Ardent supporters, luke warm well wishers (I'm looking at you Scotland and Wales), waistcoat appreciators, Spurs, Arsenal, northern football fans, League 2 strugglers, those whose only interest is the office sweepstake, those playing 'It's coming home' on trumpets at 1am (I still haven't forgiven you for the vuvuzelas), those quietly sipping Chateauneuf du Pape with friends and family, Brexiters, Remainers and basically, anyone and everyone in between who isn't going to use the football as an excuse to jump up and down on emergency response vehicles or piss on a foreigner. Feeling ridiculously excited & nervous about tonight,

I’ve not told anyone in RL but I was watching one of our qualifying games & had this sort of “vision” of turning to my Husband & saying “we’ve only fucking done it”. I’m not in the slightest bit woo, I’m just hoping it wasn’t me being crazily optimistic after decades of disappointment 😏.

Every time. BBC show that clip from the Sir Bobby Robson documentary when we go out on penalties, I feel very emotional. I was sitting on the sofa watching with my parents. Now they’ve gone just like Sir Bobby.

I got Croatia in the sweepstake so my loyalties are divided.

Ha @MrsK - I am not woo either, but my vision is we win tonight but lose Sunday - France looked so strong yesterday. There seems a sense of inevitability that we will tonight... I bloody hope so.

I remember being 6 and on holiday in Ibiza when it was the 1966 final. Dad was watching it in a room full of Germans - made for quite an excitable atmosphere! I was really disappointed that he wouldn't come and play on the beach.

It's like one of those occasions where you miss those who aren't here, and feel so proud of those who are doing the business - Southgate and his team.

Its getting closer to kick off, my german and now belgian colleagues at work are routing for us tonight.

I can't believe before this tournament I would be stressing over if Jordan Henderson is fully fit, or more to the point that we would still be in!!

Ordinarily I couldn't really care less about football (club football, that is), but I definitely want England to win. Come on England! You can do it! I normally don't believe that, because normally they're so lacklustre and have no confidence, but right now I believe their confidence and their skill can win them the WC. France last night were okay, but not amazing. If we can beat Croatia tonight (and we should, as long as we're on form), then the WC could be ours. I don't think we'll ever have a better opportunity tbh.

I absolutely love Gareth Southgate & the positivity & togetherness he's brought to the team - & I love the way the players are so proud to be playing for their country.
They're a team, not a group of individuals & I haven't seen that in the England team for so long.
