Ardent supporters, luke warm well wishers (I'm looking at you Scotland and Wales), waistcoat appreciators, Spurs, Arsenal, northern football fans, League 2 strugglers, those whose only interest is the office sweepstake, those playing 'It's coming home' on trumpets at 1am (I still haven't forgiven you for the vuvuzelas), those quietly sipping Chateauneuf du Pape with friends and family, Brexiters, Remainers and basically, anyone and everyone in between who isn't going to use the football as an excuse to jump up and down on emergency response vehicles or piss on a foreigner. Get over here now and leave the naysayers and misery gutses to it.

I'm a lukewarm Welsh well wisher who's very excited for you all! I remember how over the moon I was for us at the Euros so I hope you get to the final. I have an English husband and subsequently half English children (allegedly, but I'm fighting him.on that as they were born here )

I'm not sure I see you actually winning as I think France look good for it this year but I would be pleased if you did nonetheless. (Well as long as the media don't make me endure stories about it for months...!)

BBC says it's white. They also give the name of the Turkish referee, which is one that could lead to some rather unfortunate autocorrects and mispronunciations in English. (I'm sure it's a lovely name in Turkish)

It was obvious from around 6 weeks ago that England would be in the semi finals, I feel dreadful not informing you all. Sorry 🙁. From the moment I knew I wouldn’t be in the UK, England’s place was secure. Good news is I’m not due back until after the final - so there’s hope of a win.

I’ll be sat, on my own, in the cold & dark watching it at 6am trying not to make any noise!
