be the day!

Then the clouds pass over again and it’s back to weird dusty heavy warmth. It’s like having really unsatisfying sex. It’s really putting me on edge.

Don’t you all be telling me it’s rained round your way today!!

It’s raining right now .......
I’m a bit freaked out by the sight of rain, I’d almost forgotten what a Scottish summer actually looked like.

WallisWindsor · 13/07/2018 18:53

Where is it raining? It's time we got some rain. I'm fed up of this heat/sunshine.

DanielCraigsUnderpants · 13/07/2018 18:53

Dry dry dry here. And I feel the same. I can't remember the last time it rained here. And it feel unnatural

knittingdad · 13/07/2018 18:54

This too will pass.

Glumglowworm · 13/07/2018 18:54

I had a bit of drizzle yesterday morning and proper rain last Wednesday

You wouldn’t know it to look at the grass though!

WinkysTeatowel · 13/07/2018 18:55

It's RAINING here. I agree with PP, it's weird Confused

Shosha1 · 13/07/2018 18:55

We have rain right now. Thank Goodness as Salisbury Plain has been on fire for weeks, and have had to have windows etc shut in the heat.

PurpleDaisies · 13/07/2018 18:55

Hammering down here..,

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 13/07/2018 18:56

I'm in Ireland. It rained here the other day and we all went out in it, smiling.

That's not the way it usually works here.

tracymartel · 13/07/2018 18:57

Absolutely chucking it down in the north west. The yellow grass has gone brown

Vitalogy · 13/07/2018 18:58

It's just "rained" in our garden, I could have spat more.
I could smell it before it hit the ground, everywhere is so parched. Sad

NotAQueef · 13/07/2018 18:59

I feel the same, I can’t remember the last time it rained - must be more than 6 weeks. I need a good summer rain and then the sun can come back.

PumpkinPie2016 · 13/07/2018 19:02

YANBU - I am in the north west and a have had some rain yesterday and today but not much really. Everything is parched!

We are not on mains water - we have a well- having to really be careful with water so that we don't run out. I like nice weather but we do need some rain!

squashyhat · 13/07/2018 19:03

Rumbles of thunder but no rain here yet. The gods are toying with us. It feels interminable - a bit like this tennis match!

GeekyBlinders · 13/07/2018 19:04

It rained here for the first time in 6 weeks this afternoon. I stood in it for a bit but there was a thunderstorm too so I came in.

Solasshole · 13/07/2018 19:05

We had a drought for 10 years when I grew up in Australia Confused was not fun I still find the amount of rain England gets obscene, where does it all come from???

crunchtime · 13/07/2018 19:07

Absolutely torrential here

Redcrayons · 13/07/2018 19:08

It was hammering down yesterday, I stood outside in it for a bit. It smelt so fresh, and it was still warm, loved it.

Drizzling all day today, i’m ready for some sun again now.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 13/07/2018 19:09

We have just had torrential rain along with thunder and lightening here in NW England. It has been a long time coming though.

2018Already · 13/07/2018 19:10

I would pay good money for it to do a massive thunderstorm here right now.
A TEN YEAR drought?? Ugh the thought of it. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want it to be raining all summer but....just a bit of rain to clear the air would be nice.

One huge thunder clap, but no rain. We need rain.

Agustarella · 13/07/2018 19:12

I wonder how long a drought has to be before it causes problems with the supply of mains water. Hopefully a long time.

I just walked across the brown lawn and I could feel it crunching underfoot!

flopsyrabbit1 · 13/07/2018 19:13

far south here,we have been getting high temps and NO rain what so ever

we had a weather warning today, and nothing happenes

fitflopqueen · 13/07/2018 19:16

went very dark about 40 mins ago and then we had a fierce downpour for about 10 minutes, now easing off. North Derbyshire, our fields are very brown so this is so welcome now.

Pyracantha1 · 13/07/2018 19:18

It's raining! I'm in London and it's chucking it down! Loving the sight
