To hope they lose

Last Saturday my town centre was awash with ambulances frequently after they won that game. Quite frankly I do hope they lose as many of the fans are just wasting NHS resources and a slow Salk home would be far better than hours of celebrating drinking and all the violence that would ensue.

Other sports just don't get the same behaviour at all

I really want France to win but I would also be happy if England wins. the country could do with it.

MN is full of miserable sods who think people shouldn't be able to enjoy anything they don't approve of. They also seem to think that football violence is purely an English thing when everyone who knows the slightest thing about the game knows it's not. They also don't seem to realise that the people causing trouble after a football match would find another excuse if there was no football.

English people are so fu£king miserable. The glass is always half empty. In fact, it is usually 3/4 empty. In fact one of the reasons why we are so crap at stuff is because we have this attitude.

I hope they win because I think they are a really great bunch of footballers who are disciplined and professional and are really good role models to young children who otherwise have stupid people like on TOWIE and Justin B to look up to. Also, when we win something everyone cheers up for a bit.

I'm embarrassed to read some of the anti football/anti English/ anti working class posts.

As an Irish person who is unlikely to ever see its national football team reach this stage of a world cup (have our hopes set on rugby world cup though ). I say give up moaning and enjoy it. Yes some people will get carried away, some damage may be caused, nhs and the police may have to clean up some of the collateral damage but the vast majority of people are going to have a fantastic party if you win and can you imagine the euphoria if you win the world cup! That is stuff of dreams. I would be bursting with pride right now if this was an Irish team

The DV stat is awful however, I don’t feel football is responsible.

If a man is violent to his partner, he will be for any reason.

The whole point is the violent man will go out and trash stuff or be happier or get more pissed and fall asleep. A certain percentage will still sadly rape or beat up his partner. But a smaller percentage.

What you don’t see is the millions of people at home holding barbecues, having a couple of drinks and really getting into the spirit of it, and THAT’S MOST OF US.

No different than any othet saturday night really OP. Almost most pubs arent showing in city centres under council advice. If they win people trash the pubs. If they lose they trash the pubs. Not worth their time cleaning up. Public screens are being put up in loads of cities instead.
