I don't like him or agree with his policies, but what good is it going to do walking around with a giant helium balloon of a baby?

Loads of horrible world leaders from the middle East that are doing far far woorse and they get a royal visit over here with no one batting an eyelid. Just smacks of double standards to me.

Oh, it will have hurt his feelings to be so hated. Imagine having to swerve the Capital of the country you're visiting because you don't dare face how despised you are and by how many.

I thought it was intellectuals, lefties and metropolitan elites who go to protests. Now PP going for the unemployed and benefits angle. Getting desperate and trying new smears?!

bellinisurge · 14/07/2018 08:09

He loves the fuss. His base love seeing "libtards" herding themselves into enclosed spaces. Some of the placards are great though.

beguilingeyes · 14/07/2018 08:22

One of my favourites was an American guys that said 'I'm tired of pretending to be Canadian'

NanaNoodleman · 14/07/2018 08:25

I don’t think he loves it at all. He’s incredibly thin skinned. What he wants is to be worshipped no matter how vile he is, because he is him and he is great and whatever he does is automatically marvellous.

CambridgeAnaglypta · 14/07/2018 08:35

I not sure he deliberately kept the Queen waiting, he has to go when the security services say so.

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 14/07/2018 09:11

Are we sure he did keep the Queen waiting? it has been indicated that he was on time, and the Queen came out earlier than would have been expected.

The outcome of that "peace deal". Oddly, the orange one hasn't tweeted this...

North Korea has increased nuclear production at secret sites, say U.S. officials

June 29
WASHINGTON — U.S. intelligence agencies believe that North Korea has increased its production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months — and that Kim Jong Un may try to hide those facilities as he seeks more concessions in nuclear talks with the Trump administration, U.S. officials told NBC News.

Trump Baby planned to fly in Edinburgh today (couldn't at Turnberry because of air restrictions).

Is that Sadiq Khan's fault as well?Grin

Tbf before the protest there was a petition to parliament to stop him coming and they ignored that. He was deliberately kept away from the public and that was why.
They have a right to protest. He’s a nasty little man.

OrangeGoblinHunter · 14/07/2018 15:55

You live in a democracy, deal with it.

I was at the protests with 250k others. I took a day of annual leave to be there. I have never claimed benefits of any kind.

What I witnessed was chanting, singing, some dancing, lots and lots of good humoured placards and a complete spirit of well mannered, peaceful objection to the presence of a man who everyone had different reasons for disliking.

I’m a labour voting remainer, but I was marching next to a group of Tory voting brexiteers to my left and on my right a group from a Syrian refugee charity. Despite the differing views being discussed, we stood completely united on one point and that was that we were all uncomfortable that our country were entertaining Trump. It really is that simple.

You can try and smear protesters intelligence etc as much as you like, it doesn’t change the fact they they did something about their feeling towards trump and you didn’t. If you’re that bothered, you should have attended a counter protest. You didn’t, which tells me everything.

TattyTshirt · 14/07/2018 19:09

Trump will now go home. Cry that the UK doesn't like him and quit... Hmm
And pigs will fly!

All this protest has served is to get his back up. I wonder who the UK will look forward to trading with after this?

I hope there isn't a war soon... we are losing allies at alarming speed.

Trump may be abhorrent but the UK doesn't need him as an enemy.

PerkingFaintly · 14/07/2018 19:37

Trump isn't going home now. He's going to Helsinki to meet Vladimir Putin, and has requested there be no US staff in the room and that he be alone with Putin. This is... unusual.

He has also spent the last few weeks starting a trade war with the UK and other allies, attempting to undermine Nato, undermining our sitting Prime Minister in favour of her likely challenger, and being personally rude to other allies.

I don't think we get a choice in whether Trump personally is our enemy. He'll do exactly what he likes, to the imaginary greater glory of Donald Trump and to hell with everyone else.

But the UK's relationship with the US and with our other allies does not reside in the person of Donald Trump. Thank goodness.

LadyWithLapdog · 14/07/2018 20:28

If you believe upsetting Trump's fragile ego is sufficient to have a profound negative impact on the UK, there's your reason to resist his stupidity even more. Is he Nero? Caligula? Other mad men of history?

longwayoff · 14/07/2018 20:44

UK will be lucky to get so much as a packet of biscuits from USA past brexit date. Come on trump fans he stood next to TM lying about how he'd traduced her earlier. Calling his own words "fake news". He is, as you refuse to acknowledge, a misogynistic, racist, self- interested, self-important, self-loving pig of a man who simply bullies his way through life only giving credence to those with more powerthan than him. He is a ludicrous excuse for a president and shames the USA. So we're sorry for you if you want us to believe that our powerful protests have scared him off. As if. The UK is a mote in the eye of POTUS.

UpstartCrow · 14/07/2018 20:49

WTAF?

LadyWithLapdog · 14/07/2018 20:50

I don't think he's capable of self-analysis and introspection. He'll keep on blundering through, surrounded by lackeys as venal as he is.

PerkingFaintly · 14/07/2018 20:55

Yip, that's the word so far.

We'll see if that's actually what happens. And it's what Trump did with Kim Jong Un (although there were at least translators present for the latter). So, no record of the meeting except what Donny says it was.

What could possibly go wrong?

Trump-Putin meeting expected to have an extended one on one session lasting between 30-60 minutes according to US & European sources. Russia’s top diplomat says interpreters will be present but that the US specifically requested that it just be the 2 leaders in the room.

longwayoff · 14/07/2018 21:06

And the Russian tapes of course.

TattyTshirt · 14/07/2018 21:14

Yes Parking....

The blokes an evil, sly, megalomaniac. That's why I don't think it's a great idea for the UK to openly display their hatred of him. It's given him carte Blanche to seek his revenge. And he will... Trump is all about Trump. He won't give in gracefully. That's why TM at al haven't retaliated against the ramblings of a madman.

Sometimes it's best to stay schtum.

I wonder what revenge he's plotting now?

Anniegetyourgun · 14/07/2018 21:38

He doesn't plot. He doesn't have the mental capacity.
