Croatia were obviously playing close to the edge of the rules, the problem corroborated by a refereeing team that was too lenient on the more physical

I feel sorry for them, they did way better than any of our previous teams in recent years, and some of those players probably got paid more than this entire team put together.

No blinkers. Croatia were pushing, elbowing, shoving every chance they got and the ref seemed to have misplaced his cards Then they were throwing themselves in the path of England players to try and get free penalties. Dirty gameplay.

I’m proud of the way England conducted themselves. No deliberate fouls, dives, tears (I’m looking at you, Gazza), tantrums. Brilliant attitude at the final whistle, just disappointment and applause for the fans, the opposition.

All fair goals too. Croatia were great.

England certainly aren’t going home with their tails between their legs. They’re so young, they did superbly.

In terms of the final, I’m supporting France. Nearest neighbours and we love holidaying there.

Having visited lovely Dubrovnik in the early summer, I am happy to support Croatia. That country has suffered in relatively recent times. I admire them hugely.

I’ve fancied the French to win from day one.

I feel like Croatia's experience played out here as the game went on and their composure was superior. But England have been average all tournament and are unlikely to get a better chance to be in that final. They needed to take it.

I love France too, of course. Their team are great.
