Ardent supporters, luke warm well wishers (I'm looking at you Scotland and Wales), waistcoat appreciators, Spurs, Arsenal, northern football fans, League 2 strugglers, those whose only interest is the office sweepstake, those playing 'It's coming home' on trumpets at 1am (I still haven't forgiven you for the vuvuzelas), those quietly sipping Chateauneuf du Pape with friends and family, Brexiters, Remainers and basically, anyone and everyone in between who isn't going to use the football as an excuse to jump up and down on emergency response vehicles or piss on a foreigner. Get over here now and leave the naysayers and misery gutses to it.

I don’t think Croatia played dirty at all, I must have been watching a different match to the folks that saw that.

I said to my (younger) sister (who has only recently enjoyed international football) at the start of the tournament ‘even in my wildest dreams we lose in the semis'.
So I feel vindicated!

I actually really loved the first goal, even though I was cheering for Croatia. Weirdly enough, not everybody not cheering for England has to be against them. Some people actually like the other teams enough to cheer for them and I liked Croatian determination and how they played as a team.
England let go massively during the game and when they started losing, they were ready to go into petty fights instead of focusing on the game.

Ahhh we did so well.

If anyone would have said we go out in ET in semis at the start of the tournament we would have taken it.

We finish 3rd or 4th. We had lots of decisions go against us. We played the last 10 minutes with 10 men. Lots of relatively unknown players have become national hero's. Young lads without an ego amongst them. We were so close.

It might not be coming home this tournament but the euros......

The Croatian team remind me of a Jack Russell terrier - snappy little tykes !
They are from a tiny population of only 4 million people
but this is the 3rd time they have come back to win from 1-0 down.

I'm still rooting for France in the final though - our nearest neighbours on the continent and a close ally for many years.

I don't think Gareth will go anywhere - I think he would see building the England team as a work in progress.

I think I missed something.
Everyone everywhere is behaving like "England is going home" and "see you in 2022", yet they have another game. Shouldn't people keep cheering them up for the third place? I know it's not first, but it's still a MASSIVE achievement.

Not a football fan having had a professional in family so know how it all works. As the result isn't as hoped for by fans will say the team did well though.
