I don't like him or agree with his policies, but what good is it going to do walking around with a giant helium balloon of a baby?

Loads of horrible world leaders from the middle East that are doing far far woorse and they get a royal visit over here with no one batting an eyelid. Just smacks of double standards to me.

To be fair the 'protesters' who were interviewed sounded a bit ridiculous.
'he's ugly' was one reason.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/07/2018 22:12

The day has been quite civilised and dignified. I felt quite impressed for the UK. Didn't seem to be to many protests, the few protesters interviewed on TV seemed complete nutters. Win win.

GrouchoMrx · 13/07/2018 23:17

Fabulous protest today.

A lot of sad, miserable people on this thread. You need to go out and enjoy yourselves more.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/07/2018 23:18

It was a good day.

LadyWithLapdog · 13/07/2018 23:32

@longwayoff sadly, you're not a long way off with your description.

UneMoonit · 13/07/2018 23:32

Always nice to see the country's left-wing intellectual betters on the left, asked questions and answering them like total morons. Smile

UneMoonit · 13/07/2018 23:36
  • "on the left". Got to love a typo.
GrouchoMrx · 13/07/2018 23:43

UneMoonit, I'm so sorry to hear so many tens of thousands of morons came out to protest against your hero, Donald Trump.

How absolutely ghastly of them.

LadyWithLapdog · 13/07/2018 23:45

UneMoonit - I didn't see the vox pop. You can't be sure they were 'of the left'. You might have sounded stupid as well if not prepared. The editing might have been biased. Perhaps it's not all metropolitan elites but, you know, ordinary people. What did you do instead with your day? Smirked on Mumsnet.

GrouchoMrx · 13/07/2018 23:48

Moronic is in the ear of the beholder, I fear!

InsomniacAnonymous · 14/07/2018 00:19

I just saw this on Twitter

To think the anti trump marches are a waste of time
MistressDeeCee · 14/07/2018 00:24

It's all relative isn't it? I'm sure some would deem posting and chatting on Mumsnet a complete waste of time in terms of 'achievement'. You could go and protest about something you care about, rather than moan about people who are doing exactly that. From the comfort of your chair, which is about as non-productive as it gets really

commonarewe · 14/07/2018 00:33

Only lefties with nothing better to do go out and protest anyway. The rest of us prefer to do our 'protesting' at the ballot box, to far greater effect.

PerkingFaintly · 14/07/2018 00:43

The day has been quite civilised and dignified

Oh good lord. I take it you didn't see the footage of Trump trying to inspect the honour guard? Dignified it was not.

Lots of sour grapes on display here tonight.

I'm enjoying it Wink

Nancydrawn · 14/07/2018 00:48

To be fair, there's little that pisses him off more, which kind of makes it fun.

CalishataFolkart · 14/07/2018 03:14

@Justanotherlurker

“The useful idiots are on both side shouting obscenities at each other while the rest of the us/the world just sits back and chuckles.“

I was there and saw/heard one person who disagreed. When history and younger generations ask you what you did about the children in concentration camps, will you reply, “I sat back and chuckled”? Of course not. You’re not a monster. You’ll just have to say you did nothing.

user1457017537 · 14/07/2018 03:26

So many protesters who must all be claiming benefits as they clearly have no jobs to go to or businesses to run.

UneMoonit · 14/07/2018 05:02

*UneMoonit, I'm so sorry to hear so many tens of thousands of morons came out to protest against your hero, Donald Trump.

Lol, my hero Donald Trump, amazing. Where did you get that idea from, then?

malificent7 · 14/07/2018 05:06

Trump has blamed Khan for terrorist attacks so maybe Khan wanted revenge?

Not sure it's very professional though.

malificent7 · 14/07/2018 05:12

I'm not into Trump or his policies but I'm impressed with the peace deal with North Korea.

lljkk · 14/07/2018 05:22

There is no peace deal with NK. NK thinks the USA has promised to remove US troops from entire Korean peninsula. This is not what USA thinks they agreed to. In meantime, both sides continue as they were.

Minimammoth · 14/07/2018 05:22

There is no peace deal, it’s a figment of Trumps imagination.

beguilingeyes · 14/07/2018 05:49

I only work three days a week..no mortgage, no benefits of any kind. Sorry not to fit your stereotype.

The way this boorish moron treated a 92 year old lady today makes every protest valid , IMO

NanaNoodleman · 14/07/2018 07:26

The protests were massive - good. The orange haired moron has put another nail in the coffin of johnson’s Ambitions - good. Mrs May has risen with dignity above his petty arrogant insults - good. Only downside is the queen has had to tolerate two absolutely ghastly people for the afternoon but I guess that’s the job.
On the whole I agree, it’s all gone rather well
